Notre Dame's newest commit Grayson McKeogh does a backflip that has gone viral

Notre Dame's newest commit Grayson McKeogh does a backflip that has gone viral Almost a year ago, Notre Dame football's newest commit Grayson McKeogh posted a video on social media showing his impressive athleticism. The 6-foot, 8-inch and 275-pound offensive tackle committed to the Irish on Wednesday afternoon, joining four others in what could be one of the nation's best collection of 2026 offensive lineman. While McKeogh isn't the highest rated, he might have the highest ceiling. As a former high school scout, anytime I looked at an offensive lineman, especially a tackle, it was all about frame and athleticism, and McKeogh has checked off all of those boxes. He reminds me a lot of former Notre Dame star Joe Alt, the size of both of them being almost exactly the same, and the fact that recruiting sites had them both underrated. The fact that McKeogh plays basketball as well is a big plus, as you can't just be a big body on the court, you have to be able to move well laterally. Those skills translate over to the football field, which is another reason why I believe his ceiling is very high. It's an impressive feat for any human that large to be able to pull off a backflip, but McKeogh does it with relative ease. There is no doubt in my mind that Notre Dame got a very good one on Wednesday, as you can see his impressive athletic feat below.

Class Impact: Notre Dame Lands Tackle Grayson McKeogh

Class Impact: Notre Dame Lands Tackle Grayson McKeogh originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Notre Dame added another big time talent to its 2026 recruiting class by landing a commitment from offensive tackle Grayson McKeogh. The Wyndmoor (Pa.) LaSalle College High School standout made his decision after an official visit to South Bend. Notre Dame beat Penn State and Texas to land McKeogh. Advertisement Let's break down how his commitment impacts the Notre Dame 2026 class. NOTRE DAME CLASS IMPACT McKeogh is the 17th player to commit to Notre Dame in the 2026 class. He's the 10th offensive player to commit, with half of the offensive commitments being offensive lineman. Coming into his class Notre Dame was looking to land at least four offensive linemen, something the staff accomplished even before McKeogh committed. What the four-man haul it landed before McKeogh lacked as a pure offensive tackle, and that's what makes this commitment so important. Notre Dame landed three players with tackle skills in the 2025 class when it signed Will Black, Owen Strebig and Matty Augustine. Black is a pure tackle, but both Strebig and Augustine could play guard. Even if all three stay at tackle there is no doubt Notre Dame needed at least one tackle in this class. Patrick and Nichols could potentially play tackle, but their best positions are arguably inside. Landing McKeogh means at least one player in the 2026 class has his highest ceiling on the outside. NOTRE DAME FIT Notre Dame has thrived recruiting and producing offensive tackles over the last 15 years, so the standard is high at the position. McKeogh has the kind of raw talent to fit into that tradition. With Mike Denbrock running the offense, Notre Dame also needs tackles that can not only be high level run blockers, it also needs players that can dominate in pass protection. McKeogh has the tools to be at least a solid run blocker, but there's potential for his run production to be outstanding. But where he projects best right now is in pass protection, an area where he could be elite. That's what makes him a pure left tackle prospect in the Notre Dame offense. FILM ANALYSIS McKeogh has a very unique frame. He's all of 6-7 but right now he only weighs about 260-270 pounds. The Pennsylvania standout is still quite lean but he has the frame to easily get over 300 pounds. His frame reminds me a lot of former Notre Dame tackle and Pennsylvania native Mike McGlinchey from a frame standpoint. I also don't think McKeogh will need a lot of time to put on that good weight, and perhaps by his second season he could have what he needs size wise. The frame is certainly there, including having outstanding length, which is a huge plus on the edge as a tackle. Advertisement Like most young linemen, McKeogh will need to keep adding strength, both upper and lower body. Despite the lack of ideal girth, McKeogh shows good power for his size. He has strong hands and plays with some pop, and he is able to get very good movement in the run game as a prep player. As he fills out and gets stronger this could become a major strength of his game even at the college level. McKeogh certainly has the demeanor you want in an offensive linemen. He's aggressive, he's physical, he plays with some attitude and he is already a strong finisher, despite being basically a first-year offensive lineman. What makes McKeogh a truly top level prospect is that he combines big time athleticism with that length, size potential and playing style. As a sophomore he was more of a defensive end, and he showed D1 ability at that position. Despite adding a lot of weight as a junior, McKeogh showed impressive foot quickness and speed. He's extremely quick out of his stance and shows high level change of direction skills. That's a must for an offensive tackle in the Notre Dame offense. As a run blocker, McKeogh comes off the line with impressive foot quickness, and his leg drive is surprisingly advanced for a guy who is relatively new to the position. He plays with good power and surprisingly good pad level, which helps him be a strong player at the point of attack despite being 6-7. There is a lot of technical work needed, but I'm impressed with how quickly he's picked up the position and the feel he has for the position as well. Grayson McKeogh, a 4-star 2026 offensive tackle, commits to Notre Dame football

Grayson McKeogh, a 4-star 2026 offensive tackle, commits to Notre Dame football This past weekend's official visitors for Notre Dame look like it was a big success, and on Wednesday marked the first commitment following the action. Pennsylvania offensive tackle Grayson McKeogh committed to the Irish over the Texas Longhorns and the Penn State Nittany Lions. The 6-foot, 8-inch and 285-pound star lineman is ranked as the nation's No. 262 overall prospect and the No. 20 offensive tackle in the nation by the 247Sports Composite. McKeogh now gives Notre Dame five commitments along the offensive line, one that could make up the core of that position for years to come. The newest addition could end up being the best, as he's a true left tackle with a frame that resembles another former Irish star in Joe Alt. While McKeogh might not have the immediate impact that Alt did for Notre Dame, he has the potential to end up going the same route, as a multi-year starter and an early NFL draft pick. This is another huge recruiting win for the Irish.

2026 Rivals250 OT Grayson McKeogh commits to Notre Dame

Class of 2026 four-star offensive tackle Grayson McKeogh is Notre Dame bound. McKeogh announced his commitment to the Fighting Irish on Wednesday, after intially targeting July 1 for his decision date. McKeogh is coming off of an official visit to Notre Dame this past weekend (June 13 through June 15). Advertisement Prior to that, he took an official visit to Penn State during the weekend of June 6 through June 8. McKeogh was also planning a trip to Texas this coming weekend (June 20 through June 22) for his official visit in Austin, but he will no longer make that trek after Notre Dame was able to secure his pledge. The La Salle College High School (Wyndmoor, Pennsylvania) standout ranks as the No. 210 prospect overall in the Rivals250. He also ranks as the No. 4 recruit in the state of Pennsylvania and No. 23 offensive tackle in the 2026 cycle. At Notre Dame, McKeogh will play under head coach Marcus Freeman, offensive coordinator/tight ends coach, Mike Denbrock, offensive line coach Joe Ruldoph and the rest of the staff. While Notre Dame competes as an independent instead of in a conference, the Fighting Irish met the criteria in which McKeogh was searching for in a college program. Advertisement "The biggest things in my recruitment are athletic reputation, conference (or competition), academics and campus/social life," McKeogh previously told In addition to the schools mentioned, McKeogh has received scholarship offers from Alabama, Boston College, Duke, Florida, Indiana, Maryland, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina State, Northwestern, Ohio State, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, Stanford, Syracuse, Tennessee, Wake Forest, West Virginia, Wisconsin and others. The 6-foot-8, 280-pound McKeogh earned first-team All-State honors as a junior in 2024. He also plays basketball for La Salle. In the classroom, he carries a 4.14 grade point average. Advertisement With McKeogh joining the class, Notre Dame's 2026 class now includes 17 total pledges. McKeogh is the fifth offensive lineman in that group. He joins fellow four-stars Sullivan Garvin, Tyler Merrill, Ben Nichols and Gregory Patrick. The Fighting Irish currently rank fifth in the national recruiting team rankings. Notre Dame got crystal ball picks for Grayson McKeogh, Khary Adams, Joey O'Brien and more

Notre Dame got crystal ball picks for Grayson McKeogh, Khary Adams, Joey O'Brien and more Notre Dame football could be going on another commitment run, and if what has transpired over the last day is correct, it's going to be happening. On Tuesday and Wednesday, the Irish got multiple projections for top players to end up in South Bend. We covered the news of Arizona wide receiver Devin Fitzgerald trending to Notre Dame, along with canceling his official visit to North Carolina. That wasn't the only positive recruiting news for the Irish as Connecticut offensive tackle Charlie Thom, who just got his offer yesterday, is expected to join the class according to On3's Mike Singer. Notre Dame is looking for another tackle in the 2026 class, and he'd be a great addition. Staying with that group of insiders, Steve Wiltfong also made a few Irish projections for offensive tackle Grayson McKeogh and cornerback Khary Adams, while also joining in on Fitzgerald. The positive developments didn't end there, as 247Sports also put in crystal ball picks for McKeogh, Adams, safety Nick Reddish, Fitzgerald and safety Joey O'Brien. It's pretty safe to say that this past weekends official visitors trips were a huge success. We will find out shortly if these projections hold true, but it's looking like Notre Dame will be adding more than a few elite prospects over the next few months.
