A woman has died and two children have been injured after their car crashed onto a railway in Mackay, Queensland. Police said a black Toyota Kluger was travelling on the Bruce Highway near Donohues Road in Farleigh when it lost control and came to a stop on nearby railway tracks about 6.50am on Tuesday. A 73-year-old woman was rushed to Mackay Base Hospital in a critical condition. She later died from her injuries. Two children inside the car at the time of the crash were taken to the same hospital with minor injuries. The Queensland Ambulance Service confirmed the children were both in stable conditions. Police have urged anyone who witnessed the incident or has dashcam footage to come forward, as the Forensic Crash Unit investigates. Farleigh is a suburb in the Mackay region of Queensland, about 970 kilometres north of Brisbane. Anyone with relevant information for police can reach out via Policelink or call 131 444.
