Saudi Embassy hosts seminar in France
RIYADH: The Saudi Embassy in France, in partnership with the Francophone Business Forum, hosted a seminar on Saudi Vision 2030, showcasing its achievements and partnerships. The event coincided with the release of the ninth annual Saudi Vision 2030 report and drew ambassadors, French officials, media representatives, business leaders and consultants, the SPA reported on Friday. Saudi Ambassador to France and the Principality of Monaco Fahd bin Mayouf Al-Ruwaili began the seminar with a welcoming speech, followed by an overview of the ninth annual Saudi Vision 2030 report. He emphasized the report's updated information, key achievements and the strong performance of its indicators. These indicators have surpassed most targets in national programs and strategies — notably in human resource development, women's empowerment, infrastructure development, technology localization, sustainable development and environmental protection. He also spoke about Saudi-French cooperation and partnership under Saudi Vision 2030 and their joint efforts to enhance regional and international security and stability. President of Francophone Business Forum Steve Gentili delivered a speech on the growing partnerships in business, technology and the financial sector, as well as mutual investments and the attractive business environment in Saudi Arabia. President of the French Agency for AlUla Development Jean-Yves Le Drian praised the strong friendship and strategic alliance between Saudi Arabia and France and their steady development. He provided an overview of the AlUla Development Project, a major initiative under Saudi Vision 2030, and discussed its success across all stages.

Stève Gentili, President of the Francophone Business Forum, spoke about expanding partnerships in business, technology, and finance, noting the mutually beneficial investments and Saudi Arabia's increasingly attractive economic climate. Jean-Yves Le Drian, President of the French Agency for AlUla Development (AFALULA), highlighted the enduring strategic alliance and deepening friendship between Saudi Arabia and France. Additionally, he provided an update on the AlUla Development Project—one of Vision 2030's flagship initiatives—praising its comprehensive success and impact at every phase. Saudi Arabia Officiality Submits Expo 2030 Registration Dossier
Saudi Arabia has submitted an official registration dossier to the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) to host World Expo 2030 Riyadh, according to the Saudi Press Agency. Saudi ambassador to France Fahd bin Mayouf Al-Ruwaili presented the document to the Secretary General of BIE Dimitri Kerkentzes. This comes after the Kingdom was announced as the winning bid to host expo at a BIE event in November 2023. Therefore, the submission marks the actual beginning of event preparations. Kerkentzes has commended the clear organizational vision around Expo 2030 Riyadh, stating that the plan 'reflects the Kingdom's dedication and the significant efforts it is exerting to prepare for this global event and closely cooperate with BIE to ensure its success'. Interestingly, the submission features a comprehensive plan boasting all of the event's organizational, operational as well as procedural aspects, along with the scheduled operational dates. Furthermore, it involves the legislative, regulatory, and financial measures, the Expo site master plan, the conditions for international participation, and plans for utilizing the exhibition's legacy. Before the official adoption of the organization's general assembly, BIE and its members will review the document. After this step, the Kingdom will officially commence the practical preparations and extend official invitations for international participation through the proper diplomatic channels.
