Singer Nezza performs national anthem in Spanish at Dodgers Stadium after team axed it
Singer Nezza performs national anthem in Spanish at Dodgers Stadium after team axed it Show Caption Hide Caption The feels are real when a student choir sings the Star Spangled Banner 3,000 students gathered to sing the Star-Spangled Banner at the Hyatt Regency in Louisville during the Kentucky Music Educators Conference. Rising R&B singer Nezza is going viral for her choice to sing the "Star Spangled Banner" in Spanish at a Los Angeles Dodgers baseball game, apparently despite the team's request not to. In a TikTok the singer posted on Sunday, June 15, Nezza can be seen sporting a Dominican Republic jersey as an unseen woman, presumably with the Dodgers front office, confirms the national anthem should be sung in English. While being told this, Nezza says, "Oh," as her face immediately falls, before the video cuts to the 30-year-old singing in Spanish in Dodger Stadium. "watch the dodgers tell me i can't sing the spanish star spangled banner that Roosevelt literally commissioned in 1945," Nezza wrote in the onscreen text. "so i did anyway." Midway through the clip of Nezza singing, she appears to cover her face out of emotion, before gathering herself to finish out the anthem, to cheers. She captioned the TikTok: "para mi gente (for my people) i stand with you." The video has been seen over seven million times. In a separate TikTok later that day, Nezza explained the official "Star Spangled Banner" translation in Spanish was commissioned by President Franklin Roosevelt to build a better relationship with Latin America. "Because of this, I didn't think I would be met with any sort of 'no.' Especially because we're in LA. And with everything happening." USA TODAY has reached out to the Dodgers and Nezza's rep for comment. Nezza is likely referring to nationwide protests over the federal government's immigration enforcement, which first erupted in Los Angeles earlier this month. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement is carrying out a directive from President Donald Trump to find immigrants living in the United States without legal status. His goal is to deport 1 million undocumented immigrants annually. This has sparked a series of sometimes-violent protests in the greater Los Angeles area. A team official told the Los Angeles Times that there were no hard feelings over the move and that Nezza would be welcome back in the stadium in the future.

Green fuels, clean tech, and climate finance on agenda as India gathers for ET India Net Zero Forum 2025
New Delhi: With India targeting net zero emissions by 2070, over 50 senior policymakers, public sector heads, global climate experts and industry leaders will gather in Delhi on June 18 to deliberate on the country's transition towards a low-carbon economy at the ET India Net Zero Forum 2025 . The day-long event will be held at Hyatt Regency, bringing together voices from energy, environment, finance, and manufacturing sectors. The event is being organised by ET Energyworld in partnership with SAEL, Pipeline Infrastructure Ltd (PIL), Trualt Bioenergy, GoodEnough Energy, SKF, and others. Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change Bhupender Yadav will deliver the keynote address, setting the tone for high-level deliberations on climate policy, energy transition, and clean technology innovation. The forum will also feature top officials such as NABARD Chairman Shaji KV, UN Resident Coordinator Shombi Sharp, and European Union Ambassador to India Hervé Delphin. The event will serve as a platform for government agencies, PSUs, global organisations, financiers and corporates to explore how to accelerate India's green goals while ensuring sustainable economic growth. The conference comes against the backdrop of India's updated nationally determined contributions (NDCs), which include achieving 50 per cent cumulative electric power installed capacity from non-fossil fuel-based energy sources by 2030. Key sessions will explore sector-specific decarbonisation strategies for industries such as cement, steel, power, transport, and agriculture. With the industry sector accounting for around 30 per cent of India's emissions, the forum will examine how hard-to-abate sectors can transition through cleaner technologies, carbon capture, electrification, and alternative fuels like ethanol and green hydrogen. Public sector heads from Indian Oil, NHPC, ONGC Green, NLC India and SAEL Industries will present their decarbonisation roadmaps, touching upon their green hydrogen, bioenergy, and renewables-based projects. A dedicated panel led by NITI Aayog will review India's progress on its net zero by 2070 goal and the institutional support required to scale up climate investments. The forum will also include a focused dialogue on transforming agricultural residues into renewable energy , highlighting the role of waste-to-energy in tackling air pollution and enhancing farmer incomes. This session will be anchored by SAEL Industries, which has developed India's largest network of biomass power plants. In another session, CMDs of state-run energy firms will outline strategies for transitioning from fossil fuels to a diversified energy mix. The discussions will also cover recent policy initiatives such as the Green Credit Programme, carbon markets, and renewable energy procurement mechanisms that are shaping India's energy future. A strong private sector presence will see participation from sustainability heads and CXOs of Mahindra Group, Apollo Tyres, Fortis Healthcare, Godrej Industries, JK Cement, Nestlé India, and more. These sessions will focus on ESG implementation, energy efficiency, digitalisation for climate action, and aligning business models with climate goals. In the closing session, former Union Minister Suresh Prabhu will offer a long-term perspective on climate diplomacy and the future of sustainable infrastructure development in India. A special address by the Department of Atomic Energy will spotlight the role of nuclear energy in India's clean energy transition. With India's energy needs projected to double by 2040 and the global pressure mounting to align national actions with the Paris Agreement goals, the ET India Net Zero Forum aims to act as a bridge between intent and implementation.

Luxury hotel is an oasis of calm in trendy Manchester district
It has a fantastic restaurant and a pretty cool bar serving up great cocktails HEAD FOR HYATTS Luxury hotel is an oasis of calm in trendy Manchester district Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) EACH time I visit Manchester there seems to be a new hotel opening or several in the process of being built. But I'm sure none will come close to matching the superb Hyatt Regency, a hidden gem in the city. Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up 9 Hyatt Regency Manchester is afforadable luxury Credit: Supplied 9 Trendy and welcoming reception area 9 The hotel is within walking distance of the popular The Great Northern Warehouse with its shops, bars and restaurants Tucked away in Manchester's sprawling University district the Hyatt opened six years ago but looks as new today as it was then. The location is a massive plus point for the hotel, given that it is a ten minute stroll to Oxford Road at the heart of the city, and a two minute cab ride from Oxford Road Station. And even though it is so close to all the bars, restaurants and theatres, it really is a oasis of calm. The Hyatt's big advantage is the noise factor, or lack of it, the rooms are so quiet and peaceful, the perfect way to unwind after a day exploring. From the moment I checked in, the level of service was far superior to its rivals and all the staff, whether at breakfast, in the bar, concierge, really went the extra mile to make my stay feel special. I was lucky enough to snag a King City View room for my two night stay and the wow factor started when i opened the door to be greeted by floor to ceiling windows with breathtaking views of the Manchester skyline. 9 King City View room Credit: Supplied 9 Sleek bathroom at Hyatt Regency The rooms are modern and spacious, cool design, huge king bed, massive bathroom and shower, massive TV, mini fridge and the best blackout curtains I've ever experienced. Manchester's food scene is known to be among the best UK and growing all the time, but after a long day visiting shops, museums and a matinee showing of the legendary Mike Leigh play Abigail's Party it was great to have the option to dine in at the hotel in the fantastic Laureate Restaurant. The vibe here is very laidback but the food and service more than live up to what you would expect in one of the city's high end restaurants. The extensive menu focuses on the best locally sourced ingredients. Soap legend goes unnoticed as he's caught in YouTubers video ahead of huge comeback My king prawn with garlic lemon and chilli starter was so delicious I could easily have eaten it again as a main, but then I would have missed out on the fantastic ribeye steak. There's also an excellent dine-in selection if you'd prefer to eat in your room. The plan had been to hit one of the bars in Oxford Road with live music but I decided to check out the Hyatt's Graduate Bar and it was definitely the right call. 9 The Laureate Restaurant serves up fabulous fayre Credit: Supplied 9 Kevin loved his ribeye steak Credit: Supplied 9 The gorgeous green outside spot at the Graduate Bar is perfect for relaxing and socialising 9 Cool cocktails at the hotel's Graduate Bar Superb selection of cocktails, craft beers and wines, buzzy American style feel and a cool, relaxed space with live sport on massive screen and smaller TVs. But then later at night the tunes take over with quality deep house and just at the right level to create a nice atmosphere and still be able to hear yourself speak - again the service from the bar staff was above and beyond. The Hyatt prides itself on it's signature breakfasts and no wonder. There's a fantastic choice of fruit, pastries, cereals, yoghurts and excellent selection of hot food available and you can ask the chef to rustle up an omelette or pancakes from the hot plate. GO: MANCHESTER GO: HYATT REGENCY MANCHESTER A KING city view room at the 4* Hyatt Regency Manchester from £150 a night. See Less than a 20 minute stroll from the hotel is the new jewel in Manchester's crown — the Great Northern Warehouse, which is host to bars, restaurants, cafes and shops all housed in the rejuvenated Victorian warehouse area, with cool outside space and terraces to explore. One of the newest additions is Asian street food and cocktail bar Suki Suki. Great selection of VERY spicy but enjoyable food. Make sure you try their delicious Bao buns and Korean chicken wings. They also have a killer cocktail list. Definitely worth checking out. If you're looking for the ideal base to explore Manchester but one with a luxury feel, great rooms, amazing restaurant, excellent bar and superb location then the Hyatt Regency in the University district ticks all the boxes for a truly memorable weekend break in the city.
