Eric Trump on father's legacy: He's ‘killed every RINO' in Washington

Eric Trump credited his father Monday with toppling the GOP establishment and changing both political parties for generations on the 10th anniversary of President Trump's 'golden escalator' launch of his first successful White House campaign. 'He has killed every RINO there was in Washington, D.C.,' Eric Trump said in an interview on Fox Business Network's 'Mornings with Maria,' using a pejorative that refers to people deemed Republicans in name only. 'Now all of a sudden, you have a Republican Party that's united.' President Trump has often blasted his critics and other Republicans who stray from his positions as RINOs. Eric Trump, who is executive vice president of the Trump Organization, was speaking to host Maria Bartiromo on Monday about the company's new Trump Mobile cell service, but he deviated to reflect on his father's legacy following President Trump's return to the White House this year after losing a reelection bid four years earlier. 'There is no question that he has changed the trajectory of the political parties indefinitely but it's going to last,' the younger Trump said. 'This isn't a one cycle, two cycle.' 'It's going to last, literally, I believe, generations,' he added. The president's eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., marked Monday's anniversary of the president's 2016 campaign launch with a social media post similarly highlighting its impact. '10 years ago today one outsider, sick of the bs and failure in Washington D.C. decided to get in the game and change the course of history!!!!' Trump Jr. wrote on X. Eric Trump, who has two young children, also said he believes that President Trump has helped spark political interest in younger people. 'My father has made politics fun again, right?' he said. 'It's cool again to be involved in politics.'

Israel-Iran conflict: China may ‘strike us' through proxies after Iran setback, Gordon Chang warns

China may 'strike us' through proxies after Iran setback, Gordon Chang warns In the wake of Israel's sweeping military strikes on Iran, foreign policy analysts suggest that China may be the conflict's biggest geopolitical loser. 'Iran being set back on its heels by Israel means nothing is off the table for China and its military advances,' said Gordon Chang, senior fellow at the Gatestone Institute, in an interview on Fox Business Network's Varney & Co on Friday. According to Chang, Iran has long served as a vehicle for China's foreign policy goals in the Middle East. 'The Chinese… they're losing their proxy, Iran. Iran has been accomplishing China's foreign policy goals for quite some time. And China's Middle East policy is now in disarray,' he stated. The comments came after the Israel defense forces launched Operation Rising Lion, a large-scale assault targeting Iran's nuclear and missile infrastructure. Explosions were reported in Tehran overnight Friday, as Israel responded to months of failed nuclear negotiations. A nationwide state of emergency has been declared in Israel in anticipation of Iranian retaliation. Chang warned that China may not quietly accept the blow to its regional ambitions. 'This is a point where China is suffering a terrible loss in the Middle East,' he said. 'It is not going to take that lying down, and it's probably going to get Iran or some other party to strike us.' by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 5 Books Warren Buffett Wants You to Read In 2025 Blinkist: Warren Buffett's Reading List Undo China's support for Iran has been extensive, particularly through oil and weapons trade. 'China was supporting the attacks on Israel across the board with elevated commodity purchases,' Chang explained. 'Remember, China has taken more than 90% of Iran's crude oil exports, but also provided weapons support.' He added that Chinese-made arms are widespread among Iran-backed militias. 'Hamas, Houthi militia, Hezbollah, all of them have large quantities of Chinese weapons. Iran's weapons are made with China's computer chips,' he noted. Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump weighed in on the conflict via Truth Social, warning that Israel's next round of strikes could be 'even more brutal' if Iran does not return to the negotiating table over its nuclear program. 'There has already been great death and destruction,' Trump said, 'but there is still time to make this slaughter… come to an end.'

What to know about Trump's "gold card"

President Trump's website for his " gold card" that would enable successful applicants to buy U.S. permanent residency for $5 million went live this week. The big picture: Details on what the program would entail remain scant, and it may require congressional approval. State of play: Trump announced in February his plan to offer the card as a replacement for the existing EB-5 program, which has granted green cards to individuals who invest in the U.S. since 1990. The president launched a website Wednesday to allow people to register their interest in signing up for the " gold card." Successful applicants will be able to buy U.S. permanent residency for $5 million. The site, is currently only for people to register their names, email addresses and the regions they're from. What they're saying: Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick said on Fox Business Network on Thursday that there is a waiting list and 25,000 people signed up in 15 hours. "At 200,000 people, that's a trillion dollars," Lutnick said. Between the lines: The card will likely require legislative support and face legal challenges if congressional approval isn't sought, immigration attorney Theda Fisher said in an email. An amendment to the Immigration and Nationality Act and the Internal Revenue Code would be required to increase the numbers of immigrant visas issued annually and to have differential tax treatment of certain permanent residents. But congressional approval to change these rules would be required. "I believe the Gold Card can be successful if administered properly as there is a lot of demand for U.S. permanent residency that would exempt an individual from tax on global income," Fisher said. "It is a dream come true for many high-net-worth individuals. Our thought bubble: Congress establishes various legal categories for allowable immigration by statute, and has not created one along these lines. Article I Section 8 of the Constitution is the real authority here. Anybody with $5 million in extra cash sitting around and a clean legal record can probably find a way get a long-term US visa, and eventually citizenship, through other means.
