Your Samsung Galaxy Watch is getting these new fitness features soon in a free update
Samsung's just revealed its next major free update for Galaxy Watches. One UI 8 Watch is on the way later this year, and will first launch as a beta. It's packing some serious new fitness features that are going to give your smartwatch a major upgrade. A new feature called Bedtime Guidance sifts through three days of your sleep data to suggest the best bedtime for you, in an attempt to get your circadian rhythm to behave like a responsible adult. Then there's something called Vascular Load. This tracks the stress on your vascular system while you sleep. Basically, your Galaxy Watch is now judging your arteries. If things are a bit too turbulent in your bloodstream overnight, it could be a sign your heart's not doing so well. It'll use this data to gently prod you towards healthier choices – whether that's more sleep, less stress, and so on. Speaking of running, there's also a new Running Coach. It uses data from a quick 12-minute jog to give you a running score and build a plan that'll apparently take you from couch potato to 10K runner. Or at least help you not destroy your knees in the process. It even adapts as you improve – so long as you wear your Galaxy Watch each time you pound the pavement. Antioxidant Index supposedly checks your skin's carotenoid levels in just five seconds. Carotenoids being the good stuff you get from veggies that fight off free radicals. It might sound gimmicky, but if seeing your antioxidant levels jump after a week of carrot juice encourages you to actually eat something green, I'm all for it. This whole suite of features is landing later this year as part of the free One UI 8 Watch update. Before that, though, it's heading into beta. Samsung's being tight-lipped on the exact release date, but expect it later this year. The update will roll out to the latest Galaxy Watch series, including the Galaxy Watch 6 and newer models.

Minor rape survivor refuses abortion, withdraws plea before Delhi HC; shifted to shelter home for care
By Dhiraj Beniwal New Delhi [India], June 10 (ANI): A minor rape survivor has informed the Delhi High court of her decision to carry her 29-week pregnancy to term, going against her parents' wishes. Consequently, she withdrew the petition that had sought permission for medical termination of the pregnancy. Acknowledging her plea for alternative accommodation, the court directed that the girl be housed at Nirmal Chhaya, a shelter home in Delhi, and ordered authorities to ensure her proper care during the remainder of her pregnancy. During the hearing before the bench of Justice Harish Vaidyanathan Shankar, the minor stated that her parents are opposing her decision. As a result, she may be unable to stay at her parental home. She prayed that the court pass directions to provide her with accommodation in a shelter home. 'In view of the above, this Court is of the view that the Petitioner can be accommodated in Nirmal Chhaya, Hari Nagar, Delhi,' Justice Shankar said in an order passed on June 4. 'Let necessary steps be taken by the Investigation Officer in conjunction with the authorities of Nirmal Chhaya, Hari Nagar and the concerned authorities of the Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi, for ensuring that Ms. K is kept in safe custody,' Justice Shankar ordered. The court also directed the authorities concerned to ensure that Ms. X's pregnancy goes through without any difficulty and to provide all such support as required. In view of the minor's wish, the petition was dismissed as withdrawn. Advocate Anwesh Madhukar appeared for her petitioner. The High Court was dealing with a petition moved by parents on behalf of their minor daughter seeking permission to terminate her 29-week pregnancy, which occurred on account of sexual assault. An FIR was also registered in this case by the Delhi Police. The High Court, while hearing the petition on May 29, gave directions for the constitution of a medical board at Deen Dayal Upadhyay (DDU) Hospital to examine the victim. The board submitted a report on May 30. The board had opined that it is not medically safe for the Petitioner to undergo termination of the pregnancy, considering the gestation period and her current medical condition. She was administered two units of blood in the hospital, two doctors said, as her haemoglobin level was low. Thereafter, the High Court directed the doctors at DDU Hospital to provide all necessary medical treatment to the Petitioner to address her current symptoms of low haemoglobin, infection, and fever. The MTP Board of DDU Hospital shall review the Petitioner's case after giving her the necessary treatment and furnish a fresh opinion thereon. After carefully assessing her physical and mental health, as per the MTP Act, MTP (Amendment) Rules, 2021, as well as the 'Guidance Note for Medical Boards for Termination of Pregnancy Beyond 20 weeks of Gestation', of 14th August, 2017, issued by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. The High Court has also called for a fresh report in this regard, which shall positively be submitted for the perusal of this Court, on or before the next date of hearing. On the next hearing, the petitioner refused to terminate the pregnancy and withdrew the petition. (ANI)

Saudi authorities furnish Namirah Mosque with 125,000 sq. m of carpets to serve Hajj pilgrims
MAKKAH: Saudi authorities have furnished the Namirah Mosque near Mount Arafat, an essential holy site for Muslim pilgrims during Hajj, with thousands of square meters of carpets. The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance announced on Wednesday that Namirah Mosque has been fully prepared and upgraded to receive pilgrims, of whom 1.25 million embarked on Wednesday on pilgrimage. The mosque was furnished with 125,000 sq. m of luxurious carpets to provide comfort for Hajj pilgrims, while its backyard was equipped with 19 canopies capable of reducing heat by an average of 10 degrees Celsius. Reflective paint was applied to the floor, and 117 fog fans were installed in the surrounding courtyards to reduce temperatures by an average of 9 degrees Celsius, the ministry added. Namirah Mosque is ready to welcome hundreds of thousands of pilgrims on the Day of Arafat, which begins on the evening of June 4 and ends on June 5. Afterward, the pilgrims will proceed to the holy sites of Muzdalifah and Mina. The ministry has upgraded the mosque's ventilation, air conditioning and purification system to monitor carbon dioxide levels and to allow for 100 percent air renewal every 30 minutes. To create a healthier environment for pilgrims, the ministry has installed 70 water chillers; each unit can serve up to 2,000 pilgrims an hour, with a total capacity of quenching the thirst of 140,000 pilgrims an hour. In addition, it has updated the site's audio system and security surveillance cameras. Namirah Mosque is one of the largest in the world, accommodating nearly 400,000 worshippers at once. It features 72 gates and entrances. Muslims believe that the Prophet Muhammad delivered his last sermon at this site.
