Gucci celebrating the house's monogram with Emily Ratajkowski: A GG obsession
Framed by the shifting light of a day in Cannes, Gucci introduces the new campaign dedicated to the GG Monogram, capturing Emily Ratajkowski in a series of curated moments, from pauses on city corners to the late-day glow along the promenade. Credits: Gucci Photographed by Daniel Arnold, the campaign unfolds a balance of presence and ease, movement and stillness. As the protagonists move effortlessly between the city's crowds and the carefree calm of the beach, their journey is threaded by one constant, the GG Monogram. Worn across a spectrum of pieces, from new handbags to archival-inspired travel silhouettes from the Gucci Savoy line tracing back to the House's beginnings in the world of luggage, the motif becomes a discreet companion, a signature presence woven into the everyday. Credits: Gucci Credits: Gucci Central to this narrative is the recently debuted Gucci Giglio handbag. Unveiled during the Cruise 2026 fashion show in Florence, Gucci Giglio pays homage to the House's roots, celebrating the Giglio, the lily emblem synonymous with the city since medieval times. Debuting at the historic Gucci Archive, the piece reflects over a century of artisanal mastery, innovation, and expressive design, drawing on archival codes and heritage techniques while embracing modern craftsmanship. Credits: Gucci The campaign also introduces a new chapter of the Ophidia collection. Drawing from handbag and accessory silhouettes of the late 1970s, the new Ophidia pieces feature soft GG Monogram coated canvas, green cotton lining, the Double G emblem in polished light gold metal, and the signature Web stripe that boldly defines each silhouette. A highlight of the campaign is the Mini GG handbag, a new design available for pre-order online and in store, which reimagines the House's signature duffle style in a compact form. Rooted in the legacy of Guccio Gucci's original valigeria creations, the GG Monogram emerges once again as more than a design, it is a living code. A visual signature that adapts, evolves, and endures across time and collections. More than a campaign, this is a study of identity: a GG obsession.

Why nude dressing is trending on the red carpet
The 78th Cannes Film Festival wrapped up last week with an updated dress policy: 'nudity is prohibited on the red carpet, as well as in any other area of the festival." However, that didn't stop sheer, see-through sparkly dresses from appearing on the red carpet. The nude dress has often generated a lot of debate. Some see it as an attention seeking tool, while others hail it as a way to embrace one's femininity. Reflecting her desire to celebrate her cultural roots, Gucci's global brand ambassador Alia Bhatt wore a custom "nude" three-piece set, embroidered with crystals in a GG Monogram pattern, that looked lehnga inspired. Another 'naked" beaded dress was worn by Dakota Johnson at the Kering Women in Motion Awards at Cannes. Her outfit featured a sporty, halter-like neckline, as well as a fitted bodice and a diaphanous skirt. Also read: How the military has defined menswear fashion Halle Berry, too, thumbed her nose at the no-nudity rule and sparkled in a sheer crystal-encrusted Gucci halter dress. Paris Jackson deserves a mention too, as she attended the Cannes 2025 amfAR Gala in an almost nude gown that exposed her flesh-toned knickers. So did British model and TV presenter Leomie Anderson. Homegrown designer label Shivan & Narresh have experimented with the naked dress over the years. Shivan Bhatiya, founder-head designer, points out that naked dressing was evident throughout this year—at the Grammys, various music awards, and the Met Gala. "Alia's look was especially impressive. They (Gucci) were able to give a nude look without making it look obscene," he says. Also read: How to make knitwear cool for the summer When it comes to adapting the 'nude", or nude-coloured, look for everyday wear, it really depends on the occasion. "For evenings, sticking to monotones works beautifully—monotone outfits are a safe bet for both day and night," he suggests. If one's wearing separates, one should try pairing a nude top with printed trousers or skirts for a stylish contrast. Designer Shweta Kapur of label 431-88 observes that the nude trend at Cannes was a mood. "It's less about showing skin and more about celebrating it. There's something unapologetically powerful about baring it all in such a refined, intentional way. It's not loud, it's not trying—it just is. That effortless sensuality, the kind that doesn't need validation. That's the energy," she says. Bringing the nude trend into your everyday wardrobe is all about contrast and confidence. "Incorporate sheer nude turtlenecks under oversized blazers—polished, but with just enough skin to keep it interesting. Or a sand-toned slip dress layered with a cropped utility jacket and chunky boots. It's about soft fabrics in strong shapes: nude mesh tops with sharp trousers, second-skin bodysuits under structured denim," Kapur says. One can even play with tonal layering—mixing creams, beiges, taupes—for that 'undone but intentional' vibe. The trick? Don't over-style. Let the skin-toned palette speak for itself. Priyanka Kathuria, founder, wardrobe consultancy Altique, suggests layering a sheer blouse over a bralette or a tank top. "You can also play with sheer sleeves or panels, or structured gowns that come with side cutouts," she suggests. Manish Mishra is a Delhi-based writer and content creator. Bollywood top star stuns at Cannes in ‘first-ever' Gucci saree
Bollywood actor Alia Bhatt appeared at the Cannes film festival in Gucci's first-ever bespoke saree, bringing the closing ceremony to a glamorous end. The 32-year-old actor wore a Gucci's saree-inspired draped outfit in silver mesh adorned with the signature GG logo and Swarovski crystals on Saturday at the 78th Cannes film festival. 'Global brand ambassador Alia Bhatt attended the closing ceremony of the 78th Cannes Film Festival in a custom Gucci gown with embroidered crystals in a GG Monogram pattern. The actress was also pictured in a custom three-piece set,' the luxury brand said in a social media post. The bejewelled ensemble is likely 'Gucci's first creation with the iconic Indian silhouette, marking a milestone', said Vogue, adding that the look is 'an ode to Indian heritage'. Bhatt's minimalist yet stunning look included the nude-coloured attire with a blouse, a skirt mirroring the silhouette of a saree and a dupatta-like drape flowing from her left-shoulder on the red carpet. The leading actor had minimal make-up with kohl-lined eyes and a dainty diamond tennis necklace she wore as a choker. 'There's something absolutely special about firsts – and I'm so excited to make my Festival de Cannes debut this year, an iconic celebration of cinema and self-expression,' Bhatt said during an interaction with media at the film festival. Earlier in the day, Bhatt made her first appearance at the closing ceremony in custom Schiaparelli haute couture. The much-anticipated look by Gucci's global ambassador from India comes after she made her second appearance at the Metropolitan Museum of Art Gala in New York in May last year, where she looked to traditional Indian attire for inspiration for her heavily embroidered Sabyasachi saree with a dramatic 23-ft train. The Bollywood actor wore a custom mint-green saree by Indian couturier Sabyasachi, embodying the 'The Garden of Time' dress code. The Heart of Stone actor wore a Prabal Gurung gown for her debut at the Met in 2023. Revenge thriller It Was Just An Accident by Iranian director Jafar Panahi, who was barred from filmmaking for 15 years by the government in Tehran, won the Palme d'Or top prize on Saturday.

Alia Bhatt turns into Gucci girl at Cannes closing ceremony, mom Soni Razdan cheers from India
Bollywood actor Alia Bhatt turned into a Gucci girl on day 2 at the Cannes Film Festival. She is attending the closing ceremony of the French film festival. For her daytime look, she exuded vintage charm and later slipped into something a little daring from the same brand. For her first look, Alia wore a mustard yellow co-ord set. She took to her Instagram handle and dropped a series of photos as she posed by the sea. She slayed the old Hollywood look in a high-waisted skirt, paired with a structured cropped bustier. She finished off her look with a matching cropped jacket. She also wore a floral printed silk scarf with Gucci sunnies to create the signature brand look. She carried a white handbag as well. Ditching the caption, she dropped several emojis and tagged Loreal who invited her to the festival as their brand ambassador. Reacting to her look, Alia's mother, actor Soni Razdan wrote in the comments, 'Ufffff.' 'Tres chic,' said Huma Qureshi. Her Alpha co-star Sharvari commented saying, 'Wow.' Shibani Akhtar and Rhea Kapoor also reacted to the post with loved-up comments. Meanwhile, Alia Bhatt made her red carpet appearance in another custom Gucci look. She looked like a million dollar in a nude-hued sequinned Gucci outfit with all-over crystal GG Monogram embroidery and a long palla, creating a saree-like silhouette. The dress consisted of a plunging blouse, a straight skirt and duppatta-like drape. She was bejwelled from head to toe in Swarovski crystals. The design draws inspiration from India's rich heritage and craftsmanship reflecting Alia's desire to celebrate her roots. On Friday, Alia made her Cannes debut. For day 1, she wore an ivory Schiaparelli mermaid gown. The dress came with an off-the-shoulder, featuring delicate white floral detailing on a cinched corset. It had a flared into a layered tulle train. She paired it with a sleek hair bun with baby hair gelled on her forehead for a softer look. She was at the premiere of the film, The Mastermind.
