Supercars making their way to Kerry as part of special charity road trip

The organisers of the Bumblebee 1000 Supercar charity road run have scheduled the event for June 13 to 15. The three-day trip begins in Dublin on Friday, June 13. The convoy will make its way through Kildare, Tipperary, and Limerick before reaching its day one finish line at the Neil Armstrong Way in Tralee. The supercars are expected to arrive in Tralee at 4pm on Friday, marking the end of the first leg of the journey. Newly crowned Kerry Rose Laura Daly and Mayor of Tralee Mikey Sheehy will be on hand to meet the drivers on their arrival into Tralee, where a spectacular show is promised and timed to coincide with he opening events of the Féile na mBláth festival taking place in the town park the same weekend. The road trip will feature over 100 supercars. These include the Italian Ferrari SF90, which has a twin-turbo V8 engine producing 986bhp. Also expected is the Ferrari 296 GTB, which features a twin-turbo V6 engine and generates 819 bhp. There will be a selection of Lamborghinis taking part, including Huracáns and the track-inspired STO, plus Aventadors and the super rare SVJ model. Ireland's only 2025 Bentley Continental GT Mulliner will be there, alongside German sports cars, including plenty of Porsches like the GT3 RS, and a range of BMW M cars. Participants will then travel to Killarney for their overnight stay at the Hotel Europe. All money raised from the 'Talladega Nights' Road Trip will go to Little Blue Heroes. This charity is run by An Garda Síochána and provides support for sick children. To date, Bumblebee 1000 has raised over €608,649 for this charity. On Saturday, June 14, the convoy will go on traverse the Ring of Kerry, with a fuel stop in Cahersiveen and lunch in Sneem, before arriving at the Lewis Road Car Park in Killarney at approximately 3pm. Sunday, June 15, will see the cars depart from the Europe Hotel in Killarney, heading through Cork before finishing in Portlaoise. The event is made possible with support from the Tralee Municipal District Office, Kerry County Council, Tralee Chamber Alliance, Kerry Motor Club and Mikey Sheehy, Mayor of Tralee. Actor and motorsport enthusiast, Ajith Kumar, has recently acquired a new McLaren Senna. Ajith Kumar, a popular Tamil actor and motorsport enthusiast, has just added a very rare supercar to his collection: the McLaren Senna. One of the only 500 units produced, the celebrity's new supercar sports a Marlboro livery with Ayrton Senna's autograph. Ajith Kumar is also well known for his participation in motorsports and owns a racing team called 'Ajith Kumar Racing'. The McLaren Senna supercar is track-focused, most likely bought to participate in the upcoming racing events. The purchase was posted on social media by his where the actor was seen checking out his new ride. Not just this, but the actor also owns multiple other high-value cars such as the Ferrari SF90, Porsche 911 GT3 RS, and McLaren 750S. The Mclaren Senna also gets more hardcore track versions such as the Senna GTR and the Senna LM (Le Mans). The GTR is even rarer with only 75 units produced while only 35 units of the LM have been built till now. His return to competitive racing comes after a significant hiatus from the sport. According to Chandra, the newly formed team also aims to support young drivers by providing them with a structured racing program. This initiative aligns with the broader goal of encouraging more talent in the international motorsport arena. This unit is mated with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission for laser-quick shifts. With these specs, the Senna is claimed to reach a top speed of about 350 kmph. BUMBLEBEE 1000 is now gearing up for its second charity event of 2025 — The Talladega Nights Roadtrip — which takes place on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, June 13-15. This latest adventure will feature over 100 of Ireland's finest supercars. 6 RED DEVIL: This red SF90 features loads of carbon pieces, even the Ferrari badges and weheels are carbon Credit: Darren Liggett I can't list them all but here's a few to whet your appetite. In just over two weeks you will be able to see some of Italy's finest supercars like the stunning twin-turbo V8 Ferrari SF90 that produces 986bhp, or the twin-turbo V6, 819bhp Ferrari 296 GTB. Like your Lamborghinis? Well there will be a herd of raging bulls taking part including Huracáns and the track-inspired STOs, plus V12 Aventadors and the exclusive SVJ models. Other Lamborghinis taking part is a super rare Aventador SVJ 63, a limited edition model with only 63 of them in the world. Day Three , June 15, will be another early start as those having a lie-in at the Europe Hotel in Killarney will awaken to the sounds of over 100 supercars starting up and revving into life at 9.30am. The multi-million euro convoy will head south to Cork and make a much-needed Fuel Stop at the Mallow N20 Plaza, Limerick Road in Mallow, at 11am. Lunch will be held in the Charleville Park Hotel, Charleville, Cork, at 12.30pm. Then the roadtrip will be on its final stretch as it heads for the Finish Line at the Portlaoise Plaza, Junction 17, Portlaoise, Laois at 3pm. As always, all proceeds from this event will go to the fabulous Little Blue Heroes charity that's voluntarily led by Garda members and provides vital support to the families of sick kids.
