Bahrain Stands Firm on Gaza: Minister Urges Peacekeeping and UN Action
His Excellency Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain, participated today in a press conference held in Amman by the ministerial committee formed by the Extraordinary Joint Arab-Islamic Summit to address the situation in Gaza. The press briefing featured prominent regional leaders, including His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, Foreign Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia; His Excellency Ayman Safadi, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of Jordan; His Excellency Dr. Badr Abdelatty, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Egyptian Expatriates of the Arab Republic of Egypt; and His Excellency Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States. Bahrain Declaration at the Center of Arab Unity In his remarks, Minister Al Zayani highlighted the pivotal role of the Bahrain Declaration, which emerged from the 33rd Arab Summit held under the presidency of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the King of Bahrain. He emphasized that the declaration was not just a political statement but a unified Arab stance reflecting the collective will of the Arab world to advance a diplomatic roadmap for peace in Gaza. He stressed the urgent need for: An immediate ceasefire in Gaza The prompt release of all hostages and detainees The acceleration of humanitarian aid The rejection of forced displacement A comprehensive plan for the reconstruction of Gaza Support for Palestinian Representation and Peacekeeping Proposals Minister Al Zayani also referenced the Cairo Peace Summit, co-chaired by His Majesty King Hamad and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, where a full reconstruction plan for Gaza was endorsed. He reiterated Bahrain's position that the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) remains the sole legitimate representative of the Palestinian people. Additionally, he called for the deployment of international peacekeeping forces in Gaza, either under the UN's supervision or via a coalition of willing nations, to ensure lasting stability in the region. Backing Global Peace Initiatives and Diplomatic Expansion Dr. Al Zayani expressed Bahrain's appreciation to Saudi Arabia and France for their initiative in convening an International Peace Conference in New York later this month. He also praised Arab leaders for their directive at the Bahrain Summit to intensify diplomatic efforts aimed at: Increasing the number of countries recognizing the State of Palestine Securing full UN membership for Palestine He further commended the formation of an international coalition to implement the two-state solution, initiated by Saudi Arabia, Norway, and the European Union. The press conference underscored growing Arab consensus on urgent diplomatic measures and humanitarian action to address the deteriorating crisis in Gaza.

Saudi, Spanish FMs Discuss Gaza Crisis, Bilateral Relations in Madrid

Arab-Islamic Ministerial Committee, EU states discuss Gaza crisis and push for two-state solution in Madrid
Saudi Gazette report MADRID — The Arab-Islamic Ministerial Committee, mandated by the Extraordinary Joint Arab-Islamic Summit, convened a high-level meeting in Madrid on Sunday, to discuss the escalating situation in Gaza and the West Bank and to coordinate efforts toward a sustainable peace solution. The meeting was chaired by Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan, and attended by Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Palestinian Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Dr. Mohammed Mustafa, Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, Egyptian Foreign Minister Dr. Badr Abdelatty, Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit, OIC Secretary-General Hissein Brahim Taha, and Turkish Deputy Foreign Minister Dr. Nuh Yilmaz. They held expanded talks with the Madrid Group and several European countries, focusing on halting the war in Gaza, ending the humanitarian crisis, and advancing preparations for the upcoming high-level international peace conference on the two-state solution, to be co-hosted by Saudi Arabia and France at the United Nations in New York this June. The committee stressed the importance of joint coordination to ensure the success of the peace conference, calling for clear political, economic, and security commitments that will support the realization of a two-state solution. The ministers reaffirmed their commitment to a two-state solution based on international resolutions, including the establishment of an independent Palestinian state along the June 4, 1967 lines, with East Jerusalem as its also welcomed the efforts of the Madrid Group and European nations in supporting these peace committee expressed support for the ongoing Qatari-Egyptian-American mediation efforts to achieve a ceasefire, secure the release of hostages and detainees, and emphasized the urgent need to lift the blockade on Gaza, reopen all crossings unconditionally, and ensure uninterrupted humanitarian aid the ongoing violations committed by Israeli forces against civilians in Gaza, the committee called for upholding international law and international humanitarian members also reaffirmed their backing for early recovery efforts and the reconstruction of Gaza under the Arab Reconstruction Plan adopted at the Cairo voiced support for the upcoming international conference Egypt plans to host in cooperation with the Palestinian government and the United Nations to mobilize reconstruction committee also praised recent reform efforts by the Palestinian government, reaffirming steadfast support for all initiatives that serve the security, stability, and aspirations of the Palestinian people.

Saudi FM Arrives in Madrid to Participate in Expanded Meeting on Gaza

The Saudi FM intends to participate in the expanded meeting of the Ministerial Committee appointed by the Extraordinary Joint Arab-Islamic Summit on developments in the Gaza Strip, the Madrid Group, and a number of European countries. The meeting is scheduled to discuss developments in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, as well as international efforts to stop the war and end the humanitarian suffering in the Strip. Jordan FM joins Paris talks on Gaza
Jordan's Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi took part in a meeting held by the ministerial committee assigned by the Extraordinary Joint Arab-Islamic Summit to address the situation in the Gaza Strip. The meeting, hosted at the French Foreign Ministry in Paris, included the committee's chair, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty, and French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Jean-Noël Barrot. Discussions focused on international efforts to end the war on Gaza, ensure the unimpeded delivery of humanitarian aid, and strengthen joint action to halt violations by Israeli occupation forces against the Palestinian people and occupied territories—violations deemed contrary to international law and international humanitarian law. The officials also addressed the need to support peace efforts in the region, including the implementation of the two-state solution in accordance with relevant international resolutions, aiming to secure long-term peace, security, and prosperity. The meeting further reviewed preparations for the upcoming high-level international conference on the two-state solution, set to be held at the United Nations headquarters in New York this June, under joint chairmanship by Saudi Arabia and France.
