Did You Know Gauri Khan's Restaurant Torii Has A Secret Doorway For The Khan Family?
Being one of Bollywood's most famous families comes with its privileges and problems. Constant media glare and scrutiny fall in the latter part. Privacy is priceless and perhaps that's why Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan's family have reserved a "secret door" for their entry and exit at their much-talked about Torii restaurant in Mumbai. A Secret Door Into Torii Stefan Gadit, head chef of Gauri Khan-owned Torii, in an interview with Indian Express revealed that there's a secret entrance at the restaurant. But... "Not everybody has access to the secret doorway; it's for the Khans," Stefan Gadit said. The Khan Family's Favourite Dishes The head chef of Torii also shared the family's favourite recipes. While AbRam Khan, Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan's youngest child, often orders food from the restaurant, the elder ones Aryan Khan and Suhana Khan spend time with their friends. "They keep coming here quite often, and whenever they don't have the time, they place an order and we have it sent over to their home. AbRam likes the sushi here, and Suhana has come on a few occasions with her friends. "Shah Rukh Khan has also been here a few times, mostly with Gauri and family. They celebrated (Shah Rukh's manager) Pooja Dadlani's anniversary here. Shah Rukh Khan has enjoyed the lamb chops we serve here; that's his usual order," Stefan Gadit added. In A Nutshell Head chef of Gauri Khan-owned Torii Stefan Gadit in an interview revealed that there's a secret entrance into the restaurant and that's reserved for the Khan family. The head chef also shared the favourite dishes of the family members. Torii, known for hosting celebrity clientele, has often featured in the Netflix reality series Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives.

Gauri Khan's Mumbai restaurant Torii has hosted many celebrities. It also featured in the last season of Netflix India's show Fabulous Lives Of Bollywood Wives. Torii's Head Chef Stefan Gadit recently spoke to SCREEN, sharing how often Shah Rukh Khan and family dine in. He also revealed that the Khans have a special 'secret door' in the restaurant through which they can enter and exit the place. A favourite of AbRam, Stefan said that SRK's youngest son often orders food from the restaurant, while Suhana and Aryan hang out with their friends there. Stefan also recalled how SRK and family celebrated his manager Pooja Dadlani's anniversary at Torii. 'They keep coming here quite often, and whenever they don't have the time, they place an order and we have it sent over to their home. AbRam likes the sushi here, and Suhana has come on a few occasions with her friends. SRK has also been here a few times, mostly with Gauri and family. It's usually later in the evening.' Stefan also clarified that the secret doorway access is only for a few celebs, and of course, the Khans. He said, 'Not everybody has access to the secret doorway; it's for the Khans.' Sharing how involved Gauri Khan is with the restaurant's daily operations, Stefan Gadit said, 'She gives us her two cents when she feels something is not right, so far things have been going well. There is a good understanding between the management and Gauri Khan.' Sharing how he had reservations about adding Gauri's favorite dish on the menu, Stefan shared, 'She loves Thai curry, and I feel it's done everywhere, and we shouldn't do it, but that's her favorite, so we have it. Gauri Khan-owned Torii's head chef Stefan Gadit says fake paneer controversy helped restaurant: ‘It actually increased our business'
A few months back, Gauri Khan-owned restaurant in Mumbai, Torii, was embroiled in a controversy after content creator Sarthak Sachdeva accused them of serving 'fake' paneer. Following these claims, the restaurant's management had issued a statement dismissing the claims and reiterated that they aspire to excellence in the food they serve. Now in an exclusive interview with SCREEN, the restaurant's head chef Stefan Gadit has opened up about the aftermath of the controversy. He said during the interview, 'It makes an impact when we point fingers at something baseless. The quality, the ingredients, everything we provide is top-notch; we had nothing to worry about. We issued the statement so that people could know what is happening and how things are done. There is a lot of stuff going on with food chemistry and food science, it takes four years, just pouring something on something was just…don't get me wrong. He did that with his pure intentions, just wanted to check.' He understood and took off the post. We, as a team, as the management, believe that people are smart enough to understand what was going on.' When asked if these allegations affected the restaurant's business, Stefan shared, 'It increased our business and I got more than 20-30 followers on Instagram, so that was a blessing in disguise, I would say.' In April, Sarthak had conducted an iodine test on paneer he ordered from Virat Kohli, Shilpa Shetty, and Bobby Deol's restaurants besides Torii. While he had no comments to make on those, he claimed the paneer used at Torii was fake based on an iodine test. Following this, the restaurant issued a statement saying, 'We are utterly surprised at the news of 'fake paneer' being served at Torii. The iodine test reflects the presence of starch, not the authenticity of the paneer. For all dishes that contain soy-based ingredients (a staple in Asian food), this reaction is expected. From sourcing our produce to the food being served on the plate to our patrons, there are quality checks at every step of the way. Our commitment to excellence in the food we serve remains unwavered.'
