Samsung's next mid-range phone confirmed to arrive on June 27
Samsung is going to have a remarkably busy summer. The South Korean giant is gearing up for the launch of its two foldable flagships, Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7, as well as a trio of affordable Android phones. Besides that, Samsung has one more surprise for those who aren't particularly interested in its expensive phones, Galaxy M36. The sequel to the arguably very popular Galaxy M35 has been teased by Samsung for a few days now. Today, Samsung confirmed the Galaxy M36 will be officially introduced in India on June 27. The phone will be available for purchase through Amazon India and Samsung's official website. Samsung has already revealed that the Galaxy M36 comes in three colors: Velvet Black, Serene Green, and Orange Haze. We also know the phone is just 7.7mm thick, which makes it 15 percent thinner than the Galaxy M35. When it comes to camera, there don't seem to be any upgrades, as the Galaxy M36 features the same triple camera as its predecessor: 50MP main, 8MP ultra-wide, and 2MP macro. Also, the phone features a 13-megapixel front-facing camera, just like the Galaxy will be interesting to see if Samsung managed to include a slightly bigger battery inside. There are no details about that yet, but the Galaxy M35 comes with a huge 6,000 mAh battery, which was one of the phone's main selling points. However, besides the visual aspect, the panels are pretty much the same specs-wise, and they're both protected by Gorilla Glass Victus+ too. Although no details about pricing options have been revealed yet, it makes sense for the Galaxy M36 to cost around the same as its predecessor. Moreover, Samsung has unveiled key specifications ahead of its launch. The smartphone will join Samsung's M-series lineup and has been confirmed to debut in the sub-Rs 20,000 segment. Samsung Galaxy M36 now has an official launch date
Samsung started teasing the upcoming Galaxy M36 in India a couple of days ago, and today it's finally announced when the phone is getting official: on June 27 at 12 noon local time. It will be offered through Amazon in Orange Haze, Velvet Black, and Serene Green. The screen will come with Gorilla Glass Victus+ on top, and on the rear there will be three cameras: a 50 MP main with OIS, an 8 MP ultrawide, and a 2 MP macro shooter. For selfies you're getting a 13 MP snapper inside the notch (which is a weird design change compared to the M35 that had a hole-punch). Samsung advertises 2m drop protection too. According to a recent Geekbench run, the Galaxy M36 is powered by Samsung's Exynos 1380 SoC, paired with 6GB of RAM. It will run Android 15 with One UI 7 on top.

The Galaxy M36 is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated midrangers this year, and Samsung decided to brag about it in its teaser video. Aside from hyping up users about the upcoming M36, the company also shared some interesting facts about the Galaxy M series legacy and why it is so popular nowadays. For instance, back in 2022, the Galaxy M33 was the best-selling 5G phone during the Great Indian Festival at Amazon. The M34 had the best budget camera under INR 20,000 and was also the best-selling phone on Amazon Prime for 2023. Last year's Galaxy M35 was also the best budget camera phone under INR 20,000. Clearly, the Galaxy M series is very popular in India, and Samsung promises even better hardware for this year. Although the company has not confirmed an official release date, a recent teaser on Amazon signals the phone's launch is imminent. The Amazon teaser highlights the phone's rear camera design, which shows a triple-camera setup arranged vertically. Samsung also listed the Galaxy M36 on its India website and Geekbench, which has also revealed some key specifications and features of the upcoming device. While Samsung has yet to announce the exact launch date, industry sources expect the device to debut by late June or early July. The Geekbench listing, on the other hand, confirms the Samsung Galaxy M36 will be powered by on the Exynos 1380 chipset, the same processor powering the Galaxy M35. Despite using the same chipset, the new model is expected to bring improved AI performance. It scored 1004 points in the single-core test and 2886 points in the multi-core test. The device is listed with 6GB of RAM and runs Android 15 with the One UI 7 interface. However, Samsung has not revealed details about the display, camera specifications, or battery capacity, but further information may surface soon. The F36 5G will use the Exynos 1380 chipset, come with 6GB RAM, and offer a display resolution of 1080×2340 pixels. Like the M36, it will operate on Android 15 with One UI 7.
