Four-day safety blitz results in almost 50 vehicles taken off the road
A four-day safety blitz in Grey Bruce region yielded significant results, as almost 50 vehicles were taken out of service.
The blitz, from June 10 to June 13, aimed to improve road safety and ensure compliance with transportation regulations.
Out of 96 commercial motor vehicle inspections, police reported 80 charges laid under the highway traffic act, 46 vehicles taken out of service and 55 warnings issued for minor infractions.

The enforcement initiative focused on identifying unsafe vehicles, unfit drivers and non-compliance with commercial vehicle regulations, in collaboration with Grey Bruce OPP, Ministry of Transportation, Ministry of Finance, Hanover Police Service, West Grey Police Service, Owen Sound Police Service and Saugeen Shores Police Service.
