Marvel's ‘Fantastic Four: First Steps' Reveals Mole Man as New Villain

Ahead of a movie premiere, virtually everything involving Marvel seems to be calculated. This is why the latest tidbit to surface before the release of Fantastic Four: First Steps was even more noteworthy. The latest Marvel movie will hit theaters on July 25, 2025, and slowly but surely, a few small leaks have come to light. The most recent came during a panel with the cast at CCXP Mexico, as Culture Crave revealed on X. During the clip, Joseph Quinn, who will play Johnny Storm/Human Torch in the new Fantastic Four film, dropped the news that a second villain is debuting in the film: Mole Man. "It's certainly a very stacked cast. We've got a lot of fantastic characters in there," said Quinn. "There's also Mole Man, who is wonderful in it. But Galactus is the big bad." The big question is whether Quinn made this comment on purpose or if it was a slip-up by the 31-year-old actor. Considering how tight-lipped Marvel likes to keep things ahead of movie releases, it'd be a surprise if Quinn dropped this out of nowhere when he was supposed to keep it under wraps. As Collider detailed, Mole Man is one of the Fantastic Four's "classic enemies in the comics" and appeared in The Fantastic Four #1 in 1961. As the site explains, there's no clear answer as to who will play Mole Man, but Paul Walter Hauser and John Malkovich's roles are still 'Fantastic Four: First Steps' Reveals Mole Man as New Villain first appeared on Men's Journal on Jun 2, 2025

'Fantastic Four' Star Vanessa Kirby Says Pedro Pascal Relationship Has ‘Been so Easy'

The on-screen relationship between Sue Storm and Reed Richards in the Fantastic Four movies is integral to the series. Thankfully, Vanessa Kirby and Pedro Pascal were very much aware of that and have gone to great lengths to ensure it hits on all cylinders. Ahead of the release of Fantastic Four: First Steps, Kirby opened up about how much time and effort the duo put into their relationship. They built their chemistry both on and off the screen, and did so for months before filming the movie. As Collider revealed, Kirby gave specific details during a roundtable about how much went into building her bond with Pascal for Fantastic Four: First Steps. 'It's been so easy,' Kirby said of working with Pascal. 'We met months before, we wanted to do this together. We spent time, we did some workshops together. We did everything to bond prior to [filming], because when you read the comics, you're just like 'These two, man, they have lasted the course for some really hard stuff.'' Kirby called it an "iconic relationship" and detailed the importance of making it as "real" as possible. 'And you know, I always find in onscreen relationships, to believe it, you have to answer the question 'Why?' You have to know why, not just, 'Oh, those two actors are together, or those two characters belong together,' and we're told that. I get the pull, and even though they go through hard times, they keep coming back together. In the comics, to me, it always appeared like one of those really iconic relationships, but believable because it wasn't a fantasy. It was just real.' Kirby explained that she wanted to create that "deep [bond] as friends and creative partners," as Collider detailed. It's an interesting evaluation of the work both Kirby and Pascal have put in together to make the iconic superheroes' on-screen bond truly stand out. Fantastic Four: First Steps will hit theaters on July 25, 2025. Jon Bernthal Says He ‘Made' Tom Holland's Audition Tape for ‘Captain America: Civil War,' Takes ‘a Little' Credit For Him Becoming Spider-Man

Tom Holland has Jon Bernthal to thank for helping him land the role of Spider-Man. During a recent interview on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!,' Bernthal said while working with Holland on Brendan Muldowney's 'Pilgrimage,' the pair collaborated on each other's MCU audition tapes. While Holland helped Bernthal with his tryout for the leading role in the 2017 series 'The Punisher,' Bernthal assisted Holland in landing the role of Spider-Man in 'Captain America: Civil War.' 'That was where both Tom did his audition for 'Spider-Man' and I did my audition for 'Punisher.' We actually made each other's audition tapes on that film.' Bernthal explained that Holland 'really believed' that he would land that part despite heavy competition, often repeating ''I am Spider-Man'' while working on his audition. 'I was like 'There's probably a lot of people that want to be Spider-Man,'' Bernthal said. ''I mean, you're super talented and all, but the odds are kind of against you, but yeah, let's make the tape.' He just had this belief, and when you get to know him and see how he shows up, there is a reason why he is the movie star that he is.' He went on to joke that he takes 'credit' for part of why Holland became Spider-Man, citing a note to include stunts in the tape. 'I gave him the note, 'Tom, maybe you should run up that wall and do a double backflip and then start the scene,'' Bernthal explained. 'And he was like, 'Yeah, you think I should do that? That's not too much?'' He continued, 'I was like, 'I don't think any of these other fools are able to do that,' and he in fact did that. It's not that I take responsibility for him, but you know, like a little something.'
