Squid Game actor Yim Si-wan: I didn't read the script, I just knew I had to be in it
Korean singer and actor Yim Si-wan has built a strong filmography that showcases his range as a performer. Si-wan began his career as a member of the K-pop group ZE:A but it was his breakout role in The Attorney (2013) that earned him critical acclaim. Establishing himself as an actor with a knack for portraying complex and intense characters, he has since been part of several popular shows and films, including Misaeng (2014), Run On (2021), Emergency Declaration (2022), and Summer Strike (2023). Now, he returns in the final season of the mega-hit Squid Game. Si-wan plays Myung Gi, a.k.a. Player 333—a former cryptocurrency influencer whose misguided investment scheme results in heavy financial losses for both himself and his followers. On the run, Myung Gi enters the deadly game, only to come face to face with those he had wronged, including his now-pregnant former girlfriend, whom he had previously ghosted. The actor reveals that he tends to immerse himself deeply in the roles he plays—so much so that he carries his on-screen characters with him long after the shoot has ended. 'I'm not the type who can easily switch on and off—that is, go in and out of character. I carry my screen characters with me to a certain extent. Rather than detaching from them immediately, I find that these characters become part of me, etched into the fabric of my life.' In an exclusive interview with HT City, the actor shares that he accepted the part of Myung Gi without even reading the script, simply because he was a fan of Squid Game. 'The first time I saw the character of Myung Gi, he came across as someone who is constantly straddling the line between good and evil. But as the show progressed, he felt very human—someone who was not capable of making the right choices due to his greed. I think it's fair to say that he may not be purely evil, but rather, a foolish person.' Si-wan says that his takeaway from playing Myung Gi is that one should neither be too greedy nor make foolish investments out of greed. One of the most sought-after actors of his generation, the 36-year-old Si-wan is also listed among the Korean actors who represent the present and future of cinema. Having lent his voice to soundtracks for The King in Love, Tracer, and Boyhood, would Si-wan contemplate the possibility of an Indian collaboration? 'Going forward as an actor, I wish to continue to wrestle with my characters, make every effort to portray them diligently, and continue developing myself. One day, I sincerely hope to have the opportunity to perform in India,' he signs off with a smile.

Film producer Pahlaj Nihalani addressed rumours of marital discord between actor Govinda and his wife, Sunita Ahuja. Although Nihalani and Govinda had a falling out some years ago after working together on numerous projects, Nihalani also spoke about rumours of the actor's past affairs, and whether he's seeing a Marathi actress currently. He said that in no circumstances will Govinda and his wife ever separate, even though they recently confirmed that they'd filed for divorce. In recent months, Sunita has hinted at his infidelities in several interviews, but has rubbished suggestions that she followed through with the divorce. Asked if Govinda is seeing a Marathi actress, Nihalani said, 'Listen, nobody can get in between Sunita and Govinda's eternal love. Sunita speaks her mind, and Govinda never strays. Their marriage will survive even if he has 10 affairs. Plus, they've always lived separately. He always used to have his meetings in the other bungalow, because he sleeps late. She's always with him otherwise. He doesn't have a single film right now, but he does shows daily, and she handles his business matters.' In a previous interview, Sunita had said that she had stopped looking after his professional life. 'They are the best of friends,' he said. It was reported that Sunita filed for divorce from Govinda in 2024, but they sorted out their differences and are now back together. Govinda's manager, Shashi Sinha, suggested that Sunita had crossed the line in her interviews. 'Sunita ji ne jo recent interviews mein baatein boli hain, yeh unn sab ka nateeja hai. Unhone zyaada bol diya hai (Sunita maam said a lot of things in recent interviews, she said too much. This is the result). And you know Govinda sir… there is friction,' he told HT City. Sunita had also said in an interview with Hindi Rush that she and Govinda live separately, although she later walked back these comments. 'We have two houses, we have a bungalow opposite our apartment. I have my temple and my kids in the flat. We live in the flat whereas he gets late after his meetings. He loves talking so he'll gather 10 people and sit chatting with them. Whereas me, my son and my daughter live together, but we hardly talk because I feel if you end up wasting your energy by talking too much,' shared Sunita.

Actor Akshay Kumar, wife-author Twinkle Khanna and daughter Nitara Bhatia on Tuesday flew out of Mumbai for a family vacation. Several videos and pictures of the trio emerged on social media platforms. As the paparazzi surrounded them for photos, Twinkle Khanna asked Nitara to move to the other side. She and Akshay then briefly posed for the camera. A paparazzo then moved towards Nitara, positioning his camera to click her photo. As Akshay saw it, he grabbed the person by the neck and gently pulled him away. Twinkle was seen suppressing a laugh. The paparazzi was heard apologising as Akshay smiled. Twinkle grabbed Nitara's hand and walked away. As Akshay was about to enter the airport terminal, a paparazzo asked him for a picture, and he obliged. He also bid them goodbye. The actor will be seen with Vishnu Manchu in the upcoming film Kannappa. Directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh, Kannappa also stars Prabhas, Mohanlal, Mohan Babu, Kajal Aggarwal and Preity Mukhundhan. Fans will also see Akshay in Bhooth Bangla, helmed by Priyadarshan. The film will also star Tabu and Paresh Rawal. Bhooth Bangla, produced by Shobha Kapoor and Ekta Kapoor's Balaji Telefilms, along with Akshay's Cape of Good Films, is scheduled for release on April 2, 2026. Wamiqa Gabbi is rumoured to play a significant role.

Jackson Wang on meeting Hrithik Roshan during his current India visit: Hopefully, I will be in Krrish 4
Jackson Wang is in Mumbai and is loving being back in India, again. Two years after his performance at Lollapalooza, the singer says this time is special. 'I am here as a person- to feel the city, meet the locals, and just go around being a human being, seeing with my own eyes and experiencing the traditional culture, food, sport and the people. Though I have been here two days, I feel I have been here for three years. The night life is amazing as well.' Actor Hrithik Roshan hosted a party to welcome Jackson Wang in Mumbai. Can we hope for a possible collaboration between the two in the future? Calling Hrithik a 'super legendary icon' Jackson says, 'He is a champ himself. I am not sure, he is super busy like everyone else. I've heard he is preparing for Krrish 4. Hopefully I will be in Krrish 4, where I come out and die right away,' he laughs. The singer has also embarked on a new chapter with his latest album, Magic Man 2, which is all set to release on July 18. The singer once again rekindles his relationship with his enigmatic alter ego- Magic Man. The album is an evocative narrative exploring the juxtaposition of his public and personal image. 'This is more about what I want to say as a person. Am I the Jackson Wang the audience know, or the Jackson Wang I know. It chronicles my own struggles and the ups and downs I experienced when I entered the industry at 19 years of age. There is a lot that I missed out on in my youth and went on to experience and witness all that I did at such a young age,' he tells HT City in an exclusive interview. His album is divided in four thematic chapters titled Manic Highs, Losing Control, Realization and Acceptance. 'I had never talked about how I feel about life, the industry or reality? How did I feel when I was going through these all these experience at different stages in life.' The singer's recent collaboration BUCK with Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh is already topping the charts. Calling Diljit a superstar legendary icon whom he is a fan of Jackson recalls, 'I was so amazed with his impactful performance at Coachella and thought I would be blessed if I could collaborate with him someday. When I wrote Buck, I asked him if you vibe with it, please give it a try. He gave me such moral support and respect as an artist I have been lucky to have this experience.' The 31 -year-old Chinese rapper found his record label Team Wang in 2017. He released his first solo album Mirrors in 2019. His sophomore album Magic Man was followed three years later. 'I try to be me. Honesty and authenticity are the essence of my brand and music. Earlier I wanted to be cool, but now I realise being cool is being consistent with being you,' he answers thoughtfully.

Gauri Khan, renowned interior designer and wife of Shah Rukh Khan, was seen heading back home to Mumbai from Delhi with daughter Suhana Khan, while making a conscious effort to steer clear of photographers gathered there. Gauri Khan shares update on renovation work Gauri and her daughter, Suhana, were spotted at the airport in Delhi on Wednesday, where they avoided photographers' pleas for photo opportunities. For her airport look, Gauri chose a relaxed outfit consisting of loose jeans, a white top, and a stylish white jacket. Suhana kept it casual and chic in jeans and a black T-shirt, adding a splash of colour to her outfit with a vibrant blue bag. Gauri Khan and Suhana were spotted wearing shades, complementing their outfits. Several videos, which have surfaced on social media, show Gauri and her daughter Suhana navigating through the airport in Delhi. They were attempting to keep a low profile at the airport, deliberately avoiding the paparazzi's cameras and attention. Gauri Khan was seen approaching the photographers at one point, asking them not to take pictures of her and Suhana. Gauri is also the co-owner of Red Chillies Entertainment and has credits on Shah Rukh Khan's films like Main Hoon Na and Chennai Express, among others. Suhana made her acting debut with Netflix's film The Archies in December 2023. It was directed by Zoya Akhtar. It also starred Khushi Kapoor, Agastya Nanda, Dot, Mihir Ahuja, Vedang Raina and Yuvraj Menda. Suhana will next be seen in King with Shah Rukh. King was supposed to be directed by Sujoy Ghosh earlier. However, Siddharth Anand later took over as the director. Jackie Shroff, Anil Kapoor, Arshad Warsi, Rani Mukerji, Abhishek Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Jaideep Ahlawat, and Abhay Verma are also reportedly part of the film.
