Ryan Wood has scorched the Supercars field to set the fastest time in the first practice session in Darwin. The Walkinshaw Andretti United youngster outpaced nearest challenger Broc Feeney by more than two-tenths of a second in the Top End dry-season heat on Friday. Wood set the best lap of one minute and 7.059 seconds, with championship-leader Feeney 0.265 seconds behind and Triple Eight teammate Will Brown another hundredth of a second behind him in third. The 22-year-old won the last two races in Perth and showed promising pace as he looks to extend his 72-point gap at the top of the leaderboard at the track he won two races at last year. Teenage wildcard entrant Rylan Gray, Matt Stone Racing veteran Nick Percat and Tickford's Cam Waters also took excursions off the track on turn one, while Andre Heimgartner battled to hold onto control of his lively Camaro on several occasions. Huddersfield sign Villa defender Feeney on loan
Huddersfield have signed Aston Villa defender Josh Feeney on a season-long loan. The 20-year-old becomes the fifth signing of the summer for the League One outfit and a third defensive acquisition inside the last week following the arrivals of left-back Sean Roughan and centre-back Josh Low. Advertisement Feeney, who joined Villa's academy in 2021, brings valuable experience of third-tier football having spent last season on loan with Shrewsbury Town. Manager Lee Grant thanked the Premier League club for trusting his side with one of their "bright young talents". "Josh is a young talented defender who has a season of experience playing in this division, proving he can deal with the demands of a busy schedule," Grant told the club website. "He is ready and capable of making another step up as he becomes another addition to our back line." Feeney is the fifth signing of Huddersfield's summer following the previous two defensive acquisitions, midfielder Ryan Ledson and winger Marcus Harness.

WALTON COUNTY, Fla. (WMBB) – From winter storms to hurricanes, emergencies in Walton County can change quickly. That's why officials are turning to technology to keep people informed and alert. 'One of the critical processes that we needed in Walton County was an interactive map for our residents and visitors to be able to see real-time data of road closures as well as resources in a disaster,' said Walton County Emergency Management Operations Coordinator Catie Feeney. It's called 'Perimeter Map,' an online tool for residents to enter their address and instantly see nearby hazards. The site updates in real time, showing things like road closures, storm zones, emergency shelter locations and evacuation routes. EPIC Van Tours begins for Walton County School District The map was first used during the winter weather earlier this year, but officials say it's especially useful now as hurricane season begins. 'It shows the entire road closure, it highlights it and you can zoom in and actually get some more information. If you click on the actual road closure, it can give a description so we can give additional information of maybe what the hazard is. In addition to road closures, we can also see where points of distribution are or pods where we will be handing out food and water tarps, as well as evacuation shelters,' Feeney continued. The tool created in California works on smartphones, tablets and computers, making it easy to check on the go. 'If you can operate a smartphone, if you can operate Facebook, it is very easy. Tesla Warns Drivers About Monumental NJ Charging Station Decision

The NJTA, however, said that Applegreen committed to installing 240 EV chargers on the turnpike and Garden State Parkway, the two roads operated by the Turnpike Authority, where as Tesla has maintained 76 chargers, exclusively on the turnpike. According to Feeney, Applegreen proposed installing universal, open access chargers in all 21 service areas on the turnpike and the parkway. "The Applegreen Electric chargers work on every make and model of EV, including Teslas," Feeney said. "Half of the chargers in each service area use [a North American Charging Standard] connection, which is the Tesla standard." What To Know Service areas on the New Jersey Turnpike will begin transitioning to Universal Open Access EV chargers starting June 6, according to a May 30 statement from the New Jersey Turnpike Authority. Newsweek reached out to Tesla on June 6 requesting further comment. What's Next Tesla indicated it remains open to collaboration if state officials reconsider. "We are still willing to invest in New Jersey Turnpike sites if [the New Jersey Turnpike] or [Governor Phil] Murphy want to reverse this decision," the company said in its tweet. "Otherwise, we will continue to build out the best possible infrastructure off the turnpike to serve Tesla owners and the electric vehicle drivers of New Jersey."
