Excelsior sign Vitesse stand-out Gyan de Regt
Excelsior have presented Gyan de Regt, after he left Vitesse on a free. The 21-year-old left-winger has signed for two years, with an option for another year. De Regt was one of few bright points for the struggling Arnhem side, as he scored four goals and registered seven assists in 35 Keuken Kampioen Divisie games. Advertisement 'I have been in contact with technical manager Niels van Duinen for quite some time now', he said via club channels. 'I have always felt confident in him. In addition, I know Excelsior's reputation as a club that dares to give young players opportunities, also to grow further later. Furthermore, the promotion to the Eredivisie was, of course, an important point, and I have spoken to other players about the atmosphere in the club. What I have heard about that also suits me well.' Niels van Duinen sees De Regt as a true winger, with depth and speed: 'Gyan can also use the space behind the opponent's last line. That is, certainly in our style of football, a relevant weapon. Despite the fact that Gyan is only 21 years old, he has already played a lot of minutes in the past seasons, both in the Eredivisie and in the KKD. In addition, he has a great mindset, he really wanted to come to Excelsior and he comes from our region.' GBeNeFN | Max Bradfield

Marvel boss Kevin Feige confuses all of us by saying the Fantastic Four ship in the Thunderbolts post-credits might not be "the same ship" as the Excelsior
When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has just dropped a big hint about how The Fantastic Four: First Steps will connect to the rest of the MCU as it kicks off Marvel Phase 6, all hinging on the post-credits scene of Thunderbolts*, in which the newly minted New Avengers watch the FF's ship the Excelsior approach Earth on a view screen. "Their ship is the Excelsior, and there is a Fantastic Four ship entering the MCU ... But I'm not sure they're the same ship," Feige tells Empire Magazine (via Culture Crave). The thing is, even as a lifelong comic reader and fan of the Fantastic Four, I have no idea what the heck he means by this. It doesn't help that there's not any more context given with the tease. There are a few possibilities that spring to mind, but the grammar puzzle nature of Feige's words - likely intentional - leaves me with more questions than answers. My best guess is that the ship, while similar to the Excelsior, is a different ship of some kind. It could be a different, souped-up ship that the FF will use to travel between dimensions. Or perhaps even something related to Doctor Doom. Maybe most likely is the idea that the ship will be a vessel by which Reed Richards and his family are able to escape the destruction of their home universe. In the lead up to 2015's Secret Wars, Reed helps build a so-called "ark" that allows him and some of Marvel's heroes to escape reality being rewritten around them. What seems least likely is that there's yet another Fantastic Four besides the team that lives in their own side reality away from the core MCU. It's all but certain that the ones who star in The Fantastic Four: First Steps will be the same FF to travel into the MCU. That said, it's not impossible that this is somehow the Reed Richards and family of the core MCU, or some other strange twist. We probably won't find out exactly what the deal is until The Fantastic Four: First Steps arrives in theaters on July 25. In the meantime, check out our guide to all the upcoming Marvel movies and shows for everything else that's on the way.

Swansea City announce second departure in less than 24 hours as deal cut short
Swansea City announce second departure in less than 24 hours as deal cut short Swansea City have confirmed another departure this summer Nathan Tjoe-A-On of Swansea City (Image: Huw Evans Picture Agency ) Nathan Tjoe-A-On has left Swansea City by mutual consent. The full-back, who's won 12 caps for Indonesia, was signed from Excelsior for a fee believed to be around £350k back in the summer of August 2023. He has since become a big star among Indonesian fans, amassing millions of social media followers, and he was the first player from the country to make an EFL appearance. However, he has largely struggled to make an impact on the first team - firstly under Michael Duff and then under Luke Williams. He was loaned out to Dutch side Heerenveen in January 2024, and his chances of first-team football have shown little sign of improving under current boss Alan Sheehan. Article continues below It's not yet known whether the 23-year-old has another destination lined up, but he leaves Swansea despite previously having a year left to run on his current deal. In total, he made just three appearances for the Swans, with his only two starts coming in last season's EFL Cup campaign, which included an embarrassing defeat at home to Wycombe Wanderers. His only outing in the league came as a late substitute against Preston North End back in August. Article continues below Tjoe-A-On's departure is the latest move away from what was widely seen as a disastrous recruitment drive in the summer of 2023 under previous sporting director Paul Watson. Of the 13 players brought in that summer, only five players remain, with Kristian Pedersen and Mykola Kuharevich among the latest to depart. That number could yet dwindle further before the summer is over, with the club also likely to listen to offers for striker Jerry Yates, who spent last season on loan at Derby County.
