Mohamed Mandour The Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Ahmed Al-Tayeb, issued a strong condemnation Friday of what he described as 'ongoing aggression by the occupying entity against the Islamic Republic of Iran,' warning that continued attacks and reckless actions threaten to ignite a full-scale regional war. In a statement posted on his official social media accounts, the Grand Imam criticized the 'systematic attacks' by what he called a 'usurping aggressor,' stressing that such escalation would only serve the interests of arms dealers and profiteers of bloodshed. He further denounced the international community's silence, calling it 'complicity in the crime' and a failure that endangers global security. Austria to Tighten Gun Laws Following School Shooting in Graz
Israa Farhan The Austrian government has announced plans to strengthen its firearms legislation in response to a deadly school shooting in Graz, the country's second-largest city. Chancellor Karl Nehammer revealed that the new measures will raise the minimum age for purchasing certain types of firearms from 21 to 25. The proposed reforms are part of a broader effort to prevent future tragedies and ensure stricter oversight of gun ownership. Under the new regulations, the mandatory waiting period between the purchase of a firearm and its delivery will be extended from three days to four weeks. This cooling-off period aims to provide authorities more time to conduct necessary background checks and psychological evaluations. The government also intends to place greater emphasis on mental health screening for potential gun buyers. Individuals seeking to acquire firearms will undergo more rigorous psychological assessments, with results shared between the armed forces and the national firearms regulatory authority. The move comes after a recent school shooting shocked the nation and renewed calls for tighter gun control. The reforms are expected to reduce the risk of similar incidents and improve coordination between security institutions. read more Gold prices rise, 21 Karat at EGP 3685 NATO's Role in Israeli-Palestinian Conflict US Expresses 'Strong Opposition' to New Turkish Military Operation in Syria Shoukry Meets Director-General of FAO Lavrov: confrontation bet. nuclear powers must be avoided News Iran Summons French Ambassador over Foreign Minister Remarks News Aboul Gheit Condemns Israeli Escalation in West Bank News Greek PM: Athens Plays Key Role in Improving Energy Security in Region News One Person Injured in Explosion at Ukrainian Embassy in Madrid News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War Arts & Culture Zahi Hawass: Claims of Columns Beneath the Pyramid of Khafre Are Lies News Flights suspended at Port Sudan Airport after Drone Attacks Videos & Features Video: Trending Lifestyle TikToker Valeria Márquez Shot Dead during Live Stream News Shell Unveils Cost-Cutting, LNG Growth Plan Technology 50-Year Soviet Spacecraft 'Kosmos 482' Crashes into Indian Ocean News 3 Killed in Shooting Attack in Thailand

Iran Downs Israeli Drones Near Tehran as Israel Orders Intensified Strikes
Ahmed Emam Iranian air defenses shot down several Israeli drones over the southern outskirts of Tehran, in the cities of Baghershahr and Kahrizak, according to Israeli media reports cited by Al-Qahera News. The incident comes amid a sharp escalation in hostilities between Israel and Iran. In a related development, Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz announced that he had instructed the Israeli military to step up its attacks on strategic targets in Tehran. Katz said the goal was to 'eliminate threats directed at Israel and destabilize the Iranian regime.' The reported drone operations near Tehran underscore the growing use of unmanned aerial systems in the ongoing conflict, raising the stakes in an already volatile regional standoff. read more Gold prices rise, 21 Karat at EGP 3685 NATO's Role in Israeli-Palestinian Conflict US Expresses 'Strong Opposition' to New Turkish Military Operation in Syria Shoukry Meets Director-General of FAO Lavrov: confrontation bet. nuclear powers must be avoided News Iran Summons French Ambassador over Foreign Minister Remarks News Aboul Gheit Condemns Israeli Escalation in West Bank News Greek PM: Athens Plays Key Role in Improving Energy Security in Region News One Person Injured in Explosion at Ukrainian Embassy in Madrid News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War Arts & Culture Zahi Hawass: Claims of Columns Beneath the Pyramid of Khafre Are Lies News Flights suspended at Port Sudan Airport after Drone Attacks Videos & Features Video: Trending Lifestyle TikToker Valeria Márquez Shot Dead during Live Stream News Shell Unveils Cost-Cutting, LNG Growth Plan Technology 50-Year Soviet Spacecraft 'Kosmos 482' Crashes into Indian Ocean News 3 Killed in Shooting Attack in Thailand

Austria Approves Targeted Messaging App Surveillance
Israa Farhan Austria is moving forward with plans to monitor encrypted messaging services such as WhatsApp and Telegram as part of a broader strategy to combat terrorism. The government announced that surveillance software could be used starting in 2027 under tightly controlled legal conditions. Interior Minister Gerhard Karner said on Tuesday that the conservative-led coalition government in Vienna had approved the measure, though it must still pass through parliament for final confirmation. Under the proposed legislation, the use of surveillance tools will require prior approval from a special court consisting of three judges, based on concrete evidence of criminal or terrorist activity. Initially, the plan limits the number of approved surveillance cases to 30 annually, and each case will be subject to parliamentary oversight. Karner described the measure as a major step forward in safeguarding national security. He emphasized that the proposal includes strict legal safeguards to ensure privacy rights are respected and that surveillance will only occur in high-risk situations. read more Gold prices rise, 21 Karat at EGP 3685 NATO's Role in Israeli-Palestinian Conflict US Expresses 'Strong Opposition' to New Turkish Military Operation in Syria Shoukry Meets Director-General of FAO Lavrov: confrontation bet. nuclear powers must be avoided News Iran Summons French Ambassador over Foreign Minister Remarks News Aboul Gheit Condemns Israeli Escalation in West Bank News Greek PM: Athens Plays Key Role in Improving Energy Security in Region News One Person Injured in Explosion at Ukrainian Embassy in Madrid News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War Arts & Culture Zahi Hawass: Claims of Columns Beneath the Pyramid of Khafre Are Lies News Flights suspended at Port Sudan Airport after Drone Attacks Videos & Features Video: Trending Lifestyle TikToker Valeria Márquez Shot Dead during Live Stream News Shell Unveils Cost-Cutting, LNG Growth Plan Technology 50-Year Soviet Spacecraft 'Kosmos 482' Crashes into Indian Ocean News 3 Killed in Shooting Attack in Thailand
