Eric Dane's alleged girlfriend 'blindsided' by his red carpet debut with new romance amid ALS battle
Eric Dane 's alleged girlfriend Priya Jain has been left 'blindsided' after the actor made his carpet debut with a new romance this week in Los Angeles. The Euphoria actor, 52 - who unveiled shock amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) diagnosis in April - was seen attending the premiere of his new show Countdown on Wednesday, but was notably joined by filmmaker Janell Shirtcliff. He flashed a cheerful smile as he posed for a brief photo session and cozied up with Janell at the event. But Dane's alleged partner Priya Jain was left 'blindsided' - with a source telling Page Six on Thursday that, 'They never broke up.' Eric was first linked to the actress late last year in November, following his separation from estranged wife Rebecca Gayheart. The pair have since called off the divorce amid his ALS battle. The insider further stated that both Dane and Priya became 'exclusive' late last year and she was left 'devastated' following his health diagnosis - but still stayed by his side. According to the source, Eric and Jain have spent nights together at his home - where she also keeps some of her belongings. The pair had spent time together this past weekend - just days before he walked the red carpet with Shirtcliff. Priya was last publicly seen with the actor last month in May as they stepped out in L.A. together. And on Tuesday of this week, the Grey's Anatomy alum was spotted on a date night with Janell at the iconic Chateau Marmont in West Hollywood. He was then accompanied by Shirtcliff the following day at the premiere of his latest Amazon Prime Video crime drama series Countdown. The pair were seen gazing lovingly into one another's eyes as they posed together for the cameras, Eric in summery white and Janell in a sleek burgundy cocktail dress. 'The two have been in an on-and-off relationship for over three years and care deeply for each other,' a source recently told Entertainment Tonight. 'Eric asked Janell to be there for him during this time, and she wanted to show up for him,' the insider explained, adding that they are 'extremely close and mean a great deal to one another.' The insider further said that they enjoyed 'a beautiful day together full of laughs, lightness, and love' on Tuesday. While walking the red carpet for his new police procedural on Wednesday, Eric remarked: 'I feel good,' during an interview with Variety. 'It's nice to be here with everybody and see the hours and hours of work that we put into this come alive on screen,' added the Grey's Anatomy alum. His sighting comes after he responded to a query about whether he would continue his career amid his illness by bluntly replying: 'I'm going to ride this till the wheels fall off,' while speaking to E! News on Tuesday. 'It keeps me sharp. It keeps me moving forward, which is super important right now.' Eric insisted he feels 'great when I'm at work' despite losing the function of his dominant right arm in the year since he was diagnosed with ALS. 'Of course, there have been some sort of setbacks,' Dane admitted. 'But I feel pretty good. My spirit is always pretty buoyant, so at the end of the day, that's all that matters.' Back in April, the actor told People: 'I have been diagnosed with ALS. I am grateful to have my loving family by my side as we navigate this next chapter.' He then gave a positive update and explained that he still had plans to continue work on set. The shocking news comes two months after Eric and his estranged wife Rebecca Gayheart - with whom he shares daughters Billie, 15, and Georgia, 13 - called off their divorce. In March, Gayheart filed to dismiss the divorce after she had first filed documents to end their marriage back in 2018, per TMZ. The rare and incurable degenerative condition impairs the nervous system over time and causes the muscles to increasingly suffer from paralysis. About half of ALS patients have a life expectancy of three years after the initial onset of symptoms, though some can survive for decades. will fly to Germany and eat the head off a rattlesnake if [doctors] told me that that would help,' Eric told Good Morning America's Diane Sawyer. 'I'll assume the risk'; seen in 2022 in L.A. The Bad Boys: Ride or Die action star is currently taking medication to slow the symptoms and he's also participating in a research study. 'I will fly to Germany and eat the head off a rattlesnake if [doctors] told me that that would help,' Eric told Good Morning America's Diane Sawyer. 'I'll assume the risk.' Dane fears he will lose function of his left hand 'in a few more months' and he's also 'worried about my legs.' But he added, 'I'm very hopeful, yeah, I don't think this is the end of my story. I'm pretty resilient. I just don't feel, like in my heart, [that] this is the end of me.'

Eric Dane's alleged girlfriend was ‘blindsided' by his red carpet debut with Janell Shirtcliff
Eric Dane's alleged girlfriend, Priya Jain, was 'blindsided' by his red carpet debut with Janell Shirtcliff, Page Six has exclusively learned. 'They never broke up,' a source told Page Six on Thursday. The actor, 52, brought Shirtcliff to Wednesday's Los Angeles premiere of his new series, Countdown, with a source claiming to Entertainment Tonight that 'the two have been in an on-and-off relationship for over three years and care deeply for each other.' However, Page Six is told it was the first time Jain, 27, had ever heard of the director, 41. Our source said Jain, who has been photographed with Dane multiple times, met him last summer and that they became 'exclusive' in November 2024 — right before he was diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). He announced his diagnosis in April. According to our source, Jain was 'devastated by the diagnosis' but stood by the Grey's Anatomy star's side. Interestingly, ET's source claimed that 'Eric asked Janell to be there for him during this time, and she wanted to show up for him.' It is understood told that since Jain and Dane met, she has spent almost every night at his house, where she has tons of clothes. The source added that the actress has even spent time with Dane's kids — daughters Billie, 15, and Georgia, 13 — whom he shares with Rebecca Gayheart. Gayheart, 53, has since clarified that she and her on-again, off-again husband are 'staying a family' and remain the 'best of friends.' Not only did Jain and Dane get matching star tattoos late last year, but the Euphoria star also gave her a tattoo with an at-home tattoo gun shortly after, it was claimed. The source added that the last time they saw each other was this past weekend, while the last time they were photographed together was mid-May. Reps for Dane, Jain and Shirtcliff did not immediately respond to Page Six's requests for comment.

Eric Dane, who famously bathed with 2 women, now appears tangled up with 3
Eric Dane and filmmaker Janell Shirtcliff looked to be in full couple mode Wednesday at the premiere of Prime Video's "Countdown," a new series he stars in with Jensen Ackles. Hands were held; smiles and admiring glances were exchanged. He was definitely not with Rebecca Gayheart, whom he married in October 2004 and just said — on national news, no less — is the person he reaches out to daily for "stalwart" support. Nope, even though Gayheart in early March requested the dismissal, without prejudice, of the 2018 divorce petition she had filed against Dane. Read more: Eric Dane announces ALS diagnosis, will return to 'Euphoria' set next week Dane revealed in April that he had been diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, a.k.a. ALS, or Lou Gehrig's disease. Earlier this week, he revealed that he had lost function in his right arm due to the neuromuscular disease and felt his left arm failing. So who's dating whom? Dane's relationship status is a bit fuzzy. The "Grey's Anatomy" alum, 52, has been "in an on-and-off relationship" with Shirtcliff for more than three years, Entertainment Tonight reported Wednesday. The two "care deeply for each other," the outlet said, citing a source who added, "Eric asked Janell to be there for him during this time, and she wanted to show up for him." Shirtcliff, who is a photographer and director, is in pre-production on the film "Generation Angst" and post-production on the horror flick "Triton," according to IMDb. Jain and Dane met last summer and became "exclusive" in November 2024, the source said. "They never broke up." The two have been photographed arm-in-arm in public and have matching tattoos, and she has spent "almost every night" at his house since they coupled up, Page Six said. They reportedly were together last weekend. This three-way confusion is a tiny bit reminiscent of Dane and Gayheart's nude 2009 bathtub video with actor Kari Ann Peniche, which Dane discussed in 2019 with Glamour. In the leaked video, the three could be seen bathing together naked — not having sex — and discussing their potential porn names about 15 years into the Gayheart-Dane marriage. "I don't necessarily think I was breaking any laws and corrupting anybody. We were just three people taking a bath," he told the magazine. He added, referring at the time to the entirety of his past — including the bathtub video and his addiction to prescribed painkillers — 'I have no regrets nor do I make any apologies for my life experience. It's my life experience and I am at peace with all of it.' "I call Rebecca. I talk to her every day," Dane said Monday on "Good Morning America," fighting back tears as he talked about battling ALS. "We have managed to become better friends and better parents. And she is probably my biggest champion, my most stalwart supporter, and I lean on her." There is currently no cure for ALS. Despite already losing the use of his right arm and fears he has about what ALS symptoms he may experience next, the actor told E! News in an interview this week that he plans ot keep working "'til the wheels fall off." "It keeps me sharp. It keeps me moving forward, which is super important right now," he said. "I feel great when I'm at work," he added. "Of course, there have been some sort of setbacks, but I feel pretty good. Why Americans who live near coastlines and lakefronts may face heightened ALS risk
If you live near bodies of water frequently impacted by harmful algal blooms, you may be at an increased risk of dying from ALS, new research reveals. Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, the debilitating neurodegenerative disease commonly known as 'Lou Gehrig's Disease,' is influenced by genetics and environmental factors. It dramatically slashes the patient's life expectancy, with people typically passing away within two to five years of diagnosis. Some 5,000 are diagnosed with ALS each year in the U.S., and there are approximately 15 new cases each day. Recently, Grey's Anatomy star Eric Dane announced he was battling the disease and told Good Morning America that his body's right side had 'completely stopped working.' Now, researchers at the University of Michigan Medicine say toxins produced by algal blooms in lakes and along American coasts could influence disease progression. 'While there is still limited research into the mechanism by which cyanobacteria toxins affect neurodegenerative diseases, our findings suggest that living near or participating in activities in these water bodies may influence the progression of ALS,' Dr. Stephen Goutman, the school's Harriet Hiller research professor, director of the Pranger ALS Clinic, and associate director of the ALS Center of Excellence, said in a statement. Goutman is the senior author of the study which was published in the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health. Specifically, the researchers have found a toxin produced by the bloom cyanobacteria in brain and spinal fluid cerebral spinal fluid samples of people with ALS. It's known as ß-methylamino-L-alanine. Increasingly driven by human-caused climate change and nutrient pollution, the blooms are caused when cyanobacteria grows dense and out of control. Cyanobacteria produce several toxic agents that are linked neurodegenerative diseases, including Alzheimer's and Parkinson's. They surveyed participants who were seen at the University of Michigan Pranger ALS Clinic, many of whom lived within three miles of a harmful algal bloom. They measured the duration and extent of their exposure using satellite data from the Cyanobacteria Assessment Network and their residential and health histories. Ultimately, they found that living near blooms -- especially if swimming or boating -- was associated with dying of ALS nearly one year sooner. The people with the most significant exposures both lived near harmful blooms and used a private well as their water source. People in the Midwest may be particularly threatened partially due to pervasive industrial and agricultural productions in the region. Michigan's Lake Erie is frequently impacted by these blooms. 'If exposure to cyanobacteria toxins is a meaningful risk factor for ALS, the large number of inland lakes from to such bacteria in the Midwest may partly explain why the disease incidence is much higher than other parts of the country,' Dr. Stuart Batterman, first author and professor of environmental health sciences at the university's School of Public Health, said.
