Gaddar Awards Brought New Enthusiasm to the Telugu Film Industry" – TFCC Chairman Dr. Pratani Ramakrishna Goud

Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce (TFCC) Chairman Dr. Pratani Ramakrishna Goud expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Telangana state government and Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for organizing the Telangana Gaddar Film Awards in a grand and memorable manner. During a press meet held at his office, Dr. Goud lauded the event for injecting fresh enthusiasm into the Telugu film industry. 'The Telangana Gaddar Film Awards were conducted splendidly by the state government,' said Dr. Goud. 'Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, Deputy CM Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, and Cinematography Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy spent hours at the ceremony, showing their support for the film fraternity. I sincerely thank them for this. These awards have inspired filmmakers and artists, motivating them to strive for excellence. I urge that these awards be held every year without fail.' He also acknowledged the contributions of FDC Chairman Dil Raju, who played a key role in ensuring the success of the event. However, Dr. Goud did not hold back in pointing out areas that need improvement. 'It was disappointing that some of the award-winning actors did not attend the main ceremony. Their presence would have added more value to the occasion. There were also several logistical oversights. Notable industry figures did not receive passes on time senior filmmaker Tammareddy Bharadwaja received his only at 9 PM. Within the TFCC, only one or two members received passes, despite us having nearly a thousand producers.' He particularly criticized the handling of the event by FDC Commissioner Harish, stating, 'His lack of basic understanding of the film industry was evident. Better coordination and planning could have made the event even more impactful.' Dr. Goud also emphasized the need for better representation of Telangana members in the Gaddar Awards jury to ensure inclusivity and regional balance. Despite these shortcomings, Dr. Goud concluded on a positive note, appreciating the scale and spirit of the event. 'Even with a few minor flaws, I'm happy that the Gaddar Awards were conducted on such a grand scale. It has certainly set a new benchmark for how film award ceremonies should be celebrated in Telangana.'

Awards from government deserve special respect, says Dil Raju

The Telangana State Gaddar Film Awards, revived after a 14-year gap, were expected to be a grand celebration of cinematic excellence and cultural pride but the glaring absence of several Tollywood stars has triggered disappointment. Film Development Corporation (FDC) Chairman and film producer Dil Raju did not mask his frustration on the absence of stars, though he did not name them openly. When awards come from the government, they deserve special respect. The recipients should attend personally, no matter how busy they are, is what he indicated at an interaction with the media thanking them for the support. Notable absentees were stars like Prabhas, Mahesh Babu, NTR and Ram Charan, who are showered with love by the film lovers, and of course, the governments through concessions to them. Several top heroines too were missing from the grand event that was held after a gap of 14 years and for the first time after the formation of Telangana. There will be eyebrows raised and questions asked, which Mr. Dil Raju couldn't ask given his predicament of being close to the top stars producing movies with them. And this was after meticulous planning and invitations extended in advance. In a veiled message, Mr. Dil Raju expressed his displeasure at the absence, reminding that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, though allotted just one hour as per schedule, chose to stay for nearly two-and-a-half hours. The gesture of the government, first in reviving the awards, and later the CM himself spending nearly three hours, should be seen how the film industry is respected. The absence of top stars has also raised some pertinent questions, how serious is the Telugu film industry when it comes to Telangana and its cultural initiatives. The same celebrities regularly grace the film award shows of private groups, and even travel abroad for those shows. How come the government-conducted and culturally significant event is missed. Film lovers are reminded of how, in the undivided Andhra Pradesh, State film awards were star-studded affairs, considered prestigious and eagerly awaited. The revival of the awards in Telangana was expected to bring back that lost glory, but the poor turnout by top actors has dampened that spirit.

Govt aims to zhuzh up Hyd as top-class film city: Bhatti

Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka said that Hyderabad should be transformed into the capital of the Indian film industry, and instructed the Information Department Commissioner and Film Development Corporation officials to prepare a Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the same. Ministers and sub-committee members Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and Duddilla Sridhar Babu participated in the meeting and discussed several key topics. The Deputy CM said that the government aims to develop Hyderabad as a film city to attract major personalities from the film industry, both from across the country and abroad. At present, those who want to shoot films in the state have to obtain separate permissions from various departments such as the police, fire, and municipal departments, which is causing difficulties for film producers. To resolve this, the sub-committee decided to establish a single-window clearance system. The Deputy CM directed officials to appoint a dedicated officer within the Film Development Corporation who would coordinate and expedite all required departmental approvals through this single-window system. He further added that filming in various tourist destinations across the state would also contribute to the growth of the tourism sector. The Deputy CM pointed out that food and other items sold at canteens in cinema theatres are being charged at excessively high prices, causing hardship for common people. He instructed officials to implement measures to regulate these prices. The government had earlier allocated 50 acres of land to the Film Development Corporation. The sub-committee directed officials to bring a report on the current status of this land by the next meeting. He also suggested inviting the RCS Committee, formed for the Chitrapuri Colony built for film workers, to the upcoming meeting. The Telangana Gaddar Film Awards, scheduled to be held on the 14th of this month, should be organised in a truly grand and unprecedented manner, the Deputy CM said. He instructed officials to invite all prominent personalities from the Telugu film industry, as well as distinguished film actors from across India. FDC Chairman Dil Raju, Home Department Special Chief Secretary Ravi Gupta, Information Commissioner Harish, FDC Director Kishore Babu, and others were present at the meeting.
