Joey Chestnut will make his grand return to Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest this summer after last year's ban

It's not summer in NYC without Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest, which will return to Coney Island for another snappy session of competitive gorging on Friday, July 4 at Nathan's Flagship restaurant (1310 Surf Ave.) on the corner of Surf and Stillwell Avenues. And it's simply not the Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest without Joey Chestnut, the famed competitive eater who has taken the title at the annual culinary contest a whopping 16 times. And after a controversial year away from the contest, the frankfurter king will officially try to reclaim his throne this summer. Though the Kentucky native has been a faithful fixture of the Brooklyn-based eating competition for years — he won consecutively from 2007 to 2014 and again from 2016 to 2023 — Chestnut was barred from participating in the 2024 edition of the annual contest due to a competing sponsorship with plant-based food company Impossible Foods, a rival to Nathan's Famous. However, per the New York Post, negotiations have seemingly been in place these last few weeks to have Chestnut makes his grand return to the fan-favorite Nathan's event. And the champ himself revealed that those talks were successful: 'I'm thrilled to be returning to the Nathan's Famous Fourth of July Hot Dog Eating Contest. This event means the world to me. It's a cherished tradition, a celebration of American culture, and a huge part of my life,' Chestnut said in an official statement posted to his social media accounts on Monday, June 16. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Joey Chestnut (@joeychestnut) 'While I have and continue to partner with a variety of companies, including some in the plant-based space, those relationships were never a conflict with my love for hot dogs. To be clear: Nathan's is the only hot dog company I've ever worked with,' the statement continued. 'I respect that there were differences in interpretation, but I'm grateful we've been able to find common ground. I'm excited to be back on the Coney Island stage, doing what I live to do, and celebrating the Fourth of July with hot dogs in my hands!' Outside of last year's victor Patrick Bertoletti — who beat 13 challengers by wolfing down 58 full hot dogs, buns and all, in only 10 minutes — the rest of Nathan's 2025 competitors haven't been announced just yet, but having Joey Chestnut back on the frank-scarfing lineup will surely bring extra attention to the summertime ceremonies. Chestnut holds the all-time men's record for eating the most hot dogs in a 10-minute timeframe: an insane 76 franks in 2021, one more than his 2020 record. Who knows how many tubers he'll clear this year!

Taylor Swift's epic dig at Kanye West revealed by Ed Sheeran

Taylor Swift quoted Kanye West - on a jar of jam of all places - in newly-unveiled photos posted by her confidante Ed Sheeran. The Shake It Off singer, 35, penned a note for Sheeran, 34, on a jar of jam she made, writing, 'Yo Ed – I'm really happy 4 you and I'm gonna let you finish but this is the best JAM OF ALL TIME, – T.' The image came from a 10-year-old phone that Sheeran found - and uploaded the contents of - on Instagram to a new account called @teddysoldphone, which already has 152,000 followers. The Swift-West rivalry began at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards on September 13, 2009 at Radio City Music Hall in New York City when West infamously interrupted Swift during her victory speech for the Best Female Video award for You Belong With Me, which had been nominated against Beyonce 's Single Ladies. West, 47, emerged on the stage and took the microphone from Swift, telling her, 'Yo, Taylor, I'm really happy for you, I'mma let you finish. But Beyonce had one of the best videos of all-time! One of the best videos of all-time.' While the musical stars appeared to be on better terms in the years following, things blew up again after the release of West's 2016 song Famous. West claimed at the time that Swift had given him her blessing to refer to her as a 'B****' in the lyrics of the song, in a reference to the VMAs incident. The Look What You Made Me Do songstress said in response that she never made such an agreement. This led to a public feud with West after he and his former wife Kim Kardashian in July of 2016 released a call West and Swift had over the contents of the Famous song. Kardashian - who split with West in 2021 and settled their divorce the following year - alluded to Swift as a snake upon the release of the call Kardashian said in a tweet, 'Wait it's legit National Snake Day?!?!? 'They have holidays for everybody, I mean everything these days!' West rehashed his feud against his longtime rival Swift during the Super Bowl in February. He seemingly made reference to Swift at the Grammys a week before, dancing to Kendrick Lamar's Drake diss track Not Like Us. West rehashed his feud against his longtime rival Swift during the Super Bowl February 9 'IF ITS ABOUT THE CULTURE ... WHY ARE WE LETTING TAYLOR SWIFT BE SEEN ON TV SINGING A SONG ABOUT TAKING A BLACK MAN DOWN,' he wrote. The Runaway artist added that Lamar's diss track aimed at Drake accused the Toronto-born superstar 'OF THINGS THAT CAN TAKE A BLACK MAN DOWN FOR LIFE.'

'That took me down psychologically': Taylor Swift once recalled leaving the country over Kanye West–Kim Kardashian drama as new controversy begins

Taylor Swift has remained silent amidst the Kanye West controversy.(Image via Getty Images) A few days ago, Taylor Swift found herself mentioned in Kanye West's sexually explicit posts on X. Not only did the famous rapper accuse Taylor Swift of being 'racist', but he also implied a desire to have s*x with her. But this is not the first time it happened; Kanye West has spoken about having s*x with her even back in 2016, and what followed after, made Taylor Swift leave the country. Taylor Swift has spoken about living in a foreign country because of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West Two years ago, in 2023, Taylor Swift sat for an exclusive interview with TIME where she recalled the harrowing things she went through when, in 2016, Kanye West's ex wife, Kim Kardashian, released an edited footage of a phone call between the pop star and the rapper. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Villas For Sale in Dubai Might Surprise You Villas in Dubai | Search Ads Get Deals Undo As per TIME, Taylor Swift said, 'You have a fully manufactured frame job, in an illegally recorded phone call, which Kim Kardashian took me down psychologically to a place I've never been before.' The billionaire pop star added, 'I moved to a foreign country. I didn't leave a rental house for a year. I was afraid to get on phone calls....I went down really, really hard.' In 2016, Kanye West's hit song Famous had a few lyrics related to Taylor Swift. The lyrics were, 'I feel like me and Taylor might still have s*x. Why? I made that b*tch famous (God damn) I made that b*tch famous'. Taylor Swift has claimed that she was unaware that Kanye West was calling her a 'b*tch' in his new track. The footage of the phone call between the two which was released by Kim Kardashian was heavily edited, as found by Taylor's fans later. In reality, Kanye West never told Taylor Swift that he was calling her a 'b*tch' in his song but claimed that she had consented to it. When the edited footage of the phone call was released by socialite Kim Kardashian, Taylor Swift was heavily called out and criticised by Kanye West's fans. Kanye West has again created a controversy nine years later and has gotten bolder about his sexually graphic claims While things were mostly calm between Taylor Swift and Kanye West in the last nine years, the rapper has again gotten the pop star involved in a controversy with his scandulous posts about her which he later deleted. Taylor Swift's fans have fully supported her and Kanye West is being heavily called out. As per Daily Mail, Travis Kelce also wants to confront the rapper but neither of the celebrities have addressed the situation in public yet. At the moment, the pop sensation is spending quality time with her NFL star boyfriend, Travis Kelce.
