Singer who died having boob and nose job 'partied with surgeon night before'

A heartbroken husband has paid tribute to his "beautiful" wife who died just hours after undergoing plastic surgery. Ana Bárbara Buhr Buldrini travelled to Turkey alongside Elgar Miles last Friday, from their home in Mozambique, to undergo a breast augmentation, liposuction and a nose job. The 31-year-old singer went into cardiac arrest shortly after the procedures at Tusa Hospital in Istanbul and tragically died. Mr Miles, who only married Mrs Buldrini a month ago, said it was his wife's dream to "improve her aesthetic standards," reports The Mirror. Allegedly receiving the procedures in return for promoting Tusa Hospital, the couple are said to have partied with the physician doing the surgeries in Istanbul on Saturday night, G1 reports, via Mail online. According to Mr Miles, who is an artist himself, his wife was taken into surgery earlier than scheduled, just two days after an initial consultation. "'Due to scheduling issues, the surgeon decided to bring it forward to Sunday," he said. "We went to the clinic on Sunday just to see the place, but the doctor wanted to perform the procedure without Ana being prepared." Despite allegedly being out the night before, Mr Miles claims his wife was persuaded to go ahead. "The doctor assured me that there were no problems and that everything would be fine," he told G1 news outlet. Mrs Buldrini underwent the procedures and was out of the operating room by 11pm on Sunday. Her heart allegedly began to slow down, however, and Mr Miles noticed a change in the staff's mood. "They told me to go to the room, the assistants were acting strangely. I waited for 1 hour and 15 minutes to receive her," he said. "I went down to the ground floor and a doctor said that her heart was beating slowly, another said that she was already dead." In a statement obtained by Turkish outlet Turkiye Today, Tusa Hospital stated that the singer had been given full legal and medical information and had signed all necessary consent forms before the procedures. There was "an unexpected complication" during the recovery phase, the hospital said, and Mrs Buldrini experienced ventricular fibrillation, a serious heart rhythm disturbance, and suffered cardiac arrest. Medical staff attempted to revive her but were unsuccessful. "Despite all efforts by our expert anesthesiology team, the patient could not be resuscitated," the statement read. Mr Miles, who married his wife in May in Maputo, Mozambique, six years after meeting in Rome, has been left devastated. "She was the person who cared for me the most, who loved me the most, who believed in me the most," he said. "I just want justice to be done and for this case to serve as an example for all people who want to undergo a type of medical intervention like the one Ana underwent." In a tribute posted on his Instagram page, Mr Miles said: "Our last few days were too beautiful to end this tragically. I will love you forever because I chose you for that. Years and years of building our empire for today I'm here in this room alone with no floor. "I promised to protect and love you like the queen and beautiful person you are inside and out. It doesn't seem fair living this life without you, not really. I want to be wherever you are because none of this makes sense without you." According to the hospital's statement, legal procedures have been initiated to determine cause of death. The hospital say they are fully cooperating with authorities. Influencer, 31, partied with doctor night before cosmetic surgery, dies after procedure

An influencer who died after a botched cosmetic surgery in Turkey had partied with her doctor the night before the procedure. According to a report in the Daily Mail, Ana Bárbara Buhr Buldrini died hours after she received a breast augmentation, liposuction, and a nose job on Sunday. The 31-year-old singer and influencer had travelled from Mozambique to Istanbul with her husband on Friday for the surgeries. Her husband, artist Elgar Miles, told Brazilian news outlet O Tempo that she was receiving the procedures free of charge in return for promoting the hospital. 'She wanted to undergo these procedures to improve her aesthetic standards. It was a dream of hers,' Miles said. Ana and her husband reportedly had a boozy night out with the surgeon on Saturday - just a day before she underwent the fatal procedures. Her husband said that the procedures were originally scheduled for Wednesday. They enquired whether the date could be changed to allow an extra day for recovery. 'Due to scheduling issues, the surgeon decided to bring it forward to Sunday. We went to the clinic on Sunday just to see the place, but the doctor wanted to perform the procedure without Ana being prepared,' said Miles. Despite having partied the night before, the surgeon convinced Ana to go ahead with the cosmetic surgeries. 'The doctor assured me that there were no problems and that everything would be fine,' Miles told news outlet G1. Ana underwent a breast augmentation, fat removal, and a nose job at the Tusa Hospital. She was out of the operating room by 11 pm on Sunday. However, after coming out of the surgery, her heart began to slow down. A post shared by DeHermes (@elgarmiles) "They told me to go to the room, the assistants were acting strangely. I waited for 1 hour and 15 minutes to receive her," said her husband. 'I went down to the ground floor and a doctor said that her heart was beating slowly, another said that she was already dead.' Tusa Hospital, in a statement reported by Turkiye Today, said that the patient had signed all necessary medical consent forms. She experienced 'an unexpected complication' during the recovery phase which led to ventricular fibrillation. Ana then suffered a cardiac arrest and died. 'Despite all efforts by our expert anesthesiology team, the patient could not be resuscitated,' the statement read.

New charges accuse Bolsonaro of running spy ring from Brazil's presidential palace

Federal police have formally accused Brazil's former far-right president, Jair Bolsonaro, of presiding over an illegal spying network which allegedly snooped on political rivals, journalists and environmentalists during his administration. Bolsonaro is already facing the prospect of jail time over his alleged role in masterminding a military coup plot designed to help him keep power after losing the 2022 election to the leftwing veteran Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. There is broad consensus among analysts that Bolsonaro's conviction is a foregone conclusion and the 70-year-old populist is expected to face arrest in the coming months once a supreme court trial concludes. The latest accusations relate to a two-year federal police investigation into suspicions that a 'parallel' intelligence agency was set up during Bolsonaro's 2019-23 administration in order to monitor those considered government foes. On Tuesday, police accused Bolsonaro's alleged former spy chief, Alexandre Ramagem – who ran Brazil's intelligence agency, Abin, from 2019 to 2022 – of running the clandestine operation and accused more than 30 others of being involved, including the president's politician son Carlos Bolsonaro. The news website G1 said investigators had concluded that under Bolsonaro members of Abin 'formed a criminal organization in order to monitor people and public authorities, invading mobile phones and computers'. Some of the information gathered was allegedly provided to a covert social media team that operated within the presidential palace and allegedly used illegally collected information as ammunition to launch online attacks. The targets reportedly included four supreme court ministers and powerful politicians including the former president of Brazil's lower house, Arthur Lira, and the then governor of São Paulo, João Doria, a prominent rightwing rival to the president. Journalists and public servants were also reportedly spied on, including Hugo Loss, a respected member of the environmental agency, Ibama, who was on the front line of efforts to protect the Amazon at a time when illegal loggers and miners were emboldened by Bolsonaro's anti-environment rhetoric and climate denial. Loss had worked closely with Bruno Pereira, the Indigenous expert and former government employee who was murdered in the rainforest region three years ago this month with the British journalist Dom Phillips. The newspaper O Globo said police believed the Bolsonarista spy network was created in order 'to make it possible for Bolsonaro to remain in the presidential chair'. Bolsonaro and Ramagem made no immediate comment on the accusations but have previously denied such charges. Carlos Bolsonaro responded to the allegations on X, suggesting that they were the result of a political grudge against his father's political movement. 'Was anyone in any doubt that Lula's PF [federal police] would do this to me?' he tweeted.

Tarana to Bring ngFWA Broadband to Underserved Communities in Africa in Collaboration with Microsoft

MILPITAS, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Tarana, the creator of next-generation fixed wireless access (ngFWA) broadband technology, today announced a collaboration with Microsoft to expand internet access in rural and underserved communities across Africa. Together, the companies will help service providers in rural and underserved Africa deploy government-approved telecom equipment at competitive pricing, along with training and technical support. Access to secure, affordable telecom equipment remains a major barrier to internet connectivity in Africa. Despite progress, high infrastructure costs and limited rural coverage have allowed the digital divide to persist. In some regions, fewer than 30% of people have reliable internet access. Through the Airband program, Microsoft is working to expand affordable connectivity to communities in Africa by collaborating with local service providers, governments, and non-profit organizations. Engineered to achieve a similar mission, Tarana's ngFWA broadband platform combines fiber-class performance with the agility of wireless technology to connect communities at a fraction of the cost or time required to deploy wired solutions. Overcoming two primary limitations of traditional fixed wireless access (FWA) technology, ngFWA delivers high-speed broadband service in both non-line-of-sight (NLoS) conditions and heavy radio interference, making it an ideal solution for hard-to-reach and underserved markets. More than 250 operators worldwide are deploying ngFWA to deliver better broadband more efficiently. Tarana's collaboration with Microsoft will help lower the cost of ngFWA equipment for internet service providers in Africa and assist with deployment logistics, enabling them to deliver life-changing internet access far faster and more cost-effectively. Basil Alwan, CEO of Tarana, added, 'We admire the Airband Initiative's mission and appreciate this opportunity to collaborate. We look forward to making significant progress on the digital divide together.' 'Access to affordable, secure broadband infrastructure is essential for unlocking economic opportunity through digital access across Africa,' said Vickie Robinson, General Manager, Energy, Connectivity, and Sustainability at Microsoft. 'By working with Tarana, we're helping local operators overcome cost and deployment barriers so they can bring high-speed connectivity to the communities that need it most.' About Tarana Tarana's mission is to accelerate the deployment of fast, affordable internet access around the world. Through a decade of R&D and over $400M of investment, the Tarana team has created a unique next-generation fixed wireless access (ngFWA) technology instantiated in its first commercial platform, Gigabit 1 (G1). It delivers a game-changing advance in broadband economics in both mainstream and underserved markets, using either licensed or unlicensed spectrum. G1 started production in mid-2021 and has since been embraced by more than 250 service providers in 24 countries. Tarana is headquartered in Milpitas, California, with additional research and development in Pune, India. Learn more at
