Blood Message trailer: A reflection of Black Myth Wukong and Ghost of Tsushima, NetEase announces first single-player game

After the exciting PlayStation State of Play event, which announced upcoming games like Astro Bot, First Steps, Ghost of Yotei, 007 First Light, and Nioh 3, among others, another enticing development is taking place in the world of gaming. Developers NetEase Games and 24 Entertainment have just announced a single-player action game titled Blood Message and dropped a 5-minute trailer. This will be NetEase's first ever single-player game. The game is set in the final years of the legendary Tang dynasty of China and follows the story of a nameless protagonist during the 'Dunhuang uprising'. The trailer opens with a shot of our protagonist wading through the desert while a voice in the background talks about the demise of the Tang dynasty. The game most likely is making a reference to the time when the dynasty weakened and lost control of the region of Dunhuang, which was a focal point of communication between China and the rest of the world. The region was fought over many times, and the story of the game seems to be set during one of those rebellions. We see our protagonist trying to rescue his son from the city before the war destroys it. He soon discovers that his son has decided to travel to the Tang capital as part of another uprising. Watch From here the main narrative of the game begins, as we see a glimpse of the fight sequences and the overall world the story is set in. Some movements of the main character seem a bit like Assassin's Creed and Ghost of Tsushima, while the underlying presence of spirituality and belief in a higher someone reminds the viewer of the game Black Myth: Wukong, another game with Buddhist and Taoist folklore rooted deep within its story. The developers have already revealed that even though the game will feature an expansive world, the story in itself is linear in nature. Linear essentially means that while the players will have certain choices which can affect certain outcomes, the overall structure of the game shall remain fixed. No announcements about the release date have been made yet, and NetEase has not informed the audience about the consoles the game will be available on.

Our First Look at Giganto in ‘Fantastic Four: First Steps' Is in… a Pizza Ad?

Ahead of the release of Marvel Studios' The Fantastic Four: First Steps, the accompanying food tie-in blitz unleashes a first look at the movie's take on Giganto in a Little Caesars pizza ad. Currently, the chain is pushing its themed pizza with toppings (or lack thereof) representing different members of the Fantastic Four. Getting a cute little comic book nod in this ad was unexpected, to say the least. Giganto's first appearance came in Marvel's First Family comic book debut, which gets homaged in the commercial (directed by First Steps production designer Kasra Farahani) in a recreation of Jack Kirby's monster battle. Watch the spot below: After that first comic, the kaiju-esque green giant from Monster Isle went on to become a recurring villain in the Marvel comics canon. Fans have been waiting to see if Giganto will make the cut in First Steps—and his appearance in the pizza ad offers hope that he might, though we can't help but think he's seen better days in 2D. But maybe if he's really set to pop up in the film, this version of the iconic creature might not be fully rendered and finalized. It's an ad after all, who really notices? (We do.) The Fantastic Four: First Steps opens July 25.

New Teaser Of Fantastic Four: First Steps Shows Mole Man's Monster Giganto In Action

Last Updated: Fans got a first glimpse of Giganto, a giant green monster controlled by Mole Man, from Fantastic Four: First Steps, in a new Little Caesars commercial. Fantastic Four: First Steps is generating much buzz among the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) fans, who are excited to watch it in theatres. The studio has promised the film will stay true to the original story from the comics. Recently, they showed how they carefully recreated the very first cover of the 1961 Fantastic Four comic. Fans got the first glimpse of Giganto, a giant green monster controlled by Mole Man, in a new Little Caesars commercial. The monster looks just like it did in the comic created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby years ago. The ad features a worker talking about their pizza when he suddenly gets attacked by the giant monster. Soon after, we see Sue Storm, Mister Fantastic, Human Torch and Ben Grimm coming to the rescue. While the clip looks fun, it may actually be taken from the upcoming movie and edited for the pizza promotion. For months, fans have been hearing that First Steps might show flashbacks of the team's earlier fights and this could be one of those scenes. Just a sneak peek of the BIG things coming to the screen soon 👀See Marvel Studios' #TheFantasticFour: First Steps in theaters July 25 — Little Caesars Pizza (@littlecaesars) June 17, 2025 In the comics, Giganto is controlled by Mole Man, who uses him to attack different locations. When the Fantastic Four find out, Mole Man sends the giant monster after them in New York City. In Fantastic Four: First Steps, actor Paul Walter Hauser is expected to play Mole Man. He has shared positive comments about his time on set. While appearing on Sirius XM earlier this year, Paul said, 'I think, from what I've seen, and obviously, I can't say much about it, but I will say the short time I was on set, dude, they're making a cool movie, man. This is a smart, chic Marvel movie that really focuses on family as part of the theme. And you really kind of fall in love with those characters, I think. And that's what's missing sometimes if you don't fall in love with these characters, and you keep putting them in peril, we don't really care. You know, you got to make us care first. And I think Marvel's hopefully getting back to some of that." All four stars are also confirmed to return in Avengers: Doomsday, which is set to hit theatres on December 18, 2026. Before that, fans can catch First Steps on the big screen when it releases on July 25. First Published:

Girl, four, choked to death on vegetarian meatball lunch at nursery school, inquest hears

A four-year-old girl choked to death on a vegetarian meatball lunch served at her nursery school. Lyla Eden Windell stood up from the table where she was eating with her classmates and tried to pull food out of her mouth, an inquest heard. The preschooler, described as a pleasure to teach, was eating her second helping of cous cous, veggie meatballs and roasted courgettes when staff heard her coughing. A trained first aider at First Steps nursery in Chichester, West Sussex, gave her several sharp slaps between the shoulder blades. The hearing was told that Lyla went quiet and was taken to the corridor away from the other children. Staff then dialled 999 and rang Lyla's parents. Senior childcare officer, Stephanie Pulley-Blank said Lyla had fantastic fine motor skills and never needed help with her food. She said: 'I heard her cough at about 12.30pm. She was gagging, visibly choking.' Head of Operations for First Steps nursery in Chichester, Emma Merriott, said she gave Lyla CPR on her office floor. 'She was still struggling and reaching for her mouth. Food was coming up and it was mixed with a lot of saliva. 'I lowered her down to the office floor and started CPR. I tried the first five rescue breaths. 'Her chest wasn't rising or falling, so I wasn't getting any air in.' Staff, paramedics and doctors battled for an hour to save her before Lyla was pronounced dead at St Richard's hospital in Chichester the same day. Child care assistant Marcia De Silva Avery said: 'Lyla was eating fine and talking to her friends around her. 'She got a second portion after raising her hand. I noticed she was making heaving noises. 'Food was coming up. The meat looked chewed. She put her hand in her mouth like she was tying to get something out of it. 'I bent her over and gave her two back slaps. I couldn't see food coming out and she was clearly in distress.' 'I keep thinking about the incident again and again. I do not understand how it happened,' Marcia added. Lyla was described by staff at the nursery as a well -behaved, quietly confident child who was very good at making things. Parents Natalie and Richard Windell described Lyla as a beloved daughter, sister and friend. 'She was a happy and contented baby. Adventurous and independent. She loved to help daddy cook. 'She was crafty and creative. Lyla would read to her little brother and he looked up to her. 'She loved princesses, fairies, unicorns and rainbows. Everything was magical to her.' Her parents said she was loved beyond measure and they still feel her hugs. 'Precious memories will be held in their hearts forever,' they said in a statement read at the inquest. The inquest heard that the nursery had a regular ratio of eight children to one member of staff. And on the day of the incident, there were 26 children for lunch, raising the level of supervision to one member of staff for every five children. Carla Roberts, senior officer at Ofsted, said following a visit to the nursery after the incident the education watchdog was satisfied children were adequately supervised, children's needs were met and that children were encouraged to eat safely. Ofsted was also satisfied staff had up to date first aid training that they understood and were able to implement. She said there were no concerns about the meatballs and how they were served. A jury returned the conclusion that Lyla's death was accidental.

THE FANTASTIC FOUR: FIRST STEPS Director Hints a Robert Downey Jr. Cameo Is Unlikely: "Doom Is Not Part of My Film" — GeekTyrant

Fans were hoping that we would get a look at Robert Downey Jr.'s Doctor Victor von Doom this year, ahead of his head-to-head with the Avengers next year in Avengers: Doomsday . While he won't be the main villain in The Fantastic Four: First Steps , it was speculated that he would possibly appear, but that prospect seems to have dwindled. First Steps director Matt Shakman said in the new issue of Empire magazine, "Doom is not a part of my film, and therefore not a part of my purview." It makes sense that Doom would not be a part of this story. The Fantastic Four has its own problems and villains to defeat before they cross paths with the greater superhero network. But I still wouldn't rule out an RDJ/Doctor Doom post-credits scene. I think either Doom or a hit at the next Spider-Man film would be most natural, but you never know with these scenes. Either the end of the film, or one post-scene will most likely intersect with what we saw at the end of Thunderbolts* as well, so there will be plenty of material to play with. I can't wait to see The Fantastic Four: First Steps . It looks like it's going to be great, and it's been a while since we got a completely fresh batch of characters to play with, so I'm stoked. The film hits theaters on July 25, 2025. Tickets are now on sale.
