How Prince Louis's Trooping the Colour Appearance "Broke Tradition" and Showed a "Subtle Transition" for the Young Royal
When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. Prince Louis made quite an impact at Trooping the Colour on June 14, 2025, while appearing alongside a plethora of Royal Family members. While Louis's mom, Princess Kate, paid tribute to Queen Elizabeth II by wearing the former monarch's famous Bahrain Pearl Earrings, Princess Charlotte wore a horseshoe brooch, which was adorned with pearls, in honor of her late great-grandmother. Meanwhile, Prince George had a lot of laughs while riding in a carriage with Kate and Charlotte. Plus, Prince Louis "broke" an important royal tradition, and signaled he's growing up quickly. Having worn a pair of shorts at Trooping the Colour in 2024, Prince Louis forwent royal tradition and twinned with his brother George in a navy suit with pants. "There has been a longstanding tradition for male members of royalty and aristocracy to wear shorts until the age of 8," per Hello! magazine. As a result, Louis's Trooping the Colour outfit signals a change in royal tradition, with Hello! noting that the little prince has worn pants instead of shorts at a number of official events, in spite of any antiquated royal rules. GB News called Prince Louis's Trooping the Colour appearance a "subtle transition," with the royal essentially debuting a "new look" by perfectly twinning with Prince George. "Prince Louis marked a significant departure from previous years," the outlet reported, while also stating that the royal's "choice breaks with a longstanding custom." King Charles also broke from tradition at Trooping the Colour by arriving in a carriage alongside Queen Camilla, instead of riding horseback. Following his cancer diagnosis, Charles "is not expected to take to the saddle personally again during future Trooping the Colour [outings]," per GB News.

BBC presenter shares unborn baby's gender after 'miracle' pregnancy
Pregnant Morning Live star Michelle Ackerley has shared her "miracle" baby's gender. The TV personality announced that she was expecting her first baby while live on air last month. The 40-year-old has now said that she is expecting to have a little girl this October. She and her husband Ben Ryan have described their future daughter as a "miracle". Michelle has been open in the past about her fertility struggles and being diagnosed with endometriosis. Endometriosis is when tissues similar to the lining of the womb grow on the outside of it causing inflammation and pain which can also cause issues with fertility. Michelle told Hello!: "I'm expecting a little girl in October and it feels very special. When I found out I was pregnant, I told my husband, and he said this is a baby miracle." Speaking about her struggles with endometriosis while also announcing her pregnancy, Michelle wrote on her Instagram page: "I can't believe it's nearly been a year since getting married and I honestly didn't think 12months on that I'd be writing a post sharing that I'm pregnant…. "I know this kind of news can be difficult to read for some so I understand if you would rather scroll past on this. I wanted to share though as my journey with endometriosis and infertility is something I finally felt confident to start speaking about more openly last year - realising how many other women were going through similar experiences. "Feeling part of a community - especially when it comes to women's health can really make a difference. Even at the very start of this year I was gearing up for yet another endo procedure and trying to come to terms with the mental & physical impact they can have. "It has been quite the emotional rollercoaster. The news of falling pregnant really came as a massive surprise to both of us. We still can't quite believe it. "And so in October, the start of a new chapter begins for @benryan7s and I, albeit with nervous and cautious excitement." Ben and Michelle have a 13-year age gap and had been dating for years before they got engaged in 2023. They then went on to tie the knot in 2024 where Michelle looked stunning in a silky halter-neck gown. Ben is best known for being a former rugby star and coaching the Fiji National rugby team when he helped them win a gold medal at the Rio Olympics in 2016. Michelle has risen to fame over the years for her impressive TV career. Her most recent roles include hosting Morning Live as well as previously working on The One Show, World's Strongest Man and Watchdog.

Princess Anne praised for 'pushing boundaries' as she debuts stunning new look at Windsor Castle event
Princess Anne has been praised for "pushing the boundaries" after stepping out with a bold new beauty look during the Order of the Garter ceremony at Windsor Castle. The 74-year-old Princess Royal joined fellow senior royals for the annual event on Monday, marking the country's oldest and most prestigious order of chivalry. Founded nearly 700 years ago by King Edward III, the Order of the Garter is Britain's most senior Order of Chivalry. Princess Anne was appointed a Royal Knight of the Order, not a Royal Lady, in 1994 and took part in the grand procession through the castle grounds in full military regalia. Wearing a traditional Garter cloak and hat adorned with a large white feather, Anne turned heads with a subtle twist: a swipe of metallic pink lipstick, a departure from her usual no-fuss beauty look. Beauty editor Cassie Steer applauded the unexpected glam, telling Hello!: "Leave it to Anne to push beauty boundaries in the chicest of ways. "Reimagining classic lipstick colours such as red or pink as sparkling focal points is great for special occasions, and a metallic mouth- not to be confused with more sedate shimmer- adds a modern lustre." The royal, who rarely strays from a pared-back aesthetic, added further elegance with diamond and pearl button earrings, a feminine touch that echoed her sister-in-law Queen Camilla's choice of jewels. Camilla, 77, who led the parade alongside King Charles III, 75, wore her signature four-row pearl choker and a matching pair of diamond and pearl clip earrings. Watching the proceedings from St George's Chapel, Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, 60, and Princess Catherine, 43, also embraced the pearl theme. Sophie wore a pearl pendant and diamond drop earrings, while Catherine donned a pair of vintage-style pearl studs by designer Susan Caplan and a five-row necklace. Just two days earlier, the royal women had appeared together at Trooping the Colour, where Anne once again showcased pearls and a pop of colour on her lips. For that occasion, the Princess Royal wore her ceremonial uniform as Colonel of the Blues and Royals, a full mounted ensemble complete with bicorn hat, jodhpurs, and riding boots. She also wore the Collars of the Order of the Garter and the Sash of the Order of the Thistle. The event marked the mother-of-two's triumphant return to horseback duties following an injury last year. As Colonel, she rode in the procession on horseback alongside Prince William and Prince Edward, rather than travelling by carriage with the rest of the royal family.

Naga Munchetty's mum's response when she told her she wasn't having kids
Presenter, Naga Munchetty, who celebrated her 50th birthday in February, has opened up about her choice not to have children, which she admits did not go down well with her mum BBC Breakfast star, Naga Munchetty, admits her choice not to have children left her mum "devastated". The plucky presenter, who turned 50 in February, is one of the most recognisable faces on TV with a journalism career spanning more than 25 years. However, Naga chose not to have kids with her husband James Hagger, and says this initially caused a rift with her mother. Opening up about her personal decision after opting to be surgically sterilised in her forties after undergoing keyhole surgery to block her fallopian tubes in 2019, she said: "My mum was devastated, she is from a different generation." On why she opted not to have children while explaining that her mum was now more accepting of her choice, she told Hello! magazine: "It was a conscious (decision) and I am doing lots of other things and living a very fulfilling life. She doesn't think I've wasted an opportunity." Naga also said that parenthood was "exhausting" and a "commitment for life", as she told Saga magazine: 'We liked the life we had and we wanted to pursue that life. Parenthood is expensive, it's exhausting and a commitment for life. 'My mum will say, 'You're still my baby and I worry about you.' But I remember people saying, 'That's so wicked! How can you deny your parents grandchildren?' 'It was hard for Mum, but she understands now. She says, 'Naga, it would have been wonderful to have grandchildren, but equally, it's wonderful seeing what you're doing and who you've become.' Isn't that what we want for our children?" As well as her family life, Naga told Hello! about the crippling pain she suffered from adenomyosis, a gynaecological condition where the lining of the womb grows into the muscular wall of the womb. The BBC Breakfast presenter has now released a book, It's Probably Nothing, which examines the ways women's health concerns are often dismissed or downplayed in medical settings. Calling it "the evil twin of endometriosis", she said: "I was just exhausted. I thought all the other women in the world were coping and thriving, and that because I've dared to bring it up, I was (perceived as) weak." Naga said she had been suffering from the agonising womb condition, which was dismissed by doctors for 32 years. Appearing before the Women and Equalities Committee two years ago alongside Geordie Shore star, Vicky Pattison, the presenter said she only got answers about the agonising condition when she went private. Talking to Tory committee chairwoman Caroline Nokes, she said: "I started my period at 15. It would last for 11 or 12 days. Eight or nine of them were very heavy. I'd throw up on the first day, pass out once or twice during the cycle. I'd be wrapped around a toilet. I'd still go to school. I still went to work. Whenever I went to the doctor I was told it was normal." Explaining the impact the condition had on her private life, the presenter said it made "relationships difficult", but she'd thankfully had "understanding partners". She also said her adenomyosis, which is similar to endometriosis, has left her 'paranoid' about bleeding, forcing her to wear dark and loose clothing while on her period. She shared: "For work, I wouldn't sleep because I'd set an alarm at 2am to change the towel and super heavy tampon." Revealing her adenomyosis wasn't diagnosed until she was 47, Naga was asked by Ms Nokes: "So 32 years?", to which the Naga replied: "Yes".

Meghan Markle, Prince Harry staff shake-up: Four staffers part ways with the Sussexes
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have made a number of changes in their staffing once again, resulting in four members parting ways with the couple. As per a report by Hello!, staffers who left Harry and Meghan Markle's employ include UK press officer Charlie Gipson and Kyle Boulia, their Los Angeles-based deputy press secretary. The news comes amid the Duke and Duchess of Sussex bringing in new members, such as Meredith Maines, their first chief communications officer, earlier this year. She had previously worked for American Idol, Hulu and Google. According to the report by Hello!, two people from Meghan Markle's private team also departed in recent weeks. Meridith Maines addressed the couple's staffing changes in a statement to Page Six on Friday, June 13. 'As the Duke and Duchess's business and philanthropic interests grow, I have made the strategic decision to move toward a more traditional communications structure of specialist agency support, as previously reported in Forbes and PR Week several weeks ago,' she said. Maines added that the move to shift from a small team of two to an agency support staff of eight who work across five time zones was made to give international media and stakeholders better access to the couple. The transition would also help in faster response times to inquiries. A source quoted in the Hello! report said that there could be 'another change in the future.' The insider claimed that while Meghan Markle and Prince Harry employ 'some of the most incredible people at the top of their fields,' things do not work out with many of their employees. Last year, Ashley Hansen, the couple's head of communications and global press secretary left to start her own communications firm. Josh Kettler, the chief of staff of the Duke of Sussex, also parted ways after a trial period of three months in 2024. A few years ago, she told Femail that touching her hair was a "physical and psychological calming gesture" for her when she was feeling stressed or uncomfortable. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped back from royal duties to chart a new path, focusing more on their privacy and independent ventures. In 2003, she graduated with a Bachelor's degree in theatre and international studies from Northwestern University.
