Bored IIT graduate becomes a 'little shameless' on Instagram. He has life-changing experiences and conversations

Who is Harsh Pokharna? Not every founder story needs to be about pitch decks and product pivots. Sometimes, it's just about being human. Harsh Pokharna , CEO of Bengaluru-based fintech startup OkCredit and an IIT Kanpur graduate, recently gave the internet something refreshingly real. During a 1.5-month break at home in Jaipur, Harsh found himself slipping into a familiar lull—parents were thrilled to have him home, but he was, by his own admission, kind of bored. So, he decided to shake things up in the most Gen-Z way possible: by posting an Instagram story inviting people in Jaipur to meet followed was a low-key social experiment that turned into a deeply enriching experience. Harsh found himself going out almost daily—catching up with old friends, connecting with strangers from DMs, and indulging in conversations that ranged from the silly to the soul-stirring. Some chats were about food and therapy, others about breakups, startups, or dating apps. There were no rules, no agendas—just organic human connection in a world that's often too he didn't label the experience beyond 'wholesome,' the message was clear: sometimes all it takes to break out of a rut is a little shamelessness on Instagram and an open mind. His spontaneous 'Bumble for friends' in his hometown reminds us that meaningful interactions don't always come from planned networking or structured meetups—they can happen over coffee with a stranger or a walk with someone you haven't seen in the photos, he can be seen hanging out and relaxing with different people. One image shows him playing badminton, while another captures a moment from his pickleball session. Other pictures feature him enjoying a car ride, dining at a restaurant, and sipping coffee, offering a glimpse into his laid-back, people-filled days in Pokharna completed his in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Kanpur in 2014. After graduation, he gained valuable experience working with leading companies such as Intel Corporation, Flipkart, and Reliance Payment Solutions (JioMoney). In 2015, he ventured into entrepreneurship alongside his IIT Kanpur batchmates Gaurav Kumar and Aditya Prasad, co-founding ClanOut—a social discovery platform aimed at helping people connect and explore shared interests. Later, they co-founded the app OkCredit, where Pokharna is the CEO.

'Taare Zameen Par' was a reply to 'Baghban'': Harsh Gujral's hilarious take wins over Aamir Khan

Stand-up comedian Harsh Gujral brought the house down during a recent performance featuring none other than Aamir Khan in the audience. Harsh delivered a hilarious punchline connecting two emotionally charged films—'Baghban' and 'Taare Zameen Par', in his trademark witty style.. Addressing Aamir Khan directly during the act, Harsh said, 'Jitna bhi bachcha samajh hai na, uski taraf se thank you… 'Taare Zameen Par' pata hai kya thi sir? 'Baghban' ka jawab thi…' Witty remark wins over Aamir Khan The witty remark drew thunderous applause and laughter from the crowd. The 'Taare Zameen Par' actor seems to have enjoyed the humor. For those who have not understood the joke, Harsh's joke cleverly contrasted the central themes of the two films. 'Baghban' (2003) is an emotional story about an elderly couple neglected by their grown-up children. The movie starred Amitabh Bachchan and Hema Malini in lead roles. Why 'Baghban' connects with 'Taare Zameen Par'? 'Taare Zameen Par' (2007) focuses on the struggles of a misunderstood child. The movie highlighted the importance of parental understanding and emotional support in a child's formative years. This is in contrast to what 'Baghban' was about. Harsh's comment essentially flips the generational dynamic—while 'Baghban' depicted a lack of empathy from children towards their parents, 'Taare Zameen Par', symbolized the emotional needs of children being finally acknowledged by parents. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Giao dịch vàng CFDs với mức chênh lệch giá thấp nhất IC Markets Đăng ký Undo Netizens react The viral clip from the comedy event has struck a chord with fans across the internet. Guitar-strumming Noida teen hits high note with NEET-UG rank 9

Noida: In between intense study sessions and medical textbooks, the gentle strums of a guitar echoed through a Sector 119 apartment. For 18-year-old Harsh Kedawat, this musical interlude wasn't just a hobby — it was his "secret weapon" in cracking one of the country's toughest medical entrance examinations. The Vidya Bal Bhawan student secured an All India Rank 9 in the NEET-UG examination, whose results were declared on Saturday. He scored 675 out of 720, which included 345 out of 360 in biology. But behind these numbers lies the story of a balanced preparation that began in Class 11. Preparing for NEET-UG often demanded 10-12 hours of study every day, says Harsh. "But I didn't achieve it by giving up on everything," says the 18-year-old, who found his rhythm between academics and leisure. "Playing the guitar for 30-40 minutes daily in between study sessions helped clear my mind and refocus on my textbooks. This balance was crucial in maintaining a mental well-being," he tells TOI over phone. Born in Jaipur and raised in Noida, Harsh's journey was anchored by his chartered accountant father and homemaker mother, whose unwavering support complemented his dedication. His preparation strategy centred primarily on the NCERT syllabus, backed by guidance from a private coaching institute. But it is his holistic approach to exam preparation that sets Harsh apart. "I watched television, played outdoors, and attended school regularly. It's important not to feel claustrophobic by focusing solely on studies. Taking timely breaks and maintaining regular meal times are crucial parts of a good preparation schedule," he says. Harsh, who dreams of studying at AIIMS Delhi, has his sights set on a greater purpose. "My long-term goal is to become a doctor serving the underprivileged in rural areas. I want to eventually establish a hospital and help the poor access quality medical care," he says. The young achiever also has a piece of advice for future NEET aspirants. "Don't succumb to peer pressure. Maintain calm and focus on revision, especially in the crucial final months. Most importantly, don't forget to enjoy life while preparing."
