Published on: Monday, June 23, 2025 Published on: Mon, Jun 23, 2025 By: Azmie Lim Text Size: LAHAD DATU: Police arrested a suspected drug dealer and seized 50.73 grams of substance believed to be syabu in an Op Tapis operation at Kampung Pasusul, Felda Sahabat 18, here on Saturday. District Acting Police Chief, Supt. Jimmy Panyau said, the drugs were found inside an ice cream container inside one of the rooms in the house. The 46-year-old Filipino man was also tested positive for consuming amphetamine and methamphetamine. Following the operation, the team also seized equipment believed to be used in the drug abuse activities. 'Two vehicles, a motorcycle and a Four Wheel Drive (4WD) were also seized in the operation. 'The suspect is now being investigated under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952,' he said. LAHAD DATU: Marine police detained a man and seized subsidized oil following an operation, here, on Sunday. Sabah Marine Region Four Commander, ACP Mohd Nazri Ibrahim in a statement said, while conducting Op Taring Landai, the Marine apprehended a Four Wheel Drive (4WD) that believed attempted to smuggle subsidized oil. 'The team detained the driver and seized goods estimated worth RM122,469.96. 'The case would be investigated under the Control of Supplies Act 1961,' he said. Mohd Nazri in his statement also disclosed that the Kudat Marine has apprehended a boat near Laut Mangsee Reef. The team detained the boat skipper as believed possessing invalid documents. He said, following an inspection on Merak Hati jetty, the Marine nabbed 14 foreign workers for possessing invalid documents. 'All the foreigners were handed over to the Crime Investigation Division of Kudat Police Headquarters for further action. 'Both cases were investigated under the Immigration Act 1959/63,' he added.
