Two students secure internships with Wells contemporary art exhibition
Two Somerset students have secured internships with a major contemporary art exhibition.
Year 12 students from The Blue School, Elizabeth Adams and Gabriella Unciano, have joined the volunteer-led team behind Wells Art Contemporary (WAC).
The annual exhibition will return to Wells Cathedral this October.
Paddy O'Hagan, chair of WAC, said: "We are thrilled to welcome these bright young minds to our team.
"We really value their assistance and enthusiasm, and we hope their involvement will strengthen a love for art within our community."
The internship will give students first-hand experience of working with artists, curators, and organisers as they help deliver an international art exhibition in a Grade I-listed building.
Mr O'Hagan said: "The addition of the interns from The Blue School underscores our commitment to nurturing the next generation of art professionals and providing them with meaningful opportunities to develop their skills."
The exhibition will run from Wednesday, October 8 to Saturday, November 1.
Gabriella, who recently moved to Wells from Bristol, said: "I think of Wells Art Contemporary as a really lovely way to showcase and promote international talent and art."
WAC is also inviting members of the public to get involved as volunteers.
A 'Meet the Stewards' event will be held on Thursday, July 3 at 6.30pm at Wells Museum.
