NFL Great Tom Brady to Be Part of Jimmie Johnson's NASCAR/Indy 500 'Double'
A couple of G.O.A.T.s to take lap around Brickyard on race day morning at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway ahead of the Indy 500 on May 25.
While Kyle Larson is expected to be getting amped up for his second Indianapolis 500 and the first leg of his planned 'Hendrick 1100,' NASCAR great Jimmie Johnson will be starting his own 'double' May 25.
The seven-time NASCAR Cup Series champion, who qualified in the fourth row at the 2022 Indianapolis 500 and competed for Chip Ganassi Racing en route to the race's Rookie of the Year Award, will chauffeur seven-time National Football League Super Bowl champion quarterback Tom Brady for a lap around the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in the Fastest Seat in Sports.
The pair of GOATs (that's "Greatest of All Time" for those not quite up to speed) will lead the field to green in a custom IndyCar Series tw0-seater car.
Brady, the lead FOX NFL analyst, had a cameo appearance in the first FOX Sports commercial that featured Josef Newgarden and debuted in January during the football playoffs.
'I love the Indy 500,' NASCAR Hall of Famer Johnson said. 'There is an energy and excitement around the '500' that is unlike anything I have experienced before. Certainly, pre-race ceremonies are the ultimate racing experience that I've had outside of the car. I'm thrilled to be a part of the program and to see the stands full one more time. I'm extremely honored to come back and do it and to be able to also share this experience with another seven-time champion.'
After Johnson gives Brady the ride of a lifetime, he will fly to Charlotte and make his 700th career series start in the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Johnson is the co-owner of Legacy Motor Club, which fields two entries in the NASCAR Cup Series and one part-time entry for Johnson in the No. 84 Chevrolet. Larson is hoping to race in the Charlotte event, as well.
