Final Destination Bloodlines Day 19 India Box Office: Supernatural horror film holds steady with Rs 45L, total past Rs 50 crore

Final Destination: Bloodlines continues to maintain a steady run at the Indian box office, netting Rs 45 lakh on Day 19, today. This adds to the already impressive local haul of the supernatural horror thriller, cementing its success in the domestic market. The title's India box office performance now stands at approximately Rs 50 crore, combining the stellar collection from its first two weeks and recent daily figures. Below is the detailed breakdown of Final Destination: Bloodlines' India box office collections: Final Destination: Bloodlines is the sixth installment in the popular American supernatural horror franchise, for those uninitiated. Zach Lipovsky directed the much-anticipated continuation of the decades-spanning saga that began as a reboot. Guy Busick and Lori Evans handled the screenplay, featuring Kaitlyn Santa Juana as a college student who inherits premonitions of an avoided 1968 catastrophe from her dying grandmother. As her vision becomes clearer, she discovers death is seeking what it was once denied by closing in on her family. Santa Juana's character must race against time to save her clan from meeting the envisioned tragic ending. The supporting cast includes Teo Briones, Richard Harmon, Owen Patrick Joyner, Anna Lore, Brec Bassinger, and franchise veteran Tony Todd. After the success of Final Destination 5, the new film, as mentioned earlier, was described as a reimagining of the franchise set in the world of first responders. In October 2020, however, it was confirmed by series creator Jeffrey Reddick that the film would serve as the sixth official installment. Originally slated for a streaming release on HBO Max, Warner Bros. Pictures switched gears in March 2024, announcing a full theatrical rollout instead. The move appears to be paying off well so far, given its USD 229 million worldwide revenue since its May 16 global launch. Bloodlines currently ranks as the ninth-highest-grossing film of 2025. As it continues to perform exceedingly well in India and overseas, Final Destination: Bloodlines reaffirms the franchise's enduring appeal among horror fans.

Millennial anxiety in comeback mode as ‘Final Destination' returns

1 2 Pune: A popcorn horror series in 2000 quickly grew into psychological terror for millennials who can also be called the 'Final Destination' generation. The idea that death could strike through bizarre, but completely possible accidents took root in young viewers' minds then. Now, millennial anxiety has found a throwback trigger with the release of 'Final Destination: Bloodlines' in India on May 16. Fourteen years after the last instalment, the franchise has brought back the irrational fears it successfully embedded into an entire generation's psyche. So if a millennial grips the steering wheel just a little tighter while driving behind a truck carrying metal rods, they should know they are not alone. It is the same if one involuntarily clenches every muscle when somebody does a gymnastics flip in a video. And, if the sound of a sudden elevator jolt spikes the heartbeat, the series definitely has the person in it clutches. Pranav Iyer (39) is a fintech professional who commutes from Undri to Hinjewadi daily. He said, "I quickly change lanes if I'm behind a truck with pipes, logs or any construction material. It's like a reflex even now. Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 40대 이상이고 PC가 있으세요? 그럼 이 게임을 정말 좋아하실 거예요! Sea of Conquest 플레이하기 Undo The minute I spot something sticking out of a vehicle, my brain thinks of the 'Final Destination 2' scene where logs fall out and everyone dies in an unexpected and macabre way. I tell myself not to think of it, but desperately try to move away from behind the vehicle. " Teacher Pritha Dasgupta (42) has been terrified of stepping onto an escalator after she watched a scene from the movie. "I still get slight anxiety when I have to take an escalator. I ensure there's nothing in my footwear or clothes to get caught in the machine. My heart is in my mouth till I step off," she said. The lingering fear is a form of associative conditioning and not entirely irrational, according to mental health professionals. Clinical psychologist Yukhta Pathak said, "What the 'Final Destination' franchise did was introduce highly specific situational fears which hijack normal daily routines. Since the scenes were grounded in reality, situations like driving behind a truck carrying projectiles, setting up a barbecue or visiting the ophthalmologist were processed as potential threats. The fears became anchored for millennials, who encountered these ideas while still forming adult cognitive patterns. " She explained this as a phenomenon where a stimulus like a log truck or a gymnastics routine becomes linked with fear due to intense visual memory of audiences. Over time, the association causes stress or avoidance behaviour even without direct danger. "As a generation, millennials already carry a base-level anxiety because of job insecurities, rising cost of living, climate dread and social media, among others. We have hyper-vigilance disguised as common sense because the chaos we are already dealing with is stoked by a mental inventory of elaborate death sequences," said Aatish Makhija (38), a film buff. It is a very millennial trait to still remember the scenes vividly. "I cannot get myself to undergo lasik surgery because of the eye surgery scene. I know no doctor will turn a machine pointed at my eye and just leave the room like in the movie, but I squirm at the thought," said Priyanka Shah, a 40-year-old homemaker. The return of the franchise is also a reminder of how pop culture shapes a generation. Remember, millennials grew up with Y2K paranoia, 'Friends', Orkut and a healthy suspicion of ceiling fans.

Final Destination Bloodlines Day 17 India Box Office: Rs 1.30 crore haul brings film close to Rs 50 crore mark

Final Destination: Bloodlines continued its steady run at the Indian box office today on its 17th day, netting Rs 1.30 crore. With this, the sixth installment in the long-running supernatural horror franchise took its local total to Rs 49.05 crore. Despite a relatively muted start, the film has shown consistent hold over the two weeks and a few additional days in the market, largely driven by genre appeal and positive word of mouth. Here's a day-wise collection breakdown of Final Destination: Bloodlines' India box office so far Directed by Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein, Final Destination: Bloodlines introduces a fresh narrative while retaining the franchise's signature theme of premonition and inevitable death. The fresh narrative, for those who may not know, refers to the new premise introduced in this installment, featuring the protagonist inheriting visions of a past premonition from 1968. The premonition averted a deadly structural collapse, and now Death is circling back to claim the descendants connected to that event. Earlier installments, meanwhile, featured a random group of people escaping death. Kaitlyn Santa Juana leads the ensemble featuring Teo Briones, Richard Harmon, Owen Patrick Joyner, Anna Lore, Brec Bassinger, and franchise veteran Tony Todd. The film is being praised for its refreshing take on the classic formula, clever narrative links to the earlier films, and effective scary sequences. Originally planned as a streaming property for HBO Max, the film's theatrical rollout was greenlit after delays caused by the SAG-AFTRA strike. Shot in Vancouver between March and May 2024, the movie hit US theaters on May 16 and a day before that in India. So far, Bloodlines has grossed USD 193.5 million worldwide, making it not just the highest-grossing but also the best-reviewed entry in the Final Destination series to date. Its performance is being hailed as a franchise revival. The Rs 50 crore milestone in India was locked, which is significant given it was allotted fewer screens due to Mission Impossible 8's parallel release.

Ceiling collapses during ‘Final Destination: Bloodlines' showing

A freak accident occurred during a showing of 'Final Destination: Bloodlines,' which could easily have been a scene out of one of the franchise's films. The ceiling collapsed during a showing at Cinema Ocho in La Plata in Buenos Aires, Argentina on May 19 at around 9:00 p.m., according to Infobae, an Argentine digital news outlet. Fiamma Villaverde, 29, her 11-year-old daughter and a friend decided to check out the movie on a whim, but they didn't expect life to immitate art. 'The truth is, we hadn't planned to go to the movies,' Villaverde told the outlet in a translated interview. 'It was my birthday, we were walking and happened upon the theater. Since the tickets were cheaper than the rest of the week, we said, 'Shall we?' We went in, bought some popcorn, and went into the theater. The show had just started.' Towards the end of the film, a loud crash was heard. 'There was a really loud noise. At first, we thought it was part of the movie because we were so absorbed, but then a huge piece fell on me,' she exclaimed. Photos of the incident show a hole in the ceiling with debris all over the floor and on seats. A portion of the ceiling fell on her, hitting her shoulder, back, knee and ankle. She said it missed her head because she was leaning on the armrest. 'I asked for my ticket money back,' she explained. 'While I was waiting, the theater manager came to talk to me. He asked, 'How do you want to fix this?' I got angry: 'How do I want to fix this? I'm going to file a complaint. Just imagine if they hit my daughter in the head! They're irresponsible!'' She sustained some bruises and was diagnosed with trauma from the impact and was advised to undergo further X-rays. She revealed to the online newspaper that she suffers from panic attacks and an anxiety disorder. 'I'm undergoing psychiatric treatment and on medication. I have a hard time being in crowded places. I haven't been to the movies in years. I went because it was my birthday, and look what happened to me,' she said. She said she hasn't filed a complaint yet, but has contacted a lawyer. The theater hasn't issued a statement yet. The 'Final Destination' franchise follows a group of people who relentlessly escape death after surviving a mass casualty event. The films' death scenes are often gruesome and occur following bizarre accidents. 'Final Destination: Bloodlines' is currently in theaters. It's the sixth movie in the franchise, which began in 2000.
