Steve Buscemi looks unrecognizable as he takes on new role in Wednesday season 2

Fans of Netflix 's Wednesday will be greeted by a familiar face like you've never seen him before when they return to Nevermore Academy in Season 2. The streaming service released a new video on Wednesday, which confirms an iconic actor has joined the cast for this new season. He will be portraying the new principal of Nevermore Academy, Barry Dort, who takes over for previous principal Larissa Weems (Gwendoline Christie). The video appears to be a recruitment video of sorts, with Barry trying to convince prospective students that he is turning the school around with him in charge. They even launched a new website - - where fans are invited to 'apply' for the fictional school showcased in the series, starring Jenna Ortega as the title character. So who is playing this new principal trying to bring Nevermore Academy to new heights? It's none other than Steve Buscemi! The 67-year-old actor is clad in a purple suit, explaining to viewers, 'Last year, this school, this sanctuary, came under attack, thanks to my predecessor, Larissa Weems.' They show Weems' portrait being removed from the school, as Dort says, 'Her repugnant devotion to all things normie was a disaster, but I relish every opportunity to right her wrongs,' as they go past his own official portrait. He also lays out his plan to restore the school to its former glory by 'replenishing its ranks with a new batch of eager, young outcasts.' Barry then joins Pugsley Addams (Isaac Ordonez), an incoming freshman at Nevermore, seen controlling lightning bolts with his hands, who Barry says is, 'still learning to control his outcast ability.' He adds that, 'whatever kind of outcast you are, you'll find a home at Nevermore, as she passes Bianca Barclay (Joy Sunday), who says, 'Because here, we celebrate what makes us unique.' Barry and Bianca both pass Jenna Ortega's title character and her roommate Enid (Emma Myers), with Enid continuing, 'And we can become our true selves,' while a droll Wednesday adds, 'Even if that true self resembles nails on a chalkboard.' The video wraps up with Barry standing on a Nevermore statue above many of his students, adding, 'So what are you waiting for? Seize your chance to join the new Nevermore, because Nevermore is never better!' The teaser concludes by revealing that Part 1 of Wednesday Season 2 debuts on the streaming service August 6, with Part 2 following September 3. The teaser concludes by revealing that Part 1 of Wednesday Season 2 debuts on the streaming service August 6, with Part 2 following September 3 Series star Jenna Ortega caused many fans to be angry with her after an interview with Harper's Bazaar, where she revealed that she was 'an unhappy person' once she received all of the attention from Wednesday. 'After the pressure, the attention - as somebody who's quite introverted, that was so intense and so scary.' And although Ortega is returning to the show for a second season, she opened up about how doing the show comes with cons - especially for the future of her career. 'I'm doing a show I'm going to be doing for years where I play a schoolgirl, but I'm also a young woman,' she added.

File Photo by Rune Hellestad/UPI | License Photo June 17 (UPI) -- Netflix is previewing the second and final season of The Sandman. A trailer released Tuesday features an asteroid hurtling to the Earth, beasts, gunfire and explosions. "The dreaming will survive even if do not," says Dream, or Morpheus (Tom Sturridge), in the teaser. The preview also features Game of Thrones actress Gwendoline Christie, who portrays Lucifer. "Lord Morpheus comes to us in a futile attempt to free one he loves from our domain," she says. "Hell is anticipating his visit most avidly." Allan Heinberg, the showrunner, writer and executive producer, told Netflix's Tudum the upcoming season will see Dream learning to face his own arrogance and ignorance. "...Sooner or later, we all have to reckon with the fact that the struggles we face are often of our own making. Dream must now figure out what to do about it," he said. The streamer previously announced the episode titles for Season 2, which include "Season of Mists," "The Ruler of Hell," "More Devils Than Vast Hell Can Hold," "Brief Lives," "The Song of Orpheus," Family Blood," "Time and Night," "Fuel for the Fire," "The Kindly Ones," "Long Live the King," "A Tale of Graceful Ends" and "Death: The High Cost of Living." The cast also includes Adrian Lester, Kirby Howell-Baptiste, Mason Alexander Park, Donna Preston, Esme Creed-Miles, Patton Oswalt, Vivienne Acheampong, Jenna Coleman, Ferdinand Kingsley, Stephen Fry, Barry Sloane, Ruairi O'Connor, Indya Moore, Ann Skelly, Douglas Booth, Freddie Fox, Laurence O'Fuarain, Clive Russell, Jack Gleeson and Steve Coogan. Neil Gaiman's comic book series inspired the fantasy drama, which arrives in two parts. Six episodes arrive July 24, and five more premiere July 31.

All hell is about to break loose in new trailer for The Sandman season 2

Were it not for Neil Gaiman getting caught up in a sexual misconduct scandal, Netflix's live-action adaptation of The Sandman comics could have run for much longer given how much source material there is to be pulled from. But you can see in the new trailer for the show's second and final season that the streamer is going to try to fit in as many of Dream's remaining stories as it possibly can. Though the dead aren't meant to be able to escape hell, there is nothing Dream (Tom Sturridge) won't do to free his beloved Nada (Deborah Oyelade) from eternal damnation in The Sandman 's new trailer. Lucifer (Gwendoline Christie) would like nothing more than to make good on their promise to one day murder Dream — an action that would plunge the mortal and magical realms into chaos. But with so much on the line, it seems like all of Dreams's Endless siblings — Death (Kirby Howell-Baptiste), Destiny (Adrian Lester), Destruction (Barry Sloane), Despair (Donna Preston), Desire (Mason Alexander Park), and Delirium (Esmé Creed-Miles) — are going to be willing to help him do the impossible. As Gizmodo notes, the trailer's shots make it clear that the new season is going to tackle a number of classic The Sandman comics stories including 'Tales in the Sand,' 'A Midsummer Night's Dream,' and 'The Song of Orpheus' over the course of its 12 episodes. That's probably going to make the season feel pretty dense, but Netflix has (smartly, to be honest) decided to release the episodes in a few batches. Volume 1 debuts with six episodes on July 3rd, Volume 2 drops July 24th, and The Sandman 's final episode premieres on July 31st.

Full Trailer for THE SANDMAN Season 2 Sees Dream Go to Hell in an Effort to Save His World — GeekTyrant

Netlfix has released the full trailer for The Sandman Season 2, which will give us the big series finale with a two-part final season. The trailer sees Dream (Tom Sturridge) make his way to Hell in an effort to save his world as it falls apart. Gwendoline Christie's Lucifer seem ready for this confrontation as she warns, "Lord Morpheus comes to us in a futile attempt to free one he loves from our domain. Hell is awaiting his visit most avidly." There's a lot of cool footage packed into this trailer and it's filled with beautiful gothic visuals! I loved what the first season delivered, and I'm looking forward to seeing how the creative team brings tis story to a close after only two seasons. In the next season: 'After a fateful reunion with his family, Dream of the Endless must face one impossible decision after another as he attempts to save himself, his kingdom, and the waking world from the epic fallout of his past misdeeds. 'To make amends, Dream must confront longtime friends and foes, gods, monsters, and mortals. But the path to forgiveness is full of unexpected twists and turns, and true absolution may cost Dream everything. 'Based on the beloved award-winning DC comic series, the second season of The Sandman will tell Dream's story arc in full to its thrilling conclusion.' The Sandman comes from showrunner Allan Heinberg, who had already planned that the second season to be it's last before it was filmed in the summer of 2023. Netflix didn't confirm the end of the show until January of this year, around the same time of the sexual misconduct accusations made against The Sandman graphic novel author and series executive producer Neil Gaiman. The Sandman Season 2 also stars Kirby Howell-Baptiste, Mason Alexander Park, Donna Preston, Esmé Creed-Miles, Adrian Lester, Barry Sloane, Patton Oswalt, Vivienne Acheampong, Gwendoline Christie, Jenna Coleman, Ferdinand Kingsley, Stephen Fry, Asim Chaudhry, Sanjeev Bhaskar, Razane Jammal, Ruairi O'Connor, Freddie Fox, Clive Russell, Laurence O'Fuarain, Ann Skelly, Douglas Booth, Jack Gleeson, Indya Moore and Steve Coogan. Jamie Childs directed all Season 2 episodes and it was produced by Warner Bros. Television for Netflix. Netflix has split Season 2 into two volumes, the first consisting of six episodes, which will launch on July 3. The second part will consist of five episodes and those will drop on July 24.
