Vicky Pattison says 'I'm not proud of it' as she opens up on 'turning point'
Vicky Pattison has been open about her battle with vaping - admitting that she had been trying to quit the habit but 'it all unravelled' after she had a tough week Vicky Pattison, the ex-Geordie Shore star turned podcaster, has candidly shared an update on her struggle with vaping with her fans. On her Get A Grip podcast, the former queen of the jungle confessed to co-host Angela Scanlon that she's picked up the e-cigarette habit again. She explained: "Giving up things is really hard. I can't remember the specific turning point. Last week... it's always emotions with me. Like, I know I'm doing that... I'm craving relaxation. "In a world where I can't cultivate it naturally because my schedule's a bit unrelenting, I'm doing it synthetically. I think I will give it up at some point, I am really trying." She admitted to a setback in her efforts: "I was about five, six days in, but then it all unravelled. So I'm back vaping. I'm not proud of it, but it's who I am. I am a vapist!" At 37, Vicky isn't alone in her vaping woes; other celebs like Good Morning Britain's Kate Garraway and musician Matt Willis have also opened up about their own struggles last year, according to Chronicle Live. Garraway revealed her own vaping journey, stating she had stopped before her stint on I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! — only to find herself hooked once more. On Good Morning Britain, she shared: "The last thing I want to do is in any way sanction [vaping], because I don't now. But my experience was, after Billy was born, I did smoke before and I was craving going back to smoking [but] didn't want to. "I thought it was amazing, because it didn't smell, at that point you could do it anywhere, it must have been like smoking in the 70s — you didn't have to stand outside. Everybody said it was better for you, and I did feel much better. I got the nicotine hit." However, after her stint in the jungle, she confessed that she fell back into vaping — a habit reignited by a segment on Good Morning Britain. Kate said: "I think we had some props in here or something ridiculous, and I picked it up and I was instantly addicted — like, beyond anything! I couldn't believe it, and it made me realise how particularly those disposable ones are so addictive." In a similar struggle, Matt Willis opened up about his own issues with vaping during an appearance on the On The Mend podcast, where he recounted a telling-off he received from a pal during a round of golf for being covert about his habit — notably from his wife, Emma. Matt detailed the encounter, saying: "I try to live a very honest life. For instance, I was recently playing golf with a mate of mine, and he's in recovery, and I was vaping on the golf course, and he was like: 'Does your wife know you do that?'" He shared his response: "I was like, 'No, I only do it when I'm at golf and I do it when I'm with the band, so I don't do it at home or around the family.' So he was like, 'You lie about it.' I was like, 'I don't lie about it, I just don't talk about it.' He was like, 'So you're holding something from people, you're keeping a secret.'" Matt candidly opened up about his vaping habit, confessing that he'd often sneak in puffs both during the day and at peculiar hours of the night. He detailed: "Before I knew it, I was doing three to four a day of these disposable vapes. I was even doing it on stage. I was walking to the back of the stage and vaping, thinking no one could see me." He added: "I'd wake up in the middle of the night and go for a wee and vape in the toilet in my hotel room on my own and then go try and get back to sleep." Remember to tune into Channel 4's Sunday Brunch featuring Vicky Pattison, which kicks off at 10am today (June 22).

I'm a Celebrity star was supposed to be on doomed plane which crashed
Scarlette Douglas, who was on I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! in 2022 and presented A Place in the Sun for seven years, spoke in the wake of the Air India plane crash Popular TV presenter Scarlette Douglas"hates flying" - because she was supposed to be on a doomed plane which crashed and killed more than 200 people. Although she hosted Channel 4 show A Place in the Sun for seven years, Scarlette dislikes air travel after her friend died when Air France Flight 447 crashed into the mid-Atlantic Ocean. All 228 people onboard, including Scarlette's mate, lost their lives in the global tragedy in June 2009. And Scarlette, who was on I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! in 2022, was meant to be on the Airbus A330. Her friend booked both their spaces but Scarlette had a job in Hollywood so didn't travel in the end. The 38-year-old presenter, from Enfield, north London, made the heartbreaking remark at the Taste of London Food Festival opening party in Regent's Park this week. Speaking to a Daily Mail reporter, she said: "I lost a really good friend of mine in the Air France crash from Brazil to France. The scary thing was I was supposed to be on that flight. She had booked it." Scarlette says she "hates flying" as a result, a challenge during her role on A Place in the Sun. She hosted the programme and its various spin-offs between 2015 and 2022, before her I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! stint. The star was asked about flying in the wake of the Air India plane crash, which saw all but one of those onboard the Boeing die in a horror crash. Some 53 Brits were killed after the plane, destined for Gatwick Airport, collided into a medical college in Ahmedabad, western India. Although the investigation into the crash continues, an aviation expert has claimed the co-pilot pulled the plane's wing flaps instead of retracting the landing gear moments after take-off. But inconsistent airspeed indications and miscommunication led to the pilots inadvertently stalling the doomed Air France plane, on which Scarlette's friend travelled in 2009. They failed to recover the plane from the stall, and the plane crashed into the mid-Atlantic Ocean. The investigation was hampered because the aircraft's flight recorders were not recovered from the ocean floor until May 2011, nearly two years after the accident. Eventually, the final - and conclusive - report by France's Bureau of Enquiry and Analysis for Civil Aviation Safety (BEA) was published on July 2012. The majority of those onboard the four-year-old Airbus were Brazilians and French citizens. However, five tragic Brits died in the atrocity, including 11-year-old boy Alexander Bjoroy, oil worker Graham Gardner and PR executive Neil Warrior.

Prince Harry gave playful telling off after Meghan Markle kiss at Royal Ascot
One month after their royal wedding in 2018, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were in attendance at Royal Ascot, with jockey Frankie Dettori stealing the show with a rogue kiss Prince Harry once playfully reprimanded jockey Frankie Dettori after he kissed Meghan Markle at Royal Ascot. Just a month after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's lavish wedding at St. George's Chapel in Windsor, they made a return to Ascot Racecourse for the first day of the historic Royal horse racing event. The couple didn't attend the 2019 event as Meghan was on maternity leave with their first son, Archie. Following their dramatic decision to step down from senior Royal duties in 2020, neither have attended the five-day extravaganza since, spending most of their time in America as their relationship with the Royal Family continues to strain. However, in 2018, they presented the winning trophy for the feature race of the opening day, the Group 1 St James's Palace Stakes, with the late Queen Elizabeth II also in attendance, and the winning jockey of the event caused quite a commotion. Dettori was the triumphant rider. The Italian boasts an impressive 81 winners at the Royal meeting over the years and is famed for his charismatic flying dismount, as per Aberdeen Live. The famous jockey, who featured in series 23 of reality TV show I'm a Me Out of Here!, was victorious on board three-year-old colt Without Parole, riding for trainer John Gosden. Dettori was in high spirits after his mount, the 9-4 favourite, burst from the stalls and secured a half-length victory to take home the £300,000 prize. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were spotted in the winners' enclosure post-race, where Dettori received his trophy but not before he cheekily kissed Meghan's hand, prompting a playful telling-off from a blushing Prince Harry who pointed his finger in mock admonishment. The crowd enjoyed a chuckle over the exchange, and the successful Dettori-Gosden duo celebrated further triumphs with Monarchs Glen in the Wolferton Stakes and Calyx in the Coventry Stakes earlier that day. "A fantastic day for the whole team. To have three winners in a week is amazing. To have three winners on the first day is fantastic," Dettori said on their opening day success. Reflecting on the St. James's Palace Stakes, Dettori added: "I was afraid of Ryan (Moore, on long-time race leader US Navy Flag) when he got those three lengths in the straight, as I know what a good horse he is. "I went all guns blazing after him, and a furlong and a half out, I found myself in front with nobody to help me. I was rowing like in the boat race on the Thames to get to the line." Despite the triumphant and incredibly successful day, Dettori was slapped with a seven-day whip ban for his ride on Without Parole and subsequently fined £4,300. The two-time I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! star was also pictured in McGregor's Blackforge FC shirt in the VIP area Conor McGregor has been pictured in Ibiza dancing with former glamour model Katie Price. Katie, best known as Jordan, appeared in social media posts alongside McGregor at what was described as a 'wild daytime party' on the holiday island. The two-time I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! star was also pictured in McGregor's Blackforge FC shirt in the VIP area as she partied in O Beach Club with her long-time friend Ryan Mira. McGregor, who last year lost a civil case where he was accused of raping a woman in 2018, donned a white hat and dark shades for the snap. Ryan captioned the upload on Instagram: "What a day @thenotoriousmma @katieprice [Irish flag emoji]." Katie with McGregor in Ibiza Katie's appearance sparked some concerns among fans which she had previously addressed last September. 'Because the past three, four years ago when I broke my feet and I was in a wheelchair for 10 months because they said I'd never walk again, and obviously you put weight on being in a wheelchair,' she said. 'And then I did all the IVF stuff, that also puts on weight. So yeah I did put on weight and I hated it, I felt uncomfortable and it wasn't me.' She then explained how, after finishing her failed IVF treatment, she became more active with healthy eating. "Everyone is talking about it - it's driving me mad," she said. "I'm healthy and I do eat. "If you look at old pictures of me in the Jordan days, I was always skinny." In January, she flew abroad for 'tweaks' to her sixth £10,000 face lift that she documented for a new YouTube video. Katie in a Blackforge FC shirt She also recently opened up about her most painful surgery experience just days after undergoing yet another cosmetic procedure. Chatting with Katherine Ryan on the 'What's My Age Again?' podcast, Katie detailed her disappointment. "I tried that BBL abroad where they take your own fat and put it in your bum. It was so painful. And it just did not look right on me." Despite the setback experienced in Turkey, Katie stated her continued preference for overseas cosmetic procedures. "I would never have surgery in England again. Ever, ever," she declared. Speaking on The Louis Theroux Podcast last year, Katie explained that she has never been happy with her body. She said: 'I always said I haven't got body dysmorphia but there's definitely something, I don't know what it is. 'I've never looked in the mirror and thought I'm pretty or whatever.'
