Multi-sports hub to come up in city's heart at Mor Hindi School

1 2 3 4 5 6 Nagpur: The Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) is set to convert the now-defunct Barrister Sheshrao Wankhede Vidya Niketan, popularly known as Mor Hindi School in Ramdaspeth, into a dedicated multi-sport facility including skating, badminton and basketball courts with a proposed budget of Rs40–Rs50 lakh. Taking cognisance of long-pending demands from locals, NMC commissioner and administrator Dr Abhijeet Chaudhari on Friday visited the site and directed officials to immediately clear the premises and prepare a detailed plan for the sports development. As the school remained closed for several years, residents urged the civic body to make productive use of the available open ground and infrastructure by introducing recreational and sport facilities. Currently, the premises house the advanced Young Kalam Science Centre operated by HCL Foundation. Another section of the building is used by the Dharampeth zone office to store old education department material, Covid-era supplies, and equipment seized during anti-encroachment drives. Assistant commissioner Snehalata Kumbhar informed that a contractor was already appointed to dispose of these old items and will clear the premises in the coming week. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Memperdagangkan CFD Emas dengan salah satu spread terendah? One is with StartupTN and the other with the Department of Employment and Training (DET), to enhance entrepreneurship and vocational education in the State. StartupTN, under the Department of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Government of Tamil Nadu, promotes innovation and start-ups and operates as a registered Section 8 company. 'Through this collaboration, we aim at supporting 100 startups over the next three years — providing mentoring, incubation, market linkage, and liaison support to help them scale and succeed,' said Sivarajah Ramanathan, CEO & Mission Director, StartupTN. This MoU for three years aims at fostering entrepreneurship among Tamil Nadu's youth, promote inclusive innovation and strengthen the State's start-up ecosystem for sustainable development and economic growth. This five-year initiative aims at strengthening the vocational education system in the State through several measures, including the deployment of a 'Skill Rath' (mobile lab and awareness unit) to increase outreach in communities, the upgradation of curriculum in select trades, training programs for both students and trainers of Government ITIs and the promotion of sports to encourage holistic development. 'As India advances in technological innovation, it is imperative that our youth are equipped with future-ready skills such as artificial intelligence, robotics, and other emerging technologies,' Mr. Chandran said. 'By providing access to vocational education and supporting startups, we aim at creating sustainable opportunities that will contribute to the holistic development of the State,' said Nidhi Pundhir.
