TaylorMade unveils its Qi35 Designer Series drivers
TaylorMade unveils its Qi35 Designer Series drivers TaylorMade's Qi35 Designer Series Drivers don't change the performance story of the Qi35 platform, but add layers of style and glitz. Gear: TaylorMade Qi35 Designer Series Drivers Price: $649.99 Specs: Carbon fiber crown and faces with titanium chassis and adjustable hosel. Gloss Black, Gold, and Platinum versions available in Qi35 and Qi35 Max heads Who it's for: Golfers who want premium performance with a head-turning look—and who aren't afraid to make a statement on the tee box. What you should know: TaylorMade's Qi35 Designer Series Drivers don't change the performance story of the Qi35 platform, but they dramatically reimagine its aesthetic, drawing design inspiration from the luster and status of precious metals. The Deep Dive: Think of these as your black-tie drivers — they have the same technology under the hood as the Qi35 and Qi35 Max that you've seen before, but they're dressed for the red carpet. The TaylorMade Qi35 Designer Series is a cosmetic reimagining of the brand's newest drivers, available in limited quantities and designed to blend performance with bold, unconventional style. The project gave TaylorMade's design team an opportunity to explore creativity in ways they typically can't when working on mainstream product lines. The Gloss Black version leans into the always-in-style allure of all-black everything. From the carbon crown to the subtly-accented sole and score-lined face, this one projects speed and sleekness with just enough contrast to keep things sharp. Shop TM Qi35 Designer Series driver If you're looking for a flashier take, the Gold model brings a richer, more exclusive vibe, complete with a black face and mirrored gold sole detailing. Meanwhile, the Platinum edition takes a cooler, more understated path — silver tones and modern striations that frame the clubhead like a work of industrial art. According to TaylorMade principal designer Robert Nunez, projects like this allow the team to, 'ask different questions, and push the envelope of what's conceivable,' whether that means sourcing unique pigments or drawing design cues from luxury industries like aerospace and the automotive world. What's underneath the paint, however, is still the Qi35 story — a platform built on forgiveness and consistency. At the heart of both the Qi35 and Qi35 Max drivers is TaylorMade's Infinity Carbon Crown, which expands the carbon surface area to free up mass for more strategic weight placement. That extra discretionary weight contributes to higher stability and increased moment of inertia (MOI), making these drivers some of the most forgiving TaylorMade has ever produced. The faces are made from a 60-layer carbon composite material engineered to optimize energy transfer and reduce excess weight compared to traditional titanium. That not only helps boost ball speed across more of the face but also contributes to the club's feel and sound at impact. Each model is tailored to a different type of player. The Qi35 Max is engineered for maximum forgiveness and features a slight draw bias, making it a popular choice for players who struggle with a slice or require more assistance in finding the fairway. The standard Qi35 offers a more neutral ball flight and a balance of speed and control that fits a wide range of swing types. Shop TM Qi35 Designer Series driver
