Maroc Telecom Unifies Governance Structure to Boost Strategic Agility
Rabat – Maroc Telecom has officially transitioned to a unified governance model, replacing its previous dual structure with a streamlined Board of Directors, as approved during the company's Extraordinary General Assembly on June 18, 2025. The move, announced following a board meeting held on Thursday, is aimed at enhancing decision-making efficiency and aligning with the company 's accelerated strategic development goals. The change marks the end of the dual governance framework composed of a Supervisory Board and Executive Board, now merged into a single governing body. All former members of the supervisory board have been retained as board members, ensuring leadership continuity and a smooth transition in the group's strategic oversight. Mohamed Benchaâboun has been confirmed as the new CEO of Maroc Telecom, a role he previously held as Chairman of the Executive Board. His leadership comes at a time of major transformation for the telecommunications giant, which continues to expand its digital footprint and invest in innovation across Morocco and its African subsidiaries. Netherlands Picks Sleijpen to Succeed Knot at Central Bank

Sleijpen, currently a member of the institution's executive board, will start his seven-year term on July 1. He'll succeed Klaas Knot, who led the central bank for 14 years and couldn't stand for another period. King Willem Alexander is set to officially sign his appointment by royal decree.

ECB monetary policy is in a good place now - ECB's Schnabel
BRUSSELS, June 12 (Reuters) - European Central Bank interest rates are in a "good place" now despite an expected slowing of inflation because price growth is likely to return to the ECB's target of 2% over the medium term, ECB's Executive Board Member Isabel Schnabel said. Schnabel told a seminar the expected decline in euro zone inflation, which the ECB forecasts at 1.6% in 2026, was a temporary phenomenon, due to energy price effects and the stronger euro exchange rate. "It is a clear case of looking through temporary deviations," Schnabel said. The ECB has cut rate eight times over the last year, most recently in June, setting the deposit rate at 2%, but some investors expect the bank to make one more cut to 1.75% before the end of the year.
