e& enterprise and Exeed Industries team up to fast-track UAE's Industry 4.0 shift - Middle East Business News and Information
e& enterprise, the digital transformation arm of e&, and Exeed Industries, a leading UAE industrial group and a subsidiary of National Holding, have signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), the partnership is a multi-year programme set to accelerate digital transformation across Exeed Industries' UAE-based factories. Together, both entities will develop a comprehensive Industry 4.0 roadmap – a strategic plan that guides manufacturers in adopting smart, connected technologies to boost efficiency and competitiveness – underpinned by AI and sustainability. The goal is to strengthen the resilience and global standing of UAE manufacturing. e& enterprise will lead the development of the Exeed Industries technology blueprint for Industry 4.0 strategy, working closely with each manufacturing unit and the Group. This roadmap will be key in enabling Exeed Industries to access funding opportunities from Abu Dhabi Investment Office through the Smart Manufacturing Accelerator Programme (SMAP), to implement transformative projects at scale. The scope covers conducting maturity assessments across five Exeed plants, developing tailored smart manufacturing roadmaps, and Deployment of Industrial IoT (IIoT) technologies integrated with AI and GenAI engines, digital twins (which use IIoT data to mirror the real-time performance and condition of physical assets), predictive maintenance and automation. It also includes deploying AI for functions like demand forecasting, quality control, and energy optimisation, as well as integrating ESG-driven platforms to monitor and reduce carbon impact. Chery launches another SUV brand in China called Lepas
Chery's SUV expansion continues with the Chinese automotive heavyweight unveiling a brand-new marque, Lepas, aimed squarely at younger, style-conscious buyers. The first vehicle to emerge from Lepas is dubbed the L8, and it rolled off the production line in Wuhu, China last month. The L8 will spearhead the brand's global push, leading a line-up that includes the mid-size L6, compact L4 and entry-level L2. All four will share Chery's versatile T1X platform, already familiar to Kiwi buyers through models like the Jaecoo J7 while the Chery Tiggo models will be here soon too. With global annual sales targets of 500,000 units, Lepas is set to become a major player in Chery's expanding stable of sub-brands, which already includes Exeed, Jetour, Omoda, Jaecoo, and Luxeed, among others. It's been reported that Chery Australia remains tight-lipped on plans for Lepas to show up Downunder, but the brand's ambitions and existing momentum suggest a likely entry at some point. Lepas vehicles will offer battery-electric, petrol-hybrid (non-plug-in), and pure petrol drivetrains. The L2 will launch as a full EV, while hybrid models will employ Chery's latest 'Super Hybrid System' that has already been seen in the Jaecoo J7 SHS Summit. Chery claims a real-world range of over 1400km from this setup, rivalling some diesel offerings in long-haul capability. Locally, Chery is deep into an SUV roll-out, with a range of Tiggo models confirmed for New Zealand. More hybrids and plug-in variants of the Omoda 5, Tiggo 7 Pro, and Tiggo 8 Pro Max are also under consideration.

The China-owned car company Chery just raised the bar for electric SUVs with its new car, and the jet-inspired design is making waves already. The Chery Exeed VX C-DM three-row SUV made its public debut this February, and it was touted for its sleek design and affordable price — only $33,085 U.S. Called "the land business jet," the Exeed takes the interior design of a private jet and imagines it within the context of a car, featuring high-quality leather and massage chairs. Alongside being a nice-looking car, the Exeed VX C-DM has an electric mode, which has a range of more than 100 miles when utilized. This fact makes this car not only an appealing option from the aesthetic point of view but also from an environmental standpoint. Exeed ET secures five-star safety certification, set for global debut in UAE market
The China Automotive Technology & Research Centre (CATARC) released the latest crash test results under the 2025 edition of the China New Car Assessment Programme (C-NCAP). The Exeed ET, incorporating advanced safety technologies, became the first mid-size electric SUV globally to receive the prestigious five-star rating in the C-NCAP evaluation. The C-NCAP guidelines by CATARC have been upgraded to align with global safety standards through stricter testing protocols. As Exeed's strategic market, Middle Eastern road conditions and user demands - including high-speed driving patterns, family-oriented user base, and prioritized safety for children and female passengers - were integral to ET model's R&D process from its conceptual phase, with structural reinforcements and restraint system optimizations implemented accordingly. Occupant Protection: Leading Safety Performance The Exeed ET scored 91.28 per cent in occupant protection, ranking first among mid-to-large pure electric SUVs in C-NCAP testing. Under stricter 2024 protocols - including increased frontal collision speed (55 km/h) and side-impact speed (60km/h) - the vehicle demonstrated exceptional structural integrity. Its A/B pillars remained intact, cabin intrusion was minimal, and all doors functioned post-collision. Airbags deployed precisely, while active seat belts and enhanced undercarriage safety further validated its all-scenario passive safety capabilities. VRU Safety: Enhanced Protection for Pedestrians and Cyclists With a 76.2 per cent score in Vulnerable Road User (VRU) safety, the EXLANTIX ET excelled in updated evaluations combining pedestrian head/leg impact tests and AEB scenarios. Its hood crumple zones reduced dummy injury values significantly, while the integrated AEB system responded effectively to pedestrians and cyclists in complex cross-intersection simulations. The vehicle's multi-layered protection system met new criteria for child targets and obstacle-inclusive scenarios. Active Safety: Intelligent Systems for Comprehensive Coverage Scoring 85.99 pr cent in active safety, the Exeed ET aced rigorous tests under expanded protocols. Its AEB system prevented collisions in highway rear-end and cross-intersection scenarios, while lane-keeping assist and curve departure warnings ensured stable trajectory control. The vehicle also complied with 12 new standards, including Door Opening Warning (DOW), Driver Monitoring (DMS), and Adaptive High Beam Assist (AHBA). Enhanced night lighting performance further solidified its safety network in every weather condition, delivering clear visibility in challenging conditions According to Exeed officials, the ET model is positioned to compete with premium SUV models in the Dh500,000 segment. The UAE has been designated as the global launch market for both this vehicle and its premium EXLANTIX new energy line-up, with subsequent European deployments planned in markets including Norway and the United Kingdom.
