More scattered storms ahead this weekend in KELOLAND

Good morning KELOLAND! Several rounds of showers and thunderstorms have moved across KELOLAND the past 24 hours. Low clouds are still hovering over Webster where pockets of heavy rain have fallen the past 24 hours. Our 24-hour rain totals map shows a band of 3-5 inches of rain just north Aberdeen, extending east to Sisseton. The actual rain reports reveal just over 4 inches in Sisseton the past 24 hours. Other storms with hail impacted areas between Winner and Valentine last evening. It looks like another warm day for Sioux Falls with highs in the lower to middle 80s. There is a 20% chance of a thunderstorm this afternoon. You can see a hint of those isolated storms on Futurecast below. We also expect scattered t-storm development in far western SD later today and tonight. Some of those storms could become strong to severe by this evening. After a cool day today in the north and northeast, temperatures should recover into the 70s in Aberdeen tomorrow. More scattered t-storms are ahead Saturday evening in western SD, with some of those moving east during the overnight. We still expect lot of 80s tomorrow in southern KELOLAND. Expect similar trends on Sunday, with thunderstorm chances increasing again Sunday evening into early Monday morning. Pockets of severe weather and locally heavy rain are possible with the more organized storms that develop. More storms are possible late in the day on Monday. Here are the details of the forecast. Storm Center Update; Tracking more storms in KELOLAND

Good morning KELOLAND. Here are some of the weather stories we are following this morning. Storms tracked across eastern KELOLAND yesterday, producing damaging winds, hail, and locally heavy rain. You can see the damaging wind on the view video sent to us at uSHARE@ yesterday 5 miles west of Little Rock, Iowa. Here's a look a snapshot of that downburst and what the wind numbers revealed on VIPIR. We also had plenty of lightning near Sioux Falls last night. Most of the storms have been non severe the past 12 hours. Take a look at the 24-hour rainfall totals below. The rain continues to develop this morning. More thunderstorms are expected in the region, mainly focused north of Sioux Falls. Our rain outlook today shows more potential north of the warm front across northeastern SD. Take a look at the latest trends on Futurecast on the video below. You can see the rain moving into northeastern SD along and north of a warm front lifting to the north across our region. We also expect showers and thunderstorms to develop in central SD today near the main low pressure track. Some severe can't be ruled out in southcentral SD this afternoon. This system will exit the region into Minnesota tomorrow morning, with mainly dry conditions during the day tomorrow. A separate feature will bring a rain chance back to eastern KELOLAND late Friday night into Saturday morning. We don't expect rain all weekend, but watch for additional rounds of showers and storms Saturday night, with another round looking likely Sunday night into Monday. Thursday weather: Storms with heavy rain again possible

SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – Showers and thunderstorms returned to most of the ArkLaTex on Wednesday with some locally heavy rain. Expect much of the same on Thursday with daytime temperatures that will be below normal for this time of year. Thursday rain timing: Hi-res models, including Futurecast, show that we will likely see the rain impacting the ArkLaTex on decrease and gradually end on Wednesday night. Our next round of showers and thunderstorms will move into the area Thursday morning and move across the area during the day. A few of the storms could be strong with some gusty winds. SPC indicates that we will see a level 1 marginal severe risk. If we have any severe weather issues, damaging winds will be the main concern. Flooding will likely be a bigger concern as hi-res models are suggesting that parts of the area could see four to over SIX inches of rain! Thursday temperatures: Models indicate that the expected showers and thunderstorms on Thursday will arrive a bit earlier in the day. Consequently, temperatures will likely not have as much time to warm up. Lows will begin in the 60s and low 70s. Daytime highs will only warm into the low to middle 80s. Rest of the week: The chance of showers and thunderstorms will decrease a little on Friday and this weekend as the main upper-level disturbance moves into the middle of the country. Temperatures will begin to warm back up. Daytime highs will return to the lower 90s by the end of the weekend and the middle 90s by the middle of next week. Overnight lows will remain in the 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved. This material may not be published, broadcast, rewritten, or redistributed.

Afternoon and evening storms likely in southeastern KELOLAND

A hot and humid day is ahead for much of southeastern KELOLAND ahead of a line of showers and thunderstorms later today. The Storm Prediction Center continues to carry a slight risk of severe weather to much of southeastern KELOLAND. Large hail and damaging winds will be possible with the strongest storms. So far, storms have been limited the past 24 hours. You can see the rain totals on the map below. Take a look at the time and placement details of the storms on Futurecast below. You'll notice the initial development takes place west of Sioux Falls as a broken line of thunderstorms moves slowly eastward into the early evening. The strongest storms may produce ping pong ball size hail and wind gusts to 65 mph, along with locally heavy rain. Expect additional areas of showers and occasional thunderstorms behind the front tonight in far southeastern KELOLAND. Much cooler weather will impact all of the region tomorrow into midweek, with additional showers possible in western SD starting Wednesday afternoon. We will carry 20% to 30% chances of rain Thursday and Friday in eastern KELOLAND as well. Here are the details of the forecast. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved. Much warmer weather ahead this weekend; Thunderstorms next week

Good morning KELOLAND! We are starting the day with some sunshine and cool temperatures across the region. However, more isolated t-showers could develop today in the far southeast, a trend we'll watch later today. Highs yesterday bounced back into the 60s for much of KELOLAND. That's still below normal for this time of the year. We also tracked scattered rain in response to that slow-moving upper level low moving across the region. Temperatures should be a few degrees warmer today in Sioux Falls, even with the isolated rain chances. You can see those rain chances on Futurecast below. The forecast for tomorrow is looking warmer and dry across the region. Warmer weather will be the big weather story for the weekend. However, thunderstorms will enter the picture by Monday into Tuesday. Take a look at the upper air pattern as we head into next week. We have a number of interesting factors that will be coming together to support the development of thunderstorms. Deep moisture will likely flow into KELOLAND from both the gulf coast and the desert southwest as tropical moisture swings into the region from Baja California. With plenty of instability in place ahead of a slow-moving cold front Monday afternoon into Tuesday, the stage will be set for some decent thunderstorms. Locally heavy rain could develop as well, but we still have more details to watch. Severe weather is also quite possible late Monday. Stay tuned. Here are the details of the forecast.
