Fact Check: AI-generated image shows Trump on Epstein's jet with underage girls

Claim: A photo shared online authentically depicts U.S. President Donald Trump on an airplane with underage girls. Rating: An image being shared online in June 2025 purported to depict U.S. President Donald Trump on board an airplane surrounded by five young blonde girls. Many users sharing the alleged photograph pointed out the girls are underage, with others ruminating how their looks are reminiscent of Trump's daughter Ivanka. The image was shared widely on X (archived, archived, archived), Threads (archived), Facebook (archived) and TikTok (archived), with some of the posts (archived) further alleging that the airplane in question belonged to disgraced financier and accused sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein (now deceased). The image shared online purporting to show Donald Trump alongside underage girls, allegedly on Epstein's private jet, is fake. While there are authentic images of Trump alongside Epstein, plenty of false images have spread widely on the internet, including other fake photos of Trump with underage girls. The specific image in question has been shared online since at least 2023. It appeared in posts on meme websites Imgur and 9GAG in April 2023 before spreading to social media. In January 2024, Hollywood actor Mark Ruffalo even apologized for sharing fake images of Trump with underage girls, including the one in question. The actor wrote, "Sorry Folks. Apparently these images are AI fakes. The fact Trump was on Epstein's plane and what Epstein was up to is not." Indeed, the photograph was generated with artificial intelligence (AI). The AI-detection tool Hive Moderation reported a 99.8% chance the image was made using AI and was thoroughly debunked when it originally circulated. While the image was debunked during its original circulation, Trump's public feud with Elon Musk, who posted on social media that Trump appeared in Epstein's files in June 2025, brought the image back to prominence and is likely to blame for the proliferation of new claims. Snopes previously debunked fake images of Trump and Epstein with a minor as well as Trump and Epstein together on a private jet, though there have been authentic images of the pair together. Musk Spoke To Trump Privately Before Posting 'Regret' Message About Feud

After a public feud, Elon Musk expressed regret over his social media posts about Donald Trump, acknowledging their severity. Trump appreciated Musk's statement. The clash began over a spending bill, leading to insults, but Musk later sought to mend relations. On Monday night, US president Donald Trump received a call from billionaire Elon Musk after which the Tesla chief posted about his "regret" on X, according to a report by the New York Times. Days after a public feud with Trump, Musk said he regrets some of the social media posts he made on the president. "I regret some of my posts about President @realDonaldTrump last week. They went too far," he wrote. I regret some of my posts about President @realDonaldTrump last week. They went too far. — Elon Musk (@elonmusk) June 11, 2025 Responding to Musk's post about his regret, Wednesday, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt told reporters that Trump "acknowledged the statement that Elon put out this morning and he is appreciative of it." The clash happened when Musk slammed the Trump administration's proposed spending bill. He labelled the bill a "disgusting abomination" and urged political retribution against Republican lawmakers who backed it. After that the back and forth soon culminated into an exchange of insults where Musk linked Trump to the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. However, initially, Musk did not want to apologise about his comments. On Friday, he replied to an X user who said he should apologise to Trump with, "What's the apology for exactly?" He also added that he would apologise only after "a full dump of the Epstein files." The night the former DOGE chief spoke to Wiles and Vance, he deleted the post where he said Trump's name was in the Epstein Files. Musk's call to Trump came after he had spoken with Vice President JD Vance and the White House chief of staff, Susie Wiles, regarding how to break the ice. As Trump arrived at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts for an opening night performance of "Les Misérables", he told reporters that he had not "thought too much" about Musk reaching out to him. Meanwhile Vance said he had spoken to Musk and Trump to ensure that the former was "publicly supporting and privately supporting the president's agenda".

EXCLUSIVE Is Trump involved in more 'Epstein files?' The staggering number of Americans who think so

Most Americans believe President Donald Trump is named in more 'Epstein files,' according to a new exclusive Daily Mail poll. It comes after billionaire Elon Musk launched scathing claims on X last week suggesting the president might be more deeply involved in the files than previously known. He alleged on X that the 'real reason' Trump hasn't released the full files connected to the predator is because he's in them. Musk was tearing into Trump during a public spat over the president's signature tax bill, and has since apologized for going 'too far' with the now-deleted post on Epstein. But Trump's name being in the files is unsurprising and already known and he's made it clear he's never been a 'fan' of the pedophile. The two men moved in the same Palm Beach, Florida, circles from the late 1980s until 2004, when they fell out spectacularly over a property deal. Along with the likes of Prince Andrew and Bill Clinton, Trump is one among many powerful people known to have associated with Epstein and who have been mentioned in court documents related to the financier's decades of sexual abuse. Before he was re-elected last November, Trump said he would have 'no problem' releasing the files. He then directed his administration under Attorney General Pam Bondi to publish all documents associated with the convicted predator who killed himself in prison in 2019 ahead of his trial on sex-trafficking charges. She put out a tranche of related pages earlier this year, including his flight logs which showed the president's name appearing seven times, and has been urged to make more public. A new Daily Mail/J.L. Partners poll reveals that Americans are convinced there are even more files to come. And 54 percent say they believe that Trump will be named in more files containing details of the investigation into deceased sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein. That includes 39 percent of Republicans polled, while 31 percent said they were unsure and 30 percent say they think Musk's claim is false. Musk, who was once inseparable from Trump, published a series of bombshell posts on X in his war of words with the president amid their fallout this month. This included one where he said: 'Time to drop the really big bomb.' '[Donald Trump] is in the Epstein files,' the Tesla and SpaceX boss posted on June 6, claiming: 'That is the real reason they have not been made public.' 'Have a nice day DJT!' he concluded in the now-deleted post. A source familiar with the situation told the Daily Mail that Musk did not uncover any new information with his post to X. 'The administration itself released Epstein files with the president's name included,' they noted, adding: 'Everyone already knew this.' Epstein was a serial child sex offender who committed suicide in prison in 2019 but there have been conspiracy theories about his death. Many were furious earlier this year when the first 'bombshell' drop of Epstein Files documents was anything but surprising. Instead of revealing new information, a slew of pro-MAGA influencers came out of the White House with binders mostly containing documents that had already been made public – including a list of client names and those who flew on Epstein's private jet. Of the 1,006 registered voters polled online by J.L. Partners just one day after Musk's tweet was posted, 69 percent think that there's more that's yet to be seen from the Epstein documents. A source familiar distanced the president from the financier and child sex offender, saying that 'everyone knows President Trump kicked Jeffrey Epstein out of his Palm Beach Golf Club.' 'If Elon truly thought the President was more deeply involved with Epstein, why did he hang out with him for 6 months and say he 'loves him as much as a straight man can love a straight man?' they posed. Billionaire Elon Musk posted last week a 'bomb' on X claiming that the 'real reason' Trump hasn't released the Epstein files is because he's in them Musk told X users to 'mark' his post so they could come back to it in the future – though it appears he then deleted the claim just two days after making it. Trump pledged during his campaign to release files related to Epstein. Attorney General Pam Bondi released some pages in February, but most of that information was already in the public domain. Slews of rich and famous people were on the flight logs of Epstein's private plane, which he used to fly to his private island where the illicit activity occurred. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, when asked about Musk's X post earlier this month, said: 'This is an unfortunate episode from Elon, who is unhappy with the One Big Beautiful Bill because it does not include the policies he wanted.' 'The president is focused on passing this historic piece of legislation and making our country great again,' she added. Trump didn't directly respond to Musk's Epstein charge on June 5. Instead he posted what amounted to a shrug on Truth Social, while continuing to back the 'big, beautiful bill.' 'I don't mind Elon turning against me, but he should have done so months ago,' Trump wrote. 'This is one of the Greatest Bills ever presented to Congress.' Later that day he ignored shouted questions from reporters as he hosted the National Fraternal Order of Police executive board in the State Dining Room.

Trump opens door to forgiving Musk after Epstein accusations: ‘I have no hard feelings'

President Donald Trump said he's open to forgiving Elon Musk after their public spat last week over his 'Big Beautiful Bill.' Trump revealed he has 'no hard feelings' towards Musk in a Monday appearance on the podcast Pod Force One with Miranda Devine. Instead, Trump said he was 'surprised' and 'not a happy camper' after Musk slammed his sweeping budget legislation and claimed the president's name appeared in the so-called 'Epstein Files.' Musk went on later to apologize for the online feud. When asked if he could forgive Musk, Trump responded, 'I guess I could.' 'I was really surprised that that happened,' Trump said. 'He went after a bill that's phenomenal…I think he feels very badly that he said that actually.' 'I was disappointed in him, but it is what it is,' he added. Trump added that he is focused now on 'straighten[ing] out the country' and his 'sole function now is getting this country back to a level higher than it's ever been.' Musk said he 'regretted' what he said about the president in a post on X hours before the interview aired. 'I regret some of my posts about President @realDonaldTrump last week,' the billionaire wrote. 'They went too far.' The feud began on June 3, when Musk attacked the 'Big Beautiful Bill,' Trump's sweeping budget legislation. The bill includes no tax on tips or overtime, no tax on social security and higher restrictions on Medicaid. 'I'm sorry, but I just can't stand it anymore,' Musk wrote. 'This massive, outrageous, pork-filled Congressional spending bill is a disgusting abomination. Shame on those who voted for it: you know you did wrong. You know it.' Trump expressed his disappointment in Musk shortly afterward: 'Elon and I had a great relationship. I don't know if we will anymore.' Musk said the bill will 'increase the deficit to $2.5 trillion' and argued that Trump would have lost the election without his support. The president then claimed Musk is opposed to the bill because it ends the electric vehicle incentives, which could harm Tesla. Less than an hour later, Musk dropped a bombshell allegation. 'Files linked to the investigation of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein have emerged as a point of fixation for Trump and his allies and right-wing media figures,' Musk wrote on X. 'Time to drop the really big bomb: Donald Trump is in the Epstein files,' he added. 'That is the real reason they have not been made public.' Jeffrey Epstein, a sex offender who orchestrated a massive child sex trafficking ring with his associates, died by suicide in 2019 while in custody on federal sex trafficking charges. He was associated with dozens of celebrities and powerful politicians, bringing international interest to the case. After his death, interest mounted over redacted court documents naming his alleged associates and victims. These documents are known as the 'Epstein files.' Attorney General Pam Bondi moved to release some of these documents in February in what she labeled the 'first phase' of declassified files — but much of the information was already public. Critics say the administration hasn't released enough and must move to declassify more information. Throughout this public battle, Trump called confidants and acquaintances to discuss the falling out. During one of these calls, he alleged that Musk's behavior could be explained by illicit drug use, according to a report by The Washington Post. White House officials said Trump was concerned about Musk's drug use and it was one factor that contributed to the feud, according to the Post.

Elon Musk Has ‘Regret' Over Some of His Trump Insults: ‘They Went Too Far'

Elon Musk said he regrets some of his harsh comments about President Trump in an X post early on Wednesday morning, in his latest move to de-escalate his sudden feud with the commander-in-chief. 'I regret some of my posts about President Donald Trump last week,' Musk said about his incendiary posts. 'They went too far.' The Tesla and SpaceX boss did not specify which of his posts he regretted making. Musk was livid with the 'Big Beautiful Bill' the president has championed, saying it was 'pork-filled' and a 'disgusting abomination' early last week; he then went off on President Trump last Thursday in several now-infamous X posts, which included saying he supported impeaching the president and claiming Trump had not released the Epstein Files because he was named in them. The billionaire later deleted his post about Trump being named in the Epstein Files over the past weekend. Trump, by about 10 a.m. ET on Wednesday, had not publicly responded to Musk's 'regret' update. However, the president, in a podcast with the New York Post's Miranda Devine released on Wednesday, echoed some of his recent comments and said he was 'a little disappointed' in his former head of the Department of Government Efficiency. Trump added that he 'could' see the pair repairing their relationship, though, and said he has 'no hard feelings' towards Musk. The podcast — Trump's first since reentering the White House in January — was recorded on Monday.
