T-Mobile users have until today to ensure they pay the advertised price only
It was reported a few days back that T-Mobile had made it almost impossible for customers to activate Go5G plans and that the company was phasing out tax-included watch and tablet plans. Customers who wish to add lines with taxes and other fees included apparently have until today or, at most, tomorrow to do so. The Mobile Report has reiterated that T-Mobile is removing tax-inclusive versions of almost all the introduction of the ONE plan in 2017, most plans included taxes and other fees in their pricing. That changed with the new Experience More and Experience Beyond plans that were announced in April. Except for home internet plans, all T-Mobile plans will be tax-exclusive from now on. This includes smartwatches, hotspots, and other "BTS" lines (beyond the smartphone) lines. Existing tax-included plans will be grandfathered in, meaning if you have already activated a tax-inclusive plan, nothing will change for you. However, any new lines you add will be tax-exclusive. T-Mobile no longer follows this philosophy Similarly, if your home internet line is tax-exclusive, that will continue to be the case, unless you change your today's report, the change for non-voice lines will either take effect today or tomorrow. Either way, if you have been thinking about adding a new line and don't want taxes to be tacked on separately, you should act fast. Otherwise, taxes and fees excluded versions will be your only option, and you might not like that as these tend to fluctuate. As for Go5G plans, they have vanished from T-Mobile 's website and systems, though customer care might still be able to activate them for you. We are guessing that they will be removed completely alongside tax-inclusive non-voice lines. Even though T-Mobile 's new Experience plans come with a five-year price lock, that guarantee doesn't extend to taxes and fees. We've reached out to T-Mobile for a comment and will update the story when we have a response. Switch to Total 5G+ Unlimited 3-Month plan or Total 5G Unlimited and get a free iPhone. This T-Mobile free phone offer may be its hottest deal yet
T-Mobile is one of the largest cell phone carriers in the U.S., and it's only been growing. In fact, the company reported a surge in new postpaid customers in the first quarter of 2025 and boasted impressive revenue growth. It's also been adding some exciting new technologies as well as embracing old features that customers missed. Don't miss the move: Subscribe to TheStreet's free daily newsletter For example, the company recently brought back self-service SIM changes so customers can swap out their devices more easily. This is a game-changer for those who don't want to call customer service for upgrades or after a lost device. The un-carrier has also partnered with Starlink to become the first mobile phone provider to offer both a mobile and satellite network on existing devices, so you can send texts from anywhere. The company is actually offering this service in beta testing to everyone, regardless of who their phone service provider is. However, that's not all T-Mobile has been up to. It's been making some amazing phone offers lately as it adds impressive new devices to its lineup. And, now a deal that was already pretty great has just gotten even sweeter with T-Mobile's new promotional offer. Image source: Bloomberg/Getty Images While T-Mobile's phone lineup has lagged behind competitors in terms of diversity of offerings, the company's addition of the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge to its offerings is sure to make many customers happy, as it's a powerhouse of a phone packed into a small device. It's ultra-light and one of the slimmest phones on the market, but it has an impressive array of features beyond its size, including a Snapdragon® 8 Elite next-gen processor, a 200 MP camera, which no other Samsung device can beat, and Galaxy AI to help with everyday tasks. Related: T-Mobile shares game-changing tech, free for anyone to try Samsung's price for the phone is reflective of all that it offers, though. The price is $1,099.99 or, if financed over time through T-Mobile, $45.85 per month for two years. While this is far from the most expensive phone on the market, it's still a big chunk of change - but not if you take advantage of T-Mobile's amazing deals, including a new offer that may be the most competitive yet. T-Mobile has already offered some impressive deals on the Samsung Galaxy S25, including providing the phone totally free to anyone who had an eligible device to trade in, regardless of the device's condition. The carrier's latest deal, though, does not even require a device to trade. In fact, if you just add a line on the Experience Beyond or the Go5G Next service plans and you agree to make monthly payments, you'll pay nothing at all for one of the hottest new phones on the market. Related: Some T-Mobile customers get massive new discount The steep discount on the new phone comes in the form of 24 monthly bill credits applied to your account, which is pretty standard for cell phone deals. Of course, if you cancel your account before you earn the 24 credits, you'll owe the full balance due on your finance agreement. Still, if you have been waiting to add a line to your T-Mobile account, especially for someone new to cell phone use without a trade-in, this deal is one that you are not going to find too often. Of course, you still also have the option to score this phone free with a trade-in if preferred. Costco to make generous offer to frustrated phone customers
Costco (COST) , the largest warehouse club in the U.S., has been gaining a leg up on its competitors as its membership numbers continue to grow rapidly. During the first quarter of 2025, the number of Costco's paid household members increased to 78.4 million, up 6.8% compared to last year. Don't miss the move: Subscribe to TheStreet's free daily newsletter This comes at a time when Costco's products and deals continue to go viral on social media platforms such as TikTok and Instagram. Related: Costco quietly plans to offer a convenient service for customers Costco's U.S. comparable sales also spiked by 8.3% year-over-year during the quarter. This contributed to its net income of $1.7 billion, which is 2% higher than what it earned during the same quarter a year ago. Costco even outperformed its competitors by drawing in higher levels of foot traffic during the quarter. While Costco's foot traffic climbed by 6% year-over-year, Sam's Club's only increased by 2.7% and BJ's spiked by 4%, according to recent data from Image source: VIEWpress/Getty Images As Costco welcomes new members to its warehouses, it reportedly plans to launch a generous new deal next week that targets members who are frustrated with their current phone plans. According to a recent report from Costco Insider, Costco's July 2025 Coupon Book will feature a deal that offers members $450 if they switch to T-Mobile (TMUS) and purchase/activate a new phone on either its Experience More or Experience Beyond plan. Related: Costco quietly limits customer purchases of a beloved product Members who switch from AT&T, Verizon, Xfinity, Spectrum, USCellular, Claro, or Liberty Puerto Rico will receive a $200 Costco Shop card and a $250 Virtual Visa prepaid card, equivalent to $450. Customers can even stack the deal, meaning they can receive up to 12 $200 Costco Shop cards and a maximum of four $250 Visa cards if they add 12 lines to the account. The promotion is valid between June 18 and July 20. Costco's upcoming deal comes amid an exodus of T-Mobile phone customers after the provider implemented a series of price hikes. The phone carrier revealed in its first-quarter earnings report for 2025 that the number of customers who cut their phone service increased by 5 basis points year-over-year. Also, while T-Mobile added 495,000 new postpaid phone customers during the quarter, that number is 6% lower than the amount it welcomed during the same time period last year. More Retail: Costco quietly plans to offer a convenient service for customersT-Mobile pulls the plug on generous offer, angering customersKellogg sounds alarm on unexpected shift in customer behavior During an earnings call in April, T-Mobile CEO Mike Sievert said the recent spike in churn is mainly due to consumers becoming more nervous about the state of the economy. "So overall, you saw across the industry churn was just on the margin a little elevated, and I think there's a number of dynamics there," said Sievert during the call. "That probably has more to do with kind of macro questions than with competition. You know, I think there's a certain element out there where people are in a time of uncertainty about the future, grabbing what they can afford now. And so you're seeing [more customer] upgrades and switching." Amid this concerning trend, many consumers have been flocking to cable companies to sign up for phone plans. Spectrum, Comcast, and Altice USA have added 886,000 new phone customers during the first three months of 2025, which is up from the 804,000 it added during the same time period last year, according to a recent report from MoffettNathanson.
