Meet Chris Kebbon, the alleged boyfriend of Greta Thunberg
Greta Thunberg, the 22-year-old Swedish climate activist, has recently made headlines not just for her activism, but also for her rumored relationship with fellow protestor and photographer Chris Kebbon . Thunberg was deported earlier this month after boarding the Madleen, a Gaza-bound charity vessel run by the Freedom Flotilla Coalition (FFC). The Israeli military intercepted the ship and deported all 12 passengers, including Thunberg, to their respective countries. Upon her return to Stockholm, one of the first people to greet her was Kebbon, who gave her a long embrace at the airport — a moment that fueled speculation about their relationship. Chris Kebbon, 22, has been a regular fixture by Thunberg's side for over 18 months, according to the Daily Mail. The long-haired photographer, often seen documenting environmental protests, lives in the same middle-class suburb of Stockholm as Thunberg. He's been spotted at multiple demonstrations with her, and was even seen swimming with Thunberg and a group off the coast of Sicily before she set sail for Gaza. Dressed in a green Palestinian keffiyeh, Kebbon was visibly emotional when greeting Thunberg at Arlanda Airport upon her return. He ushered her away from a crowd of supporters, shielding her as they made their way out of the terminal. The duo was also co-defendants in a legal case in London earlier this year. In February 2024, both were cleared of public order charges after protesting outside a London hotel that was hosting oil and gas industry executives. Speaking to Swedish newspaper Vi, Kebbon said his parents had been worried after not hearing from him during his arrest, adding that they might have guessed what had happened after seeing the news about Thunberg. Live Events Kebbon has also shared personal moments online. In one Instagram post, he shared photos of Thunberg captioned: 'Last calm moments together before departure filled with love, care and silly moments.' His online résumé states that he studied film and photography at the prestigious Lycée Français Saint-Louis in Stockholm. He's also an avid surfer and claims to have lived in Syria, Lebanon, and Morocco with his family. Like Thunberg, Kebbon is an active member of the Fridays for Future movement and regularly participates in protests, particularly at Stockholm's Mynttorget public square. He also joined a spontaneous demonstration protesting Thunberg's arrest by Israeli authorities. While their actions and body language have sparked speculation, neither Thunberg nor Kebbon have confirmed whether they are romantically involved.

Greta Thunberg in love? Rumoured romance with young photographer sparks curiosity

The activist turned protestor was recently found aboard a Gaza-bound charity ship, Madleen, operated by the pro-Palestinian Freedom Flotilla Coalition (FFC). The Israeli troops intercepted the ship and deported all the 12 passengers to their respective countries. Now, a new mission seems to have taken up the young activist's mind, particularly love. Thunberg has struck up a close friendship with a young photographer who has been her constant companion in her recent demonstrations. Chris Kebbon, 22, rushed to give Thunberg a lingering hug when she returned to the Stockholm Airport on Tuesday after being arrested and deported by the Israeli authorities. The long-haired photographer and videographer has been spotted by the activist's side for almost 18 months now, Daily mail reported, and the duo was spotted swimming together in the sea off Catania, Sicily with a group before she set sail in the ship to Gaza. He was also her co-defendant at the Westminster Magistrates' Court in February 2024 where they were cleared of a public order offence after protesting outside a London hotel where the Energy Intelligence Forum was hosting oil and gas industry leaders. Kebbon told a Swedish newspaper Vi, after the two were arrested in London that his parents didn't sleep back home in Stockholm when they heard nothing of him. Adding, that he thought that having seen the news of Greta's arrest they should have put two and two together to realise that the same had happened to him. He even posted some shots of Thunberg on Instagram writing, 'last calm moments together before departure filled with love, care and silly moments.' According to his online CV, he attended the prestigious Lycée Français St-Louis in Stockholm for film and photography. He is also a long-term member of Thunberg's Fridays for Future movement and regularly demonstrates with others in the Mynttorget, a nearby public square. He was also a part of the spontaneous demonstration that protested Thunberg and other ship passengers' arrest by Israeli authorities. However, Greta and Chris have not confirmed about this.

Israeli fire kills 12 in Gaza, including five near aid distribution points
GAZA CITY, GAZA – JUNE 11: Palestinians receive their relatives' body, who were killed in Israeli attack, from al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza Strip on June 11, 2025. 25 Palestinians were killed in the Israeli attack in Netzarim Corridor. ( Abdalhkem Abu Riash – Anadolu Agency ) Listen to article Israeli fire and airstrikes have killed at least 12 Palestinians across the Gaza Strip, including five near aid distribution sites operated by the US-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), medical sources said on Sunday. Medics at Al-Awda Hospital in central Gaza said three people were killed and dozens injured by Israeli gunfire as they approached a GHF aid site near the Netzarim corridor. Two more were killed near another GHF location in Rafah, in the southern part of the enclave, according to Wafa news agency and Al Jazeera. Witnesses said they were waiting for food when Israeli troops opened fire. Elsewhere, seven people were killed in an Israeli airstrike in the northern town of Beit Lahiya, medics reported. The Israeli military has not commented on the incidents. The number of Palestinians killed while trying to access humanitarian assistance has risen in recent weeks, amid repeated strikes near aid points. Recounting violence at aid sites in Gaza Since GHF began operating on May 27, over 130 people have been killed and more than 700 injured while trying to access aid, according to Gaza's Health Ministry. Read: Israeli forces seize Gaza-bound humanitarian vessel Madleen in international waters The Israeli military said troops responded to individuals who 'advanced in a threatening way' in an area designated an 'active combat zone'. Witnesses dispute this, saying the shooting occurred in daylight and that no warning was issued. UN Special Rapporteur on the Occupied Palestinian Territories, Francesca Albanese, condemned the GHF operation as 'humanitarian camouflage' and 'an essential tactic of this genocide'. She accused Western powers of enabling the continued destruction of Gaza. Israel's war on Gaza According to the Gaza-based health authorities, at least 55,207 Palestinians have been killed, the majority of whom are reported to be women and children. Israel has killed 4,603 Palestinians and injured 14,186 since breaking a ceasefire in March this year, it added. Israel's atrocities have displaced around 90% of Gaza's estimated 2 million residents, created a severe hunger crisis, and caused widespread destruction across the territory. The International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants last November for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its war on the enclave

Actor Liam Cunningham supports Irish MMA star's victory taunts towards Israeli opponent
Actor Liam supports Irish MMA star's victory taunts Belfast man Paddy Mc McCorry beat Israel's Shuki Farage at Cage Warriors recent 189 event in Rome with a unanimous decision. As he pummelled the former Israeli soldier to the mat he shouted 'Free Palestine' into his face, and then draped himself with the Palestinian flag when he was declared victor, encouraging his supporters to again shout 'Free Palestine'. The 27-year-old also posted on line pictures of Farage gleefully posing in his IDF uniform in a bombed out Gaza and captioned a posting of his win on X with the caption 'Street justice' followed by Irish and Palestinian flags. 'I saw the video,' Liam told the Sunday World yesterday. 'We don't encourage violence. But that's his way of expressing through his career what he wanted to say, but anybody that encourages violent types I've no time for. Paddy McCorry 'I was happy it was publicised that he was shouting for a free Palestine, but I wouldn't be happy about using anger or violence against anybody even if they choose to use it.' Dubliner Liam recently got involved in an online spat with another MMA star, Conor McGregor. McGregor clashed with Cunningham over the Gaza-bound aid boat Madleen. The Israel Defence Forces boarded and seized the vessel carrying 12 people, including Swedish activist Greta Thunberg, which was attempting to enter Gaza and break a naval blockade. The vessel had set sail from Sicily with the hopes of bringing much needed civilian aid to the region. The Game of Thrones star was also involved in the Freedom Flotilla Coalition, revealing that those aboard were transporting items that Israel were not allowing inside Gaza such as crutches and baby formula and tweeted the crew were 'kidnapped'. McGregor quickly responded to the actor's tweet on X, saying: 'I thought you were on this boat Liamo, what happened?. 'You forgot your goggles? You get seasick off the gargle? Bottler.' Conor McGregor's comment Liam retorted: 'Didn't know you could read and write Conor. Thought you used your hands to tap out.' But when asked yesterday would he like to meet McGregor face to face to argue their points, he dismissed it out of hand. 'No interest in meeting him, no interest in talking to him, I'm indifferent to the man,' he stormed. 'I don't want to discuss him, he was just abusive, I put the ball back to him and I have no interest in even discussing him.' Ironically Liam was on his way to Dublin's Garden of Remembrance, where McGregor made a much publicised video several weeks ago prior to a 'Irish freedom' anti-immigration march. The actor yesterday joined several thousand protesters taking in a pro-neutrality rally and march. 'We have to speak up, as the old saying goes 'all that needs for evil to triumph is for good people to stay silent', I refuse to be silent,' he stresses. He maintain he does not want to directly get involved in politics or electioneering. 'I much prefer to be acting and playing dress up and getting paid nicely for it. I find that my spare time is taken up with this now because people that should be speaking up aren't speaking up and they should be ashamed of themselves,' he fumes. 'It's a load of waffle with them, I have no time for them anymore. I heard all these weasel words, it's all weasel words. 'Just have a look. If they really cared they'd be doing something, anything, they're doing nothing. Conor McGregor 'Take a lead in this. We are supposed to be neutral, which means we are supposed to be able to speak up for ourselves on foreign policy, so we need to stop doing business with them, at the very least stop doing business with them.' He is also furious about the Central Bank dealing in Israeli bonds. 'And the Government shot it down, when we shouldn't be doing it because its money laundering, its money from Occupied Territories, which is profits made from the illegal occupation, so by putting it through war bonds they are actually money laundering, so the Central Bank is money laundering on behalf of Israel,' he argues. He pleads with the public to do more. 'They need to write to their TDs, because the TDs are delighted because they are getting away with their bulls**t because nobody is standing up to them,' he insists. 'I have been doing it for 40 years but nobody took much notice of it because it wasn't until Game of Thrones that I was suddenly handed a platform, so there was a lot more people listening.' He is concerned too about happenings in America. 'I know there's a big military march to celebrate his birthday, but there are a huge amount of protests happening across America,' he observes. 'The march to fascism happens when the people, the voters are silent. They are just beginning to realise what Trump really is.' The star, who played Davos Seaworth in Game of Thrones, is also planning to soon resume acting. 'I'm about to start on series on season two of 3 Body Problem, from the producers and writers of Game of Thrones, and that's happening in about 10 days I head to head to Budapest to film that,' he adds. Naledi Pandor contniues to receive threats, 'they never stopped'
In February 2024, in the midst of South Africa's case against Israel at ICJ, Pandor's security was beefed up amid threats. As Israel and Iran continue to trade blows, South Africa's former International Relations Minister Naledi Pandor and her family continue to receive threats. An insider close to the family told The Citizen that the threats against Pandor and her family have not ceased since South Africa brought Israel before the International Court of Justice (ICJ) for genocide committed against Palestinians in Gaza. 'Threats' 'No, they never stopped. The threats are ongoing and you shouldn't get to close [to us] because you become a target,' the insider told The Citizen at a function in Gauteng. The insider did not want to disclose more information, fearing that the threats would escalate. 'We don't want our security compromised.' Friends of Naledi Pandor were all eliminated by Israel last night. June 13, 2025 ICJ case In February 2024, in the midst of South Africa's case against Israel at the ICJ, Pandor's security was beefed up amid threats against her and her family. South Africa approached the World Court seeking several orders, including for Israel to immediately suspend its Gaza offensive; to stop forced displacement; to enable humanitarian access to thousands of displaced Palestinians; and to preserve evidence. In its judgment, the ICJ ordered Israel to take 'all measures within its power' to prevent acts of genocide in Gaza. ALSO READ: Israeli forces seize Gaza-bound Madleen with aid and Greta Thunberg [VIDEO] Security beefed up Following President Cyril Ramaphosa's State of the Nation Address (Sona) on 8 February 2024, Pandor told journalists that she believed the threats were related to the ICJ case. The minister did not disclose who the threats were from, but confirmed that then-Police Minister Bheki Cele had to strengthen her security detail. 'I spoke to Minister Cele because of the various messages I was getting, and I felt it would be better if we had extra security. What I am more concerned about is my family because in some of the social media messages, my children are mentioned and so on.' Gaza Pandor said, despite the personal cost of taking on Israel, South Africa will see the ICJ matter through. 'This is part of the course, the Israeli agents' intelligence services are how they behave, and they seek to intimidate you. So, we must not be intimidated; there is a course that is underway. The people of the world and of Palestine didn't draw back when the apartheid state was at its worst. 'They stood with the liberation movement, so we can't stand back now, we must be with them, and I think one of the things we must not allow is a failure of courage. It's extremely important we continue with this, we talk to the South African people and they understand why it is that we have taken up this moral course,' Pandor said. ALSO READ: SA calls for urgent probe after 32 Palestinians killed while waiting for food Israel and Iran Meanwhile, Pretoria has expressed profound concern regarding the attacks conducted by Israel on targets within Iran on Friday, including reported impacts on military areas, nuclear facilities, and civilian infrastructure. 'Reports of civilian casualties, alongside military personnel, are deeply troubling,' the Department of International Relations and Cooperation (Dirco) spokesperson Chrispin Phiri said. 'These actions raise serious concerns under international law, including the principles of sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the protection of civilians enshrined in the UN Charter and international humanitarian law'. Nuclear safety Phiri added that South Africa has taken note with particular concern of the implications for nuclear safety and security arising from attacks in the vicinity of nuclear facilities. 'We recall the firm stance of the IAEA General Conference, reflected in resolutions such as GC(XXIX)/RES/444 and GC(XXXIV)/RES/533, against armed attacks on peaceful nuclear installations as violations of the UN Charter and international law. 'South Africa extends its sincere condolences to the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the families of all victims,' Phiri said. 'Peaceful resolutions' Phiri reiterated Pretoria's 'unwavering commitment' to the peaceful resolution of disputes. 'South Africa urges maximum restraint by all parties and calls for the urgent intensification of diplomatic efforts to de-escalate tensions and promote stability in the Middle East. 'We support ongoing bilateral discussions, such as those between the USA and Iran, and reaffirm the critical importance of establishing a Nuclear-Weapon-Free Zone in the Middle East,' Phiri said. In February this year, South Africa's Head of Public Diplomacy Clayson Monyela dismissed claims of any cooperation with Iran on nuclear energy. The claims of nuclear cooperation between South Africa and Iran were levelled by US President Donald Trump's administration in an executive order on 7 February 2025.
