Bahrain ‘Guest of Honour' at St. Petersburg economic forum
His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Bapco Energies, is leading the Kingdom of Bahrain's official delegation to the 28th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF 2025). The event is held in the Russian Federation from June 18 to 21, under the theme 'Shared Values: The Foundation of Growth in a Multipolar World'. Bahrain is participating as the official Guest of Honour at this year's forum. The delegation includes His Excellency Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Minister of Finance and National Economy; H.E. Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, President of the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA); H.E. Ahmed Khalid Al Arifi, Chief Executive of the National Communication Centre; H.E. Sara Ahmed Buhiji, Chief Executive Officer of the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA); H.E. Safa Sharif Abdul Khaleq, Chief Executive of Export Bahrain; and H.E. Mohammed Al Alawi, Chief Marketing and Communications Officer at the Economic Development Board. Representatives from the private sector are also participating, including members from the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Gulf Air, GFH Financial Group, and Al Salam Bank. As the Guest of Honour, Bahrain will host a dedicated pavilion serving as a dynamic hub to showcase its position as a regional centre of innovation, culture, and opportunity. The delegation's programme includes a range of cultural events and business meetings.

Bahrain and UK sign Second Strategic Investment and Collaboration Partnership (SIP2)
In the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and as part of HRH's official visit to the United Kingdom, the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United Kingdom signed the Second Strategic Investment and Collaboration Partnership (SIP2). The agreement was signed by Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Minister of Finance and National Economy, on behalf of Bahrain, and Rachel Reeves, Chancellor of the Exchequer, on behalf of the United Kingdom. Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa emphasised the strength of the longstanding relations between Bahrain and the United Kingdom, and the steady progress across various domains. He highlighted the mutual commitment to advancing cooperation, particularly in finance and economy. He noted that the SIP2 will support economic growth and job creation in both countries, particularly in shared priority sectors such as financial services, technology, industry, and decarbonisation efforts. As part of the partnership, the Bahraini private sector will invest £2 billion in the United Kingdom to support projects that contribute to carbon reduction and sustainable development. Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa highlighted that the agreement marks a new milestone in economic cooperation between the two countries. It also aligns with Bahrain's efforts to enhance a dynamic and attractive investment environment and boost the competitiveness of its national economy. He further noted that the UK's accession to the Comprehensive Security Integration and Prosperity Agreement (C-SIPA), following an invitation from Bahrain and the United States, will reinforce economic and strategic ties and create new opportunities that benefit both countries and their peoples. Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa underscored the importance of deepening strategic partnerships with allied countries to support sustainable growth, generate quality employment opportunities, promote innovation, and enable knowledge and expertise exchange. King of Bahrain receives UAE Minister of State for Foreign Trade

Meetings On the sidelines of the visit, Dr. Al Zeyoudi held separate meetings with Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Bahrain's Minister of Finance and National Economy, and Abdullah bin Adel Fakhro, to explore ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation. The discussions came following the entry into force of the Investment Promotion and Protection Agreement on 8th May. Both sides expressed their hope that business communities and private sector entities in both countries would fully leverage this agreement and others, to establish more joint ventures that support mutual economic growth. The meetings also discussed building on the growing trade and investment ties between the two countries. Non-oil trade between the UAE and Bahrain saw a record 23 percent increase in 2024, reaching AED33.9 billion. The UAE also maintained its position as the third-largest global investor in Bahrain, holding 10 percent of the country's cumulative foreign direct investment stock.

HRH Crown Prince Arrives in Malaysia
On behalf of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, arrived today in Malaysia, to lead the Kingdom of Bahrain's delegation at the ASEAN-GCC Summit and the ASEAN-GCC-China Summit. His Royal Highness will also pay an official visit to Malaysia, during which he will meet with senior Malaysian officials to further enhance bilateral cooperation and joint coordination between the Kingdom of Bahrain and Malaysia. Upon arrival, His Royal Highness was received by Yang Berhormat Senator Dato' Seri DiRaja Dr. Zambry bin Abdul Kadir, Minister of Higher Education in Malaysia.
