Miley Cyrus Accused "Hannah Montana" Costars Of Smoking Weed On Set

Miley Cyrus has been spilling some behind-the-scenes secrets from her Disney Channel days. Although, there seems to be a bit of contention as to what the truth really is. As you may have noticed, Miley is everywhere at the moment, promoting her new album and its accompanying film. And while touring all the big podcasts, she stopped by for an appearance on the Sorry We're Cyrus pod, which happens to be hosted by her mom, Tish Cyrus, and her older sister, Brandi Cyrus. During a round of quickfire questions, Tish asked Miley to reveal 'a core memory from the Hannah Montana days that still makes [her] laugh,' to which her daughter replied without hesitation: 'Dad smoking pot and everyone blaming me for it.' For context, Miley and her real-life dad, Billy Ray Cyrus, starred together as a father-daughter duo on the iconic Disney Channel series, which aired from 2006 to 2011. Miley was just 13 years old when she made her Hannah Montana debut. Tish and Brandi burst out laughing at the reply. 'I do remember that,' Brandi said, as Miley called the situation 'hilarious.' Notably, Tish — who divorced Billy Ray in 2022 — even remembered being contacted about the alleged issue at the time, admitting that she was reluctant to believe it. 'They were calling me, saying B. Ray was smoking pot, and I was saying, 'Absolutely not. He would never do that,'' Tish recalled, adding that she instead placed the blame on Mitchel Musso, one of the other young actors on the show who played Oliver Oken. Responding to her mom, Miley agreed that it probably 'was Mitchel Musso' who was smoking weed on set, as well as her dad. 'It was Mitchel,' she said through laughter. 'It was both!' Well, not even a day after the podcast episode dropped, Mitchel himself has entered the chat to dispute Miley and Tish's claims. In a statement to E! News, Mitchel said: 'Well, that's not how I remember it. However, I've got plenty of stories from those years that might be worth having a conversation about. If we're revisiting Hannah Montana history — just say the word.' 'All love to Miley and the fam,' he concluded, 'even when the rewrites get this creative.' I'll let you make of that what you will. For what it's worth, Billy Ray hasn't addressed the claim yet, although we've reached out to his rep for comment.

Miley Cyrus claims she was once blamed for dad's Hannah Montana drug use

Miley Cyrus has claimed her dad Billy Ray Cyrus used to 'smoke pot' on the set of Hannah Montana – and she got the blame. The 32-year-old singer, who shot to fame playing a teenage school girl with a secret life as a pop star on the Disney Channel sitcom between 2006 and 2011, admitted the awkward moment was her most 'hilarious' memory from the series. During an appearance on her mother Tish Cyrus and sister Brandi Cyrus' Sorry We're Cyrus podcast, Miley was asked to share her funniest memory from the show. 'Dad smoking pot and everyone blaming me for it. It's hilarious,' she recalled. 'He wasn't sharing 'cause Tish wasn't toking yet.' Her mother laughed as she remembered the incident, and joked she tried to defend her then-husband – who she divorced in 2023 – while putting the blame on Miley's co-star Mitchel Musso. 'They were calling me, saying B-Ray was smoking pot, and I was saying: ''Absolutely not, he would never do that. It's Mitchel Musso,'' she quipped. Miley replied: 'Well, it was Mitchel. It was Mitchel Musso! It was both.' However, Mitchel – who played Miley's friend Oliver on the show – had different memories of the incident. 'Well, that's not how I remember it,' the 33-year-old former child star said in a statement to E! News. 'However, I've got plenty of stories from those years that might be worth having a conversation about. 'If we're revisiting Hannah Montana history – just say the word. All love to Miley and the fam … even when the rewrites get this creative.' Elsewhere during the chat with her mum and sister, Miley also revealed a recent incident in which her mother seemingly unfollowed her on Instagram after the singer went to see Billy Ray, 63. More Trending This sparked rumours of another family feud – but the singer has revealed it was actually just a 'bug' in the platform. 'If you were in the family or not in the family, it was weird timing. I went to see B-Ray, and you did mysteriously unfollow me – and then you got some backlash and suddenly knew how to press that follow button,' she joked. 'The truth is boring. There's a bug in Meta, it naturally unfollows the person that you follow with the most engagement … I was either, like: 'Mom lost her glasses and can't see,' which is what I thought happened. Then, there was actually a bug in Meta.' View More » Metro has contacted Billy Ray Cyrus' reps for comment. Got a story? Miley Cyrus reveals dad Billy Ray's marijuana use on Hannah Montana set was blamed on her

Miley Cyrus made a candid confession on the latest episode of the Sorry We're Stoned podcast with her mom Tish Cyrus and sister Brandi. The 32-year-old singer cleared the air about what went down behind the scenes of Hannah Montana, in which she starred alongside her dad Billy Ray Cyrus from 2006 to 2011. When a fan wrote in asking 'what's a core memory from the Hannah Montana days that still makes you laugh?', Miley replied: 'Dad smoking pot and everyone blaming me for it.' SCROLL DOWN FOR VIDEO Brandi, 38, confirmed: 'I do remember that.' Miley then pointed to Tish and added: 'And he wasn't sharing, cause this one wasn't toking yet.' Tish, 58, who's since been open about her marijuana use, recalled how she tried to defend her then-husband: 'They were calling me saying B-Ray' was smoking pot and I was like, "Absolutely not, he would never do that!"' Miley's former Hannah Montana castmate Mitchel Musso then took the blame instead. In January, Tish opened up about why she stopped smoking weed, despite previously embracing her status as a self-proclaimed stoner. She said: 'It was kind of by accident that I stopped smoking I went on vacation and it was somewhere I could not have pot and like three days in, had the worst anxiety I've ever had in my life. And when I tried to smoke again… Nope.' After quitting cold turkey, she realized that what once calmed her nerves had started to do the opposite. Smoking, which used to help with her anxiety, now 'makes it even worse'. Miley's road to fame was filled with family strife. She teased the whole family went through a 'really difficult, dark decade' but they were able to get through it. She revealed on the podcast that the family was able to mend their fences without therapy. 'We're so messy, we didn't even do any of that,' Miley joked of her family struggles, revealing the reason a therapist wasn't involved. She added: 'Just to get each other into a room to get to counseling would have been a war.' On last Tuesday's episode of Reclaiming with Monica Lewinsky, Miley admitted she 'had a lot of loyalty' to her mother Tish, who split with father Billy Ray back in 2022 after nearly 30 years of marriage. Before their official split and divorce that was finalized in 2023, Miley said that her parents were on-and-off, as she revealed how that affected her: 'I watched what happens when you don't clean things up as they're happening. 'They really do stack. And then all of the sudden you go, "Oh my God, it's been 10 years and this is a mess I barely even know how to start. This is emotional hoarding".' Ultimately, Miley said she 'cleaned all that up', adding: 'I just kind of busted through the pile that stacked and just [went], "I'm here, you're here, let's start by having a good time together and then as we start bringing some happiness and joy into each other's life, then we'll be in a better place to have these conversations".' And on Thursday, Miley sent fans into a frenzy on Thursday night as she made a surprise appearance at Beyonce's latest show in Paris. Beyonce told the crowd as she kicked off the concert: 'Paris, France, I have to say I'm very grateful to be on the stage. We have a very special show for y'all.' Later in the show, she revealed that Miley would be joining her on stage, adding: 'I love y'all so much. I'm super excited because I wanted to do something very special for your guys. Give it up. I'm so grateful to sing with you Ms Miley Cyrus. 'Please give it up for Miley.'
