Indiana Fever guard sees social media following erupt after Caitlin Clark defense
Since committing a hard foul in defense of star guard Caitlin Clark, Indiana Fever guard Sophie Cunningham has seen her social media following skyrocket. Since the incident occurred, Cunningham's jersey sold out in the Fever team store and she has gained nearly 300,000 followers on Instagram and jumped from 300,000 to over 1.2 million followers on TikTok. As a frequent social media user, she posted a TikTok video playing into what happened during Tuesday's game with her lip-syncing lyrics from the Selena Gomez song, "Hands to Myself." "It's a joke... the sound was too fitting! happy game day," Cunningham captioned the post. That video now has more than 800,000 likes and 25,000 shares. Cunningham was ejected on June 17 after committing a late-game Flagrant 2 foul on Sun guard Jacy Sheldon which immediately drew Sheldon and fellow Sun guard Lindsay Allen into a fracas along the baseline. "It's cool. It's funny what kind of people are attracted to," Cunningham said Saturday of gaining so many followers. "I'm just trying to keep the main thing the main thing, and that's basketball, trying to win games, sticking up for my teammates. And that's all part of it. I think all that stuff is fun and whatnot, but, at the end of the day, we need to win some basketball games." Cunningham and the Fever (6-6) return to action on Sunday against the Las Vegas Aces (5-7) from T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Pacers tie NBA playoff record by jumping out to 41-point halftime lead against Cavaliers in Game 4
INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — The Indiana Pacers tied an NBA playoff record by building a 41-point halftime lead Sunday in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference semifinals against top-seeded Cleveland. The 80-39 lead matched the previous mark set by the Cavaliers in Game 2 of the 2017 conference finals against Boston, according to Sportradar. And the Pacers did it despite having one of their top scorers, Bennedict Mathurin, ejected for a Flagrant 2 foul less than eight minutes into the game. It's also the 10th time in playoff history any team has scored 80 points in a half. Oklahoma City did it most recently, with 87 points in Game 2 against Denver earlier this week. The Pacers dominated the first two quarters, shooting 60% from the field and making 12 of 18 3-pointers while posting 25 assists. Cleveland shot 25% from the field, had only three assists and only three players with more than one made basket. Indiana tied the record on Aaron Nesmith's buzzer-beating mid-range jumper to close the half.

'Now this is just dirty': Charles Barkley weighs in on Bennedict Mathurin ejection vs Cavs
Inside the NBA weighed in on Bennedict Mathurin's ejection in Game 4 of the Indiana Pacers against the Cleveland Cavaliers on May 11. Mathurin hit De'Andre Hunter in the sternum during the first quarter with a closed fist. Hunter pushed Mathurin with two hands, knocking him over. Myles Turner hurried over to shove Hunter. Mathurin was ejected after being assessed a Flagrant 2 foul. Hunter was given a technical foul. During halftime, Charles Barkley and Jalen Rose weighed in on the play. "Now this is just dirty," Barley said. "There's no place for that." More on ejection: Should Bennedict Mathurin have been ejected in Game 4 of Pacers vs Cavaliers? Rose didn't believe Mathurin should have been ejected. "Normally, the second guy gets punished," Rose said. "In this case, the first guy actually did. I felt like since it wasn't a punch below the belt, I felt like Mathurin should have gotten a technical and still been allowed to stay in the game." Barkley said Mathurin got "lucky." "It was dirty, unnecessary, uncalled for," Barkley said. "The thing that really pissed me off ... if it had changed the momentum of the game. It would have been really bad. (Mathurin) is lucky they were blowing them out. Sometimes when you poke the bear, something happens and a team goes on runs. He got very lucky."
