Dakota Johnson spills on dating turn-off after Chris Martin break-up
Fifty Shades of Gray star, Dakota Johnson, has reportedly split up with her partner of eight years, Chris Martin, and has now revealed one of her non-negotiable dating rules Dakota Johnson has revealed the one rule her partners must stick to in the wake of her breakup with Coldplay's Chris Martin. The Fifty Shades of Gray star, 35, has reportedly called it quits with the Fix You singer, 48, after eight years together. Dakota, who is currently starring in the flick, Materialists, in which her character boasts several love interests - including Marvel star, Chris Evans - was pretty clear about the one thing her prospective partner must not be as she opened up about her expectations. Speaking to Craig Melvin on the June 9 episode of Today, she stated: 'Just, like, not an a**hole.' Chuckling, Chris, who was seen looking cosy with Dakota during the New York premiere of their film on the weekend, replied: "That's concise. There it is. Nail on the head.' Dakota's blunt reply comes amid reports that she and Chris Martin have called it a day. On June 4, it was reported that the couple—who first sparked dating rumours in 2018—had gone their separate ways. The actress' rep was forced to deny break-up rumours back in August 2024 and then almost a year later, Dakota was seen out in New York without her engagement ring. Neither Dakota nor Chris has confirmed or spoken about the reports yet, but a source has claimed that the rumoured split has been "painful" for the daughter of Melanie Griffiths. Speaking to the Sun, they revealed: "Dakota wanted this relationship to work. "She not only loves Chris, but his two kids, and that loss feels incredibly painful. The decision to end things was amicable, but Dakota is finding it hard. "Over the past year, it became clear that their relationship had stalled and wasn't moving forwards." However, Chris—who shares kids Apple Martin, 21, and Moses Martin, 19, with ex Gwyneth Paltrow—is still supporting his ex as he encouraged them to see her new film. During his June 1 Coldplay show in California, he told the crowd, 'Be kind to yourself, be kind to each other. Don't forget to see Materialists!' Dakota was seen looking very cosy with her Materialists co-star at the New York City premiere of her new movie on Saturday night. While she attended the event and posed for photos, the actress had Chris Evans' arm tightly wrapped around her waist. Dakota looked in high spirits as she stood in front of the cameras with the Marvel star, but it wasn't him she locked lips with. In the absence of Pedro Pascal, who also stars in the film as the actress' 'perfect match', she held up a cardboard cut-out of her on-screen love interest and kissed his photo instead.

Dakota Johnson shares Chris Martin's reaction to her dream about British singer
Actress Dakota Johnson has revealed her dream about The 1975's Matty Healy, which saw the singer morphing into a vegetable to dodge the police, with Chris Martin's reaction Newly single Dakota Johnson has revealed her ex Chris Martin's brilliant reaction to her wacky dream about singer Matty Healy. The Fifty Shades of Grey actress, 35, and the Coldplay frontman, 48, recently ended their romantic relationship after eight years together. Chatting with comedian Amy Poehler, Dakota recalled having a bizarre dream about The 1975 hitmaker. "I actually had a dream the other night," Dakota told host Amy during the latest episode of the Good Hang podcast. "Matty Healy from The 1975 was in my dream and he was murdering people, and he was Matty Healy as himself." Dakota, who recently enjoyed a dinner date with Matty's ex Taylor Swift, then went on to note how the dream got even stranger, with her dream version of Matty morphing into a vegetable to dodge the police. "When the people were looking for him—they were cops maybe," Dakota continued, "he would turn into a piece of asparagus." If that wasn't weird enough, an Oscar-winning actress then entered the dream. "I saw these two poles and a bed and I was like, 'Matty?'" Dakota said. "The sheets came down and it was him as an asparagus and Angelina Jolie as an asparagus. They were getting married, and they left in a helicopter together as asparagus." The next morning, Dakota shared her wild dream with her then-boyfriend Chris. The Fix You songwriter was fascinated by Dakota's subconscious, telling her: "That's a really good pitch for a movie." Dakota and Chris reportedly split over his reluctance to set a wedding date. . Insiders allege that the frustration stemming from this hesitancy contributed to the end of their eight-year relationship, with 35 year old Dakota particularly "sick" that no date had been decided. The two became engaged years after their on-off romance took off in 2017, following the dad-of-two's split from his ex-wife, Hollywood star Gwyneth Paltrow. A source told Page Six: "She was sick of him dragging his feet on setting a date for the wedding." Others in Dakota and Chris' inner circle reckon disagreements on starting a family played a role too. Another insider claimed: "They broke up over Chris Martin not wanting to have more kids." While Dakota, unlike her former beau, has never tied the knot or had children, she has hinted at her desire for both. A confidant shared with The Sun, "They really tried to work through their issues but the age gap was often a problem. She'd [also] expressed that she may want children in the future, whereas Chris is kind of done with that part of his life." Following the news of the couple's split, an insider disclosed: "They just haven't been able to figure out to make it official. Dakota held a flame for them to be together because she loved him so much and loved his kids so much. "Breakups aren't instant and they continued to breakup and makeup and sometimes things would work when they were away from each other, while they were working because absence makes the heart grow fonder, but then they'd get back together and little things just kept adding up to where they weren't right for each other anymore... "Dakota is devastated that she isn't going to be around his kids as much anymore, but wants them to know that she is always there for them."

Coldplay's Chris Martin and Dakota Johnson call it quits after nearly 8 years
If Coldplay 's rendition of 'Fix You' sounded especially mournful during the band's recent concerts at Stanford Stadium, it may be because frontman Chris Martin has officially parted ways with actress Dakota Johnson. In what appears to be a definitive end to one of Hollywood's more quietly enduring romances, the 48-year-old Coldplay singer and the 35-year-old 'Fifty Shades of Grey' star have split after nearly eight years of an on-and-off relationship, according to People. Martin and Johnson, who began dating in 2017, were last seen together in mid-May in Malibu, where they had shared a home since 2021. Despite that recent outing, sources told People the breakup 'feels final this time.' Representatives for the pair have not commented. The couple largely kept their relationship private, though it was occasionally illuminated by moments of public affection — most memorably in 2021, when Martin gave Johnson an onstage shoutout during a London concert. 'This is about my universe, and she's here,' he said, gesturing to Johnson before launching into Coldplay's BTS collaboration, 'My Universe.' Johnson, who partially grew up in San Francisco, previously shared that the couple enjoyed being homebodies. 'We've been together for quite a while, and we go out sometimes, but we both work so much that it's nice to be at home and be cozy and private,' Johnson told Elle UK in 2021. 'Most of the partying takes place inside my house.' She also spoke warmly about Martin's two children, 21-year-old daughter Apple and 19-year-old son Moses, with ex-wife Gwyneth Paltrow. In March, sources confirmed to People that the couple had been secretly engaged for years. Yet despite their long-running commitment, the relationship has now ended, just as Coldplay's Music of the Spheres tour continues to fill stadiums worldwide and Johnson prepares for the release of her upcoming film, 'Materialists,' on June 13.

Ticketmaster ordered to refund Coldplay fan over ‘restricted view' at ‘disaster' Croke Park gig
A JUDGE HAS ordered Ticketmaster to fully refund a furious Coldplay fan who ended up crouching in 'restricted view' seats, unable to see the band during their sell-out Croke Park concert last year. When the chart-toppers with hits Fix You and Yellow announced they were bringing their Music of the Spheres world tour to Dublin, James McGetrick thought he 'hit the jackpot' but it became a 'disaster'. Dublin District Court heard he scooped pre-sale tickets to go to the gig with his wife on 29 August, but that on the night they were forced to 'crouch down' on their seats near the back of the lower Hogan Stand to see Chris Martin's performance. McGetrick took a small claims case against the Ticketline Unlimited Company, trading as Ticketmaster. He told Judge Peter White they bought tickets released through the artist pre-sale well ahead of the general public. He shelled out €332 for two seats on the lower Hogan Stand. On the day of the concert, they were directed to the fourth row from the back of the stand. He explained that the Coldplay stage was 'quite elevated' for the people standing on the pitch. He described how he and his wife could not see the band from their seats. All the people in front stood, and they in turn had to stand to see over their heads. McGetrick explained that the overhang from the upper Hogan Stand also hindered their view. As the concert went on, people in the seats behind them, who had an even worse view, began to fill the aisle. Advertisement After seven or eight songs, he and three girls from the row in front of him approached a steward. He alleged they were more interested in the concert, had not looked back, and were not policing anything. McGetrick, of Corrib Road, Terenure, Dublin 6, said the stewards then went back up the stand with them and told everyone in the aisles to return to their seats. That turned bad, he said, because 'all those people who were sent back to the seats started to blame myself, now they could not see anything as well.' The atmosphere turned unpleasant, and 'popcorn and litter was being thrown at us, it was just terrible'. The next day, he complained to Ticketmaster, and the company told him to contact the promoter, MCD. Originally filing his small claim action against MCD, the District Court ruled he should have brought it against Ticketmaster instead. So, he started the process again with the ticket site, which he said was 'just pawning me off' and he lodged a fresh action in the court against them. The firm eventually offered just €190, but McGetrick persisted with his case, seeking the full amount he paid for the tickets. He stressed that when he bought them, it was never stated that there was a restricted view and he thought the seats would be better because he got the tickets via the artist pre-sale option. 'The whole thing was a disaster,' he told the court. Noting that Ticketmaster did not attend the hearing to contest the action, and given the account of the experience and evidence of the purchase, Judge White granted a decree in favour of McGetrick.
