When the Missouri Tigers landed Omaha-based tight end Isaac Jensen earlier this week, we mentioned how his pledge didn't mean that Mizzou was done recruiting the position in this cycle. But, just because they might still have interest in some players doesn't mean the players will see it the same way. In one case, they're going to have to look past a Kansas City tight end who is ranked high on their boards. Advertisement Three-star tight end Kevin Sullivan announced his commitment to rival Kansas on Thursday evening. Sullivan was a top in-state target of Eli Drinkwitz and is scheduled to visit Missouri on June 20. Sullivan attends Rockhurst High School in Kansas City, Missouri and is ranked as the No. 2 tight end in the state of Missouri, behind fellow Kansas commit Jack Utz out of Platte County High School. Although you never want a prospect that you're pursuing to choose a rival school, the commitment is not the end of the world for Mizzou. At 6'6" 220, Sullivan matches up similarly to what the Tigers got in Isaac Jensen and there are plenty of other tight ends on Mizzou's radar. Advertisement Missouri is still in the mix for four-star Evan Jacobson, who visited campus last month. Jacobson is a stud prospect who is the No. 3 ranked player in the state of Iowa and would make an immediate impact at Mizzou. Though, his recruitment seems to be an uphill battle, with tight end factories like Notre Dame and Texas A&M heavily pursuing him. With the addition of Jensen for the Tigers, that likely pushed Sullivan out of Drinkwitz and Co's plans, leading to his commitment to the Jayhawks. The Tigers still have four committed prospects in their 2026 recruiting class, including four-star quarterback Gavin Sidwar, four-star linebacker Keenan Harris and four-star wide receiver Jabari Brady, along with the aforementioned three-star tight end Isaac Jensen. Notre Dame gets good news on 2026 recruits Joey O'Brien, Evan Jacobson, and Kaydon Finley There is plenty going on the recruiting trail for Notre Dame football, and over the course of the last few days, its been a busy one. Multiple offers have been sent out to different classes, but that wasn't the only news that the Irish received. With 16 commitments in the 2026 cycle, Notre Dame has one the country's best at the current moment. For it to finish off near the top, they'll have to add multiple more players and keep the one's they have committed now. There is some good news and bad, so find out the latest on Notre Dame football's recruiting efforts. (Note: All rankings are via the 247Sports Composite.) 2026 safety Joey O'Brien This is a big visit for the Irish, as the 6-foot, 3-inch and 185-pound star is the No. 65 overall prospect. O'Brien is set to make his commitment on June 20th, and as of right now, he doesn't have any other trips planned. It's a battle between Oregon, Clemson, Penn State and Notre Dame, and we'll find out soon where the talented safety lands. 2026 tight end Evan Jacobson The Wisconsin tight end changed up his schedule, as Mike Singer reports that Auburn and Florida State are out, and replaced by Notre Dame and Iowa State. You have to like how this one is playing out for the Irish, as the 6-foot, 7-inch and 220-pounder has the potential to be very good. Jacobson, the No. 274 ranked player, has already taken visits to Texas A&M, Missouri and Stanford, but still needs more time to make up his mind. 2026 defensive tackle Alister Vallejo commits to Michigan While the Irish have multiple guys committed on the defensive line, they don't have a true interior player in that group yet. Vallejo has good size at 6-foot, 3-inches and 310-pounds and Notre Dame would have loved to beat out Michigan in this one, but you can't win them all. 2026 wide receiver Kaydon Finley Singer again reporting that Finley will make a commitment on July 4th, less than a month from now. The 6-foot and 200-pound receiver will be on campus for his official visit this weekend, so the Irish will have a final chance to show him why South Bend is the best option. The nation's No. 110 player still has an official to Texas for next weekend, so this one is far from over. What to make of this Losing Vallejo isn't ideal, but they do have Tiki Hola committed at the moment. It's his size that separates him, and it'll be hard to find a replacement for that. The O'Brien news is very encouraging, especially considering the timing of the situation. It does seem like Notre Dame has some ground to make up, but they could push themselves to the top after this weekend. Same goes for the Finley verbal date, and Jacobson's change of plans, as they can also be viewed as good developments for the Irish.

This month, Texas A&M will host a wide range of elite 2026 prospects, which now includes four-star tight end Evan Jacobson out of Waukee, Iowa. Standing at 6'7" and 200 pounds, Jacobson is already an elite red zone target who thrives in the seam, possessing enough speed and twitch to outmaneuver smaller defenders. Playing in a run-heavy offense, which is very common in Iowa, Jacobson has been Waukee's most reliable receiving target throughout his starting career, thriving in the short game. At the same time, his size advantage has made him a sneaky deep threat. Like many tight end prospects, Jacobson will improve as a route runner once he enters a collegiate program. In Texas A&M OC Collin Klein's tight end-centric scheme, he could turn into one of the better SEC tight ends going into his second or third season. Auburn target Evan Jacobson recaps recent visit to the Plains Auburn is in a three-team race for the four-star TE from Iowa. Auburn is among three teams in heavy pursuit of the top recruit from Iowa for the 2026 recruiting cycle. Evan Jacobson, a 6-foot-7 tight end from Waukee, Iowa, recently visited Auburn and came away impressed. In a recent interview with Steve Wiltfong of On3, Jacobson described Auburn as "comfortable." 'Another great visit,' Jacobson said in an interview with On3. 'It feels like I'm saying the same thing on repeat because everybody does everything so good. But Auburn I feel really comfortable with. It was my third time there and it felt more like we were just hanging out instead of being on a visit. It's super easy to talk to Coach Ben (Aigamaua) and Coach (Hugh) Freeze.' Auburn is in a great spot to land Jacobson. However, strong pushes are also being made by Wisconsin and Florida State. Jacobson visited both places last week in addition to Auburn and said that their use of the tight end in their respective offenses is a positive aspect. Jacobson is a four-star tight end from Waukee High School in Iowa. He is the state's No. 1 player according to 247Sports and is the No. 11 overall tight end from the cycle. He has not received a crystal ball prediction from 247Sports, but On3 gives the edge to Notre Dame with an 81.2% forecast from the recruiting prediction machine. According to 247Sports, Jacobson is scheduled to return to Auburn for an official visit on June 13. Hugh Freeze and his staff could make a splash this summer and boost the program's odds of landing one of the nation's best players from the 2026 recruiting cycle.
