AI image of crashed jet falsely linked to Iran-Israel war

"The F-35 shot down by Iran. Much bigger than I thought," reads the Korean-language caption of an image shared on Threads on June 15, 2025. The image appears to show a massive fighter jet that has crashed in the desert and is missing its left wing. A crowd appears to have gathered around its nose. It circulated after Iranian state media said the country's forces had downed two Israeli fighter jets during a massive Israeli air raid on June 13 (archived link). An Israeli official rejected the report as "fake news" (archived link). The same image was shared on South Korean forum Aagag, and a wider crop appearing to show the plane next to a road surfaced in similar Threads and X posts as well as in other forums such as SVR Forum, Ruliweb, MLB Park and Inven. But the image has tell-tale signs of being AI generated, and the purported F-35 fighter jet does not match photos of the warplane. In the version that shows the plane next to a road, the people surrounding the aircraft appear to be as large as the buses and one vehicle appears to be fused to the road. Moreover, the shape and size of the purported crashed jet -- which according to manufacturer Lockheed Martin measures just under 16 metres (52 feet) -- differs from F-35s as seen in photos available in AFP's archives (archived link). An AFP photo of an Israeli F-35 also shows the symbol on its wing -- a Star of David on a circle -- is different to the symbol on the purported crashed jet's wing, which appears to be a star with a thick border. While generative AI technology is rapidly improving, visual inconsistencies persist and are the best way to identify fabricated content. The Iran-Israel conflict has triggered a wave of misinformation, which AFP has debunked here.

Donald Trump Rages At Reporter Who Refuses To Stick To ‘Positive' Questions

President Donald Trump on Wednesday onceagainripped a reporter to their face, this time after they dared to bring into question the idea that his supporters are completely and utterly behind every move he makes. Trump was taking questions during the unveiling of new flag poles outside the White House when CNN White House correspondent Alayna Treene asked him about the split in MAGA ranks over his increasingly hawkish backing of Israel in its war with Iran. Treene began by noting, 'Mr. President, some of your supporters are splitting on the U.S. response to…,' before Trump cut in and deployed his usual tactic of demanding to know, 'Who are you with?' When Treene said CNN, Trump scoffed, called the network 'fake news' and claimed that, 'Fortunately nobody watches.' Treene tried to repeat the question but Trump again interrupted and asked: 'Is anybody watching CNN nowadays? I haven't seen it in a long time.' Treene pressed: 'So some of your supporters are wary of the U.S. getting involved in another foreign war, and some believe that we should support it.' Trump claimed he 'hadn't seen that' and then went on a diatribe, saying: 'Do you ever ask a positive question at CNN? My supporters are more in love with me today, and I'm in love with them, more than they were even at election time.' California Leaders FURIOUS President Trump Sent the National Guard

ONLY blue state leaders would be enraged by the president providing backup to save their own city. I'm Tomi Lahren, more next. California's inept governor refused to call in the National Guard to protect LA and now he and the rest of the morons who run the city and state are infuriated that President Trump did it for them. And now the leaders of California believe- or at least they want you to believe- that sending in the National Guard to keep the city from burning from the inside out is the inflammatory part- not the people quite literally INFLAMING the city. And- of course- the hacks of fake stream media are happy to assist in that bogus narrative because in their minds the violent and lawless rioters shielding and shilling for criminal illegal aliens are the good guys with the noble cause and moral high ground. President Trump was right to call in the National Guard to LA. We learned in 2020 that if you allow thugs to go wild and unfettered, they will not stop until everything has been burned, looted, or otherwise destroyed. But as I keep telling you, Los Angeles is not savable. I am also convinced the leaders of the city and state WANT it to fail. There's no other explanation for their behavior. ABC staff turn on star political correspondent Terry Moran after his bitter clash with Trump aide

ABC News staffers have turned on suspended political correspondent Terry Moran, with some insiders calling for his firing after his post slamming Stephen Miller leaves his future at the network in doubt. Moran, who sat down with the president in April, hit out at Trump's Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller as being 'richly endowed with the capacity for hatred'. While ABC suspended him 'pending further evaluation,' anonymous colleagues are 'p***ed' and believe they didn't discipline him enough. 'He should be fired. People inside are p***ed at Terry for screwing things up for the network,' one anonymous sourced told The New York Post. The source added that Moran's tirade makes the Republican Party and Donald Trump look vindicated in their criticism of the 'Fake News.' 'Everything that Trump has said about the media - that they are haters and they are biased - Moran proved it true,' they said. Another source who worked with him previously called Moran 'a little pompous' and 'someone who has a high opinion of his opinions.' 'He would weigh in on things he had nothing to do with. He always wanted to voice his opinion - even in emails that he was cc'd on.' Moran, who sat down with the president in April , hit out at Trump's Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller (pictured) as being 'richly endowed with the capacity for hatred' The firing would not only be a show of good faith by ABC News, it could save them anywhere from $600,000 to $900,000 a year, one source's estimate of what his salary might run. 'That could save the network a lot of money, and she would demonstrate to the White House that ABC takes the issue seriously,' the source said. In a now deleted post to his X account, the ABC News correspondent said that Miller was the 'bile' behind the Trumpist movement. Moran said: 'Miller is a man who is richly endowed with the capacity for hatred. He's a world class hater. 'You can see this just by looking at him because you can see that his hatreds are his spiritual nourishment. He eats his hate. 'Trump is a world-class hater. But his hatred only a means to an end, and that end his own glorification. That's his spiritual nourishment.' In a statement the network said: 'ABC News stands for objectivity and impartiality in its news coverage and does not condone subjective personal attacks on others. 'The post does not reflect the views of ABC News and violated our standards — as a result, Terry Moran has been suspended pending further evaluation.' In a now deleted post to his X account, the ABC News correspondent said that Miller was the 'bile' behind the Trumpist movement The late night tirade was deleted but not before screenshots of his post were shared elsewhere on the site. White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt posted it on her own page, and blasted the comments. She said: 'Last night, in a since deleted post, so-called 'journalist' @TerryMoran went on a rampage against Stephen Miller and called President Trump 'a world class hater.' 'This is unhinged and unacceptable. We have reached out to @ABC to inquire about how they plan to hold Terry accountable.' Miller also waded in, saying: 'The most important fact about Terry's full public meltdown is what it shows about the corporate press in America. 'For decades, the privileged anchors and reporters narrating and gatekeeping our society have been radicals adopting a journalist's pose. Terry pulled off his mask.' Vice President JD Vance said that Moran's comments were a 'vile smear' that were 'dripping with hatred'. Vance added: 'As it happens, I know Stephen quite well. And he's motivated by love of country. 'He's motivated by a fear that people like Terry Moran make rules that normal Americans have to follow, but well connected people don't. ABC should apologize to Stephen. What Terry posted is disgraceful.' Vice President JD Vance said that Moran's comments were a 'vile smear' that were 'dripping with hatred' Moran currently covers the White House, Supreme Court and presidential campaigns for the outlet. He had been hand-picked by Trump, he claimed, to sit down with the president for his first interview with the network since Trump won a $15 million lawsuit against ABC. In a heated moment where Moran attempted to fact-check Trump, the president revealed that the choice wasn't exactly a compliment. 'They're giving you the big break of a lifetime. I picked you to do the interview because frankly, I'd never heard of you, but you're not being very nice,' Trump said. The comments about Miller, seen as an immigration hardliner, came as pro-migrant riots in California raged on - resulting in Trump calling in the national guard. Born in Chicago, Moran graduated from Lawrence University in 1982 with a degree in English. He moved to Washington, DC, and began his career in journalism writing for The New Republic. Moran then transitioned to broadcast and covered high profile criminal trials for Court TV, including O.J. Simpson and the Menendez brothers. He broke into politics by covering Bill Clinton's presidency and Al Gore's presidential campaign. Moran's ABC News biography claims it was from his reporting on the Bush v. Gore Supreme Court Decision that the former vice president learned he had lost the election. In 2004, Moran was named anchor of World News Tonight Sunday, a position he held until joining Nightline a year later. As Nightline co-anchor, he sat down for nine one-on-one interviews with Barack Obama. He has received several awards including the White House Correspondents Association's Merriman Smith Award for excellence in presidential reporting on deadline and a George Foster Peabody Award.

Trump unleashes TruthSocial tirade and blasts ‘false' claim he is attacking Harvard because he didn't get in

President Donald Trump has furiously denied claims that he is attacking Harvard because he didn't get in. Trump lashed out at Michael Wolff, the biographer who made the claim and has written about the president extensively, in a Truth Social post Monday evening. 'Michael Wolff, a Third Rate Reporter, who is laughed at even by the scoundrels of the Fake News, recently stated that the only reason I'm 'beating up' on Harvard, is because I applied there, and didn't get in,' Trump said. 'That story is totally FALSE, I never applied to Harvard. I graduated from the Wharton School of Finance at the University of Pennsylvania,' Trump continued. 'He is upset because his book about me was a total 'BOMB.' Nobody wanted it, because his 'reporting' and reputation is so bad!' Wolff presented his theory about the president last week on The Daily Beast Podcast to host Joanna Coles. 'It's also odd because so many of the people around Donald Trump went to Ivy League universities. Several of them went to Harvard Business School,' Coles pointed out. 'Obviously, JD Vance proudly went to Yale. So it does seem particularly odd, but perhaps he's also trying to stuff it to them.' 'It's important not to lend too much calculation and planning to anything he does,' Wolff responded. 'But the other thing is that, by the way, he didn't get into Harvard. So one of the Trump things is always holding a grudge against the Ivy Leagues.' It comes as the Trump administration has been accused of waging a 'campaign of retribution' against the university. The administration rescinded Harvard's permissions to enroll international students and forced currently enrolled foreign students to leave the university or risk losing their legal status in the country. Harvard immediately filed a lawsuit accusing the administration of violating the First Amendment with 'immediate and devastating effect for Harvard and more than 7,000 visa holders.' The Department of Homeland Security claims Harvard 'has created an unsafe campus environment by permitting anti-American, pro-terrorist agitators to harass and physically assault individuals, including many Jewish students, and otherwise obstruct its once-venerable learning environment.' Speaking to reporters in the Oval Office last week, the president said 'Harvard has to behave themselves, Harvard is treating our country with great disrespect.'
