‘Stop Driving Now': Ford Issues Urgent Brake Recall For Super Duty Owners
Ford Motor Company has issued four new recalls impacting over 335,000 vehicles, including a serious 'Do Not Drive' order for certain Super Duty trucks due to a critical brake failure risk. The latest recalls bring Ford's total for the year to 76 separate safety actions—more than any other automaker, including General Motors, Toyota, Honda, and Volkswagen. Vehicles affected: 2025 F-250, F-350, F-450, and F-550 Built between March 19 and May 4, 2025 2,345 total units Problem: Some trucks may be missing a brake booster pushrod retaining spring, which can cause the brake pedal to disconnect, leading to total brake failure. Ford's response: The error was linked to an assembly line worker who was still in training. Ford and federal regulators have issued a 'Do Not Drive' order for affected trucks. Fix: Dealers will inspect and install the missing spring if needed. Owner notifications began going out on June 18. Vehicles affected: 2025 Mustang Mach-E 276 total units Problem: A manufacturing defect left a burr on the transmission park rod, preventing the vehicle from properly engaging in 'Park.' This could allow the vehicle to roll away when parked. Fix: Dealers will replace the transmission park rod assembly free of charge. Owners will be notified starting in July 2025. Vehicles affected: 2025 four-door Bronco 27,768 units built between January 21 and April 29, 2025 Problem: The left rear door can be opened from the inside even if the child lock is engaged. Ford attributes this to part interference, causing the child lock to malfunction. Fix: Dealers will inspect and replace the rear door latch if necessary. Notification letters begin on June 23. Vehicles affected: 2020–2025 Ford Explorer 2020–2025 Lincoln Aviator 304,662 units Problem: The second-row seat switch bezel may have been installed incorrectly, causing the seat to unexpectedly fold or slide forward, including while driving or during a crash. Fix: Dealers will inspect and replace the faulty bezel if needed. Notifications begin on June 23. Owners are advised to: Visit or to check if their VIN is affected Contact a certified Ford dealer for free repairs Super Duty truck owners should not drive their vehicles until the brake inspection is complete

Ford Goes Even More Premium With Super Duty Platinum Plus Pickups
2025 Ford F-350 Super Duty Platinum Plus It's no secret that the main reason Ford, General Motors and Stellantis' US operations are still in business is the enormous profits they make on big trucks and SUVs. Without the huge margins all three make, especially from the more premium trims of these behemoths, especially the trucks that have been protected by the 25% 'chicken tax' tariff, they would have to compete more aggressively in other market segments. Ford is now learning from airlines and trying to extract even more from their most affluent customers with a Platinum Plus package on its Super Duty pickups. 2025 Ford F-450 Super Duty Platinum Plus For the 2025 model year, Ford discontinued the Limited trim on its full-size pickup trucks and replaced it with a new Platinum Plus add-on package to the Platinum trim level. F-150s have been available with Platinum Plus since last fall and Super Duty customers will start taking delivery in the next few weeks. 2025 Ford F-350 Super Duty Platinum Plus with smoked truffle interior theme So what does Platinum Plus get you on a 2025 F-250, F-350 or F-450? It's the most luxurious version of a Ford pickup but the real differentiator is an improved customer experience. All Platinum Plus Super Duty trucks get the high-output 6.7-liter diesel V8 and four-wheel-drive with unique 20-inch painted aluminum wheels. They also come with a premium leather interior package in a dark tan color scheme that Ford calls 'smoked truffle.' The leather is on the seats, door panels, grab handles, upper dashboard, and center console. 2025 Ford F-350 Super Duty Platinum Plus Inside the front doors there are illuminated scuff plates, and the front seats are Ford's max recline setup that basically lets you lay flat to take a rest. A 2-kW Pro Power system provides several plugs in the bed to power tools and other equipment. 2025 Ford F-350 Super Duty Platinum Plus As mentioned, the real differentiator is the Platinum Plus Experience. Every customer that opts for the package gets: The goal according to Ford is to 'deepen customer engagement' and keep them loyal to the brand in an increasingly competitive market. 2025 Ford F-350 Super Duty Platinum Plus Getting this sort of hands-on treatment doesn't come cheap. The F-250 Platinum Plus starts at $99,455 including a $2,095 delivery charge. The F-350 starts at $100,955 and the F-450 goes for $105,630. On top of the Platinum Plus package, customers can also add other packages such as the Tremor or FX4 off-road packages, the vehicle integration system, a 12,000 Warn winch, retractable tonneau cover and more. Ford Recalls Trucks And SUVs For Faulty Rear Cameras
Read the full story on The Auto Wire In the past while, Ford has dealt with an inordinate number of vehicle recalls, and yet another one has been issued for certain full-size trucks and SUVs. According to an announcement from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the rear camera on the big vehicles might suddenly not work or show a distorted image, potentially leading to a total 72,624 vehicles are affected by this safety recall. They include certain 2021 Expeditions; 2021 to 2022 Super Duty F-250, F-350, F-450, F-550, F-600; and 2020 to 2022 Lincoln Corsairs. All except for the Lincoln are full-size models with giant blindspots, including at the tailgate, so the risk of hitting another vehicle or reversing over a person or animal is high should the rear camera malfunction. Considering this is for full-size models where it's hard to see what's behind you without the camera, this isn't the sort of thing we would ignore or hope doesn't affect you one day. Unfortunately, you can't get it fixed, at least not quite yet. NHTSA says a repair for the issue hasn't been formulated quite yet. But owners will start receiving notices in the mail that their vehicle needs recall work performed starting next week. In the meantime, if your camera stops working, you'll need to be extra cautious when reversing. We don't know if you'd be able to tell the image produced by the camera is distorted, but if you suspect that's the case, you'll need to be more careful. We suppose if you have another vehicle to drive you can use that instead, but it sounds like a timeline for repairing the problem isn't available yet. Ford recalls nearly 73,000 vehicles for potentially faulty rear-view camera
Ford Motor Company recalled nearly 73,000 vehicles for a potential rearview camera issue. A recall report, issued by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, says that the vehicles have a rear-view camera that intermittently goes blank or displays a warped image. The report states that cause of the malfunction is currently unknown but Ford believes that the cause is due to the specific cameras installed in the vehicles. Ford is not aware of any reports of accidents or injuries related to the recall, according to the report. Looking for a recall?
