Man accused of break-ins at supportive housing development
Guelph Police have charged a 41-year-old man after repeated break-ins were reported inside a supportive housing development. He allegedly went into an area of the building where he wasn't allowed and tampered with the door. Police said he damaged the door's lock. He then tried to get into another resident's unit, and also ended up damaging the unit's key card reader. The damage was estimated at $1,200 total. Police arrested the 41-year-old on Thursday. After his arrest, officers said they found a small amount of suspected fentanyl. The man was charged with break and enter, two counts of mischief, possessing a controlled substance and three counts of breaching court orders.

One person allegedly assaulted by three men in Guelph
Guelph Police say a man was beaten up by three others after they were allegedly harassing his friend. Officers were called to Macdonell Street around 1:45 a.m. Friday. A man in his 20s told them three men he didn't know were harassing his female friend before he stepped in. The trio then turned on the man and allegedly began to punch and kick him. The three men were last seen leaving in a black pickup truck. The victim was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

One person charged in three-vehicle crash southwest of Guelph
One person charged in three-vehicle crash just southwest of Guelph, June 18, 2025 (Courtesy: OPP). One person was charged for a crash that happened in southwest of Guelph on Wednesday. First responders were called to the intersection of Paisley Road and Township Road 1 in Guelph/Eramosa Township around 5:30 p.m. Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) said one of the drivers was taken to hospital with minor, non-life-threatening injuries. The other two drivers involved were not hurt. A 28-year-old from Kitchener was charged with failing to yield to traffic on a highway.

Stolen van found on fire outside Guelph business

At around 2 a.m., first responders were called to a business on Southgate Drive. An employee told police they heard a noise outside and found the van on fire. The Guelph Fire Department extinguished the flames. Police said the van had been reported stolen from Hamilton on June 14. They asked anyone with information to call Const. Brampton man arrested after Guelph police officer dragged by vehicle
One of the new marked hybrid Guelph police cars. (@GuelphPolice) A Brampton man who allegedly dragged an officer while trying to flee from Guelph Police was arrested on Wednesday. On Monday, someone reported a possible theft at a business on Woodlawn Road West around 12:15 p.m. Three men were believed to be involved. An officer found two men sitting in a black Mercedes and used his cruiser to block the vehicle in. According to police, when the officer asked the driver to give him the keys to the vehicle, the driver held up the keys and, before the officer could grab them, the driver suddenly reversed the Mercedes. The officer was allegedly dragged briefly, but was not seriously hurt. Police said the driver drove around the officer's cruiser and sped away from the parking lot. The driver was later identified. On Wednesday, a 40-year-old man from Brampton was arrested. He was charged with dangerous driving, assault with a weapon and flight from police.
