Vicky Pattison slams Meghan Markle's 'cringe' move as Duchess 'gave her the ick'
Former Queen of the Jungle Vicky Pattison has revealed that one moment in Meghan Markle's Netflix series, involving a Hollywood star, made her 'get the ick' 'I'm A Celebrity' alum Vicky Pattison expressed her disgust about Meghan Markle 's controversial moment on her Netflix show. In a candid chat with co-host Angela Scanlon during their 'Get A Grip' podcast, they delved into the life of the Duchess of Sussex. Vicky couldn't hide her disappointment when recounting how Meghan, in her 'With Love, Meghan' series, told off Mindy Kaling for calling her by her maiden name, instead of Sussex. On the moment, Vicky said: "When Meghan corrected Mindy Kaling. And I like that Mindy, I think she's alright. "So I was like, 'Oh'. There's no way I'm slapping my pal's wrist on my Netflix series just for something like that. I really got the ick." Still, Vicky admitted that initially, she was rooting for Meghan and Prince Harry's decision to distance themselves from Royal duties. She reflected: "Harry's obviously unhappy in his role in the Royal Family. If he wants to take a step back.." She added praise for the Prince's independent streak, she explained: "He's always been a bit rebellious, a bit rogue. I was actually all for them retreating off into the distance, bringing up their gorgeous little kids, being really happy." However, Vicky questioned the couple's judgment following the release of footage depicting the couple twerking in the delivery room on Princess Lillibet's fourth birthday, saying it probably didn't do them any favours. She summarised: "Ultimately, the general consensus is that it's a bag of cringe on toast." Vicky's comments come just days after she discussed the effect of PMDD (pre-menstrual dysphoric disorder) on her relationship with her partner Ercan Ramadan. In a candid chat with Elizabeth Day for the How To Fail podcast, Vicky delved into how the illness impacts her everyday life. Expressing her anguish, she said: "It absolutely kills me that for a quarter of our life, I am not the person that he fell in love with, and not the person that he thought he was marrying. "Because that is the reality, I'm not myself. I'm not recognisable at all. I could be screaming one second and sobbing the next, then completely disassociating, unable to be social, lost, afraid, whatever it is – however it's manifesting itself that week." Explaining the emotional burden it places on their relationship, she added: "He's had to learn to love that version of me as well. And that is really difficult. And that is not something I would ask of me worst enemy, let alone the man I love more than anything else in the world." Vicky also expressed immense pride in how Ercan has adapted to her struggles with PMDD, highlighting his reaction as a genuine reflection of his character. She added: "It is a true testament to him and his character that he's learned to understand it because not every man does. I found the one thing that helps is communication. "So saying to him [...] I'm coming into PMDD week. And he goes, 'That's okay. Like, we'll just take it slow'." Vicky and Ercan tied the knot back in August 2024, around five years since their path first crossed through mutual friends in 2019.

Vicky Pattison left with anxiety, insomnia and dark thoughts in scary ordeal
Vicky Pattison has revealed she dealt with 'crippling anxiety, insomnia and dark thoughts' as she suffered a premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD) episode recently Vicky Pattison has candidly opened up on the terrifying feelings she felt during her latest premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD) episode. The former Geordie Shore star, 37, has regularly shared her condition with her followers in a bid to help others in her situation. And now the reality TV star has confessed to just how bad things got recently, explaining the "crippling anxiety, insomnia and dark thoughts" she dealt with. In a tearful update on Instagram, Vicky shared a clip of herself explaining how the condition is affecting her. In the clip, Vicky also showed how her stomach bloats during the painful moments. She also showed herself eating, attending work projects and laughing before walking her dog and showing a billboard for her Get A Grip podcast. The reel also showed her wedding day in a mix of emotions. Vicky captioned the upload: "The highs & lows of PMDD. It's always a bit of a mixed bag with my PMDD- some months aren't so bad & I feel hopeful. "And other months it just completely takes me out & I feel hopeless. Usually there's no real rhyme or reason. But last month I knew I was in for abit of a rough ride- I hadn't done anything that I know helps alleviate my symptoms." She went on: "I hadn't been consistent with my supplements, my diet was atrocious & my schedule was just unrelenting so I went into my luteal phase not really standing a chance. But despite my concerns, nothing could have prepared me." Vicky called the incident "terrifying", revealing she rang her sister in a desperate attempt as she didn't know what she was going to do. She told her how she also didn't know what she was capable of. The Geordie continued: "And after a week of crippling anxiety, insomnia, my inner critic finding fault at every turn & dark thoughts.. I know I meant it. And that's the thing with PMDD, one week you're this bright, shiny, brilliant woman who is strong, smart & ready for anything life throws at you.. & then your PMDD fog sets in and your brain convinces you that you're worthless, that everyone hates you & the world would be a better place without you in it. "Every month I lose myself & descend further & further into this self loathing state & this month almost got the better of me." She confessed she isn't looking for sympathy by sharing her story, but is talking out as she knows she is not alone. "Supposedly 1 in 20 women are dealing with PMDD, but due to medical misogyny, lack of awareness & misdiagnosis- I believe that number to be a lot higher. "Which means that there are thousands, if not millions of women suffering in silence or being ignored or gaslit into believing these things are normal. They aren't. You have a condition. A hormonal disorder & these thoughts are not a reflection of your actual value." She urged anyone dealing with the condition to know they are not alone as she candidly told them the world "is better for having you in it". In her defiant message, she signed off: "You are a warrior.. you are powerful & you are UNSTOPPABLE." Her honest words were met with an influx of praise in the comments section. Among those sending well wishes was Celebs Go Dating expert Anna Williamson. She wrote: "So beautifully articulated @vickypattison," alongside a clapping hands emoji and a red love heart. Angela Scanlon also gushed: "Love you very much." Una Healy was also among the thousands hitting the like button on the post.

Angela Scanlon feeling 'judged' in 15-year eating disorder battle
TV presenter Angela Scanlon has opened up about her body battles growing up, why she wants her daughters to stay 'wild' and her no-holds-barred new podcast with Vicky Pattison From her vibrant fashion sense to her no-nonsense presenting approach, TV and radio host Angela Scanlon isn't afraid to stand out from the crowd. And as we sit down for an exclusive OK! interview with the flame-haired 41-year-old, the fire in her belly is thoroughly infectious. 'Sorry, my three-year-old is pretending to be a ballerina mermaid, so it's been a busy morning,' says Angela with a warm smile as we do our introductions. Followers will already know that very little is off the table for the Irish presenter, who opens up on mental health, physical health, friendships, morals and everything in between on social media. But what fans rarely see is her life behind the scenes as a busy working mum to two daughters, Ruby, seven, and Marnie, three, who she shares with husband Roy Horgan. READ MORE: Zara McDermott shares 'unreal' £30 hair waver that's been creating her go-to summer hair 'I think having something that's private is really important for me,' says Angela, explaining her decision to keep her family life out of the public eye. 'To be able to have that sense of separation is nice. 'When you're in the public eye, there's this sense of people really wanting to see every part of your life, and I totally understand that because I have the same thing. I want to see inside the fridges of the people I follow! But it's striking a balance and, for me, there is something really important about being able to come home, close the door and know that this is real life. Particularly when things are hard, it makes me feel more grounded.' The Meath-born star, who rose to fame presenting shows such as The One Show and Robot Wars, admits she often struggles knowing how much to share with the world and where to draw the line. 'There's definitely a protectiveness over my family life. I'm trying to figure out what the line is there, because that's how I spend a lot of my time, and it's where a lot of my stories come from that I want to talk about on the radio or the podcast,' says Angela, who recently launched new podcast Get A Grip with her friend Vicky Pattison. Although she says time is 'flying by' with her two youngsters, it's clear she's embracing it all. 'I want to press pause on this stage of life. All my friends tell me that between zero and eight years old is the sweet spot, so I'm like, 'How do I make this last?' Although, my three-year-old is in rampant tantrum territory so that's... lots of fun right now!' Angela has managed to strike a healthy balance between work and family life, something that isn't easy in her industry. 'I host weekend breakfast on Virgin Radio, which is a recurring thing, and genuinely I think that a few years ago, had you suggested to me that I would do a recurring gig, I would have run for the hills. I had this phobia around anything deemed to be commitment, outside of my relationship to my husband. 'I was like, 'Oh God, I do not want to be pinned down to anything.' But actually I love it. I still have space to do school drop-off and get time for myself. Last night I went to see Kylie Minogue and danced until late, but then I woke up and made the kids porridge. It's swings and roundabouts.' Having children has not only given the presenter a new routine, but her journey as a mum has improved her mental and physical health, too, she tells us. 'Before I had kids, my approach was very much that my body was to be preened, presented and punished. It was almost somewhat separate from me,' she muses. 'But I think having children changed how I viewed my body and I became more compassionate, more appreciative and more in awe of what it does every single day. I became more gentle in my approach – my body was to be cared for and appreciated rather than punished or insulted.' Angela has previously spoken about her 15-year battle with eating disorders anorexia and bulimia, which she admits led to a complicated relationship with her body. 'Growing up, it was size 0 mania, low-slung jeans and bare-toned midriffs, very much a singular idea of what a beautiful woman looked like. There was very little talk about what a healthy relationship with your body looks like. I grew up hearing that your body is something that should be handed out there and judged,' she explains. This long-term battle with body image has sparked a determination in the former Strictly Come Dancing star to inspire women to feel comfortable in their own skin, and to ensure her daughters grow up with a wholly different mindset. 'There's still a sense of policing what women do, how they look, how they should present, what they should wear. It's bonkers. I think there's a real desire to kind of push back on that. Now I have two daughters, I want to push back on that more. 'I always remind myself that we don't want our daughters to be these complicit, well-behaved little girls who sit quietly and do what they're told, because that's what we've all been told to do,' says Angela. 'I try to take a deep breath when they're being wild and think, 'What I want to preserve more than anything is the fire in them.' Women need that fire.' Fire is something Angela has plenty of and she puts it to good use when dealing with internet trolls. Known for sharing her bold outfit choices on social media, Angela says some users don't hold back with their unsolicited opinions. 'There is the odd time that [trolling] will sting, but the vast majority of the time it's some d***head in his boxers in his mother's spare room commenting, so I don't let it get to me too much,' she says. 'But I do often respond. People will send me DMs with pretty hardcore 'feedback' and I will reply. Sometimes I can be quite cutting when I need to be, but after replying I block them so it doesn't turn into a conversation.' It was this kind of backlash that inspired the name of Angela and Vicky's podcast, Get A Grip. 'The name came because Vicky and I have both experienced people telling us to pipe down or to get a grip, but in different ways,' she says. 'Ultimately, people say phrases like that as a kind of dismissal or to make women shut up and stay in their lane. It's like, 'Don't talk politics, you wear silly dresses,' as if one negates the other. Vicky and I are both very feminist and while you don't need to shout about that from the rooftops, we both do.' Get A Grip, hosted by Angela Scanlon and Vicky Pattison, is available on all podcasting platforms
