Early Prime Day deals include the 8BitDo Micro gamepad for only $17

Amazon Prime Days begins again on July 8, but early deals are already starting to trickle out. For instance, the 8BitDo Micro gamepad is on sale for just $17. This is a record-low price and represents a discount of 33 percent. However, the deal only applies to the green colorway. The Micro is a Bluetooth controller designed for the Nintendo Switch and Android devices, but it should also integrate with gadgets like the Steam Deck and iPhones. The company has released a firmware update for Switch 2 compatibility, so that should work too. We've tested other 8BitDo controllers with Nintendo's new console and came away impressed. This is a record-low price. $17 at Amazon This is an extremely tiny gamepad that still manages to pack in 16 buttons. It's a near-perfect way to play retro-tinged 2D platformers. Did we mention it's small? This thing will easily fit in a pocket or just about anywhere else. The company wasn't kidding around when they named it Micro. There's one caveat. The diminutive size of the 8BitDo Micro doesn't allow for actual joysticks and there's no haptic engine for rumble or anything like that. This isn't the best controller for brand-new AAA games. If you absolutely must have a pair of joysticks, for FPS titles and the like, the 8BitDo Lite SE is also on sale for $22. Follow @EngadgetDeals on X for the latest tech deals and buying advice .

Samsung SmartTag 2 trackers are 38 percent off ahead of Prime Day

You likely have a million things to take with you when you leave the house each day — phone, wallet, keys and much more. Keeping track of it all can be tough, but a Bluetooth tracker can help by monitoring the location of at least a few of your most important items. Right now, one of our favorites is on sale for a near record-low price. The Samsung Galaxy SmartTag 2 is down to just $19 a pop on Amazon, a 38-percent discount from its standard price. We've seen it slightly cheaper recently, but only by a couple of dollars. The main catch here is that only the white option has this steep of a discount. If you want more than one, consider the four-pack option, on sale for $88. Get it now for 38 percent off $19 at Amazon The Samsung Galaxy SmartTag 2 is a solid purchase due to features like being IP67-rated water- and dust-resistant, a sizeable keychain hoop and over 16 months of battery life. It also emits a ring louder than competitors like the AirTag or Tile. The only snag is that you must have a Samsung device in order to use it. Our favorite budget wireless earbuds are almost half off ahead of Prime Day

It's that time of year again, and Amazon Prime Day is around the corner. There's a lot to expect from this year's extended event running July 8 to 11, the longest Prime Day ever. That's not to say you have to wait until it starts to find great deals. Right now you can grab a pair of Anker Soundcore Space wireless earbuds at the lowest price we've ever seen them. Normally retailing for $80, they are on sale for $45. This is the lowest price we've ever seen for the top budget pick in our guide to the best wireless earbuds. $45 at Amazon The Anker Soundcore Space earbuds are currently our top pick for best budget wireless earbuds. While their performance doesn't rival that of more premium products, we felt the Space A40's feature set offered excellent value for such a budget-friendly set of earbuds. These earbuds connect via Bluetooth, support connection to two devices at once, and come in a case that supports wireless charging. We were most impressed with the Space A40's active noise cancellation (ANC), a feature rarely seen at this price point. While it's not the most sophisticated ANC on the market, it does its job in blocking out the steady rumble of a train or jet engine. Battery life is solid for a budget pair of earbuds, reaching roughly eight to 10 hours depending on use, with another 40 hours or so supplied by the case. In-ear fit is comfortable, as the round earpieces are pretty light and evenly balanced. The audio quality is impressive for its price point, offering a warm sound that can be fine-tuned with an EQ in the Soundcore app. A subpar built-in mic means the Space A40s don't have the best transparency mode and aren't the best for phone calls in noisy areas, but overall for $45 these are a great deal. Prime Day deals include three months of Audible for only $3

The bumper 2025 edition of Amazon's Prime Day is fast approaching and the deals are starting to emerge. While we've seen this offer pop up several times in the past, it's one that's always worth highlighting. New Audible subscribers can get three months of access to the Premium Plus plan for $3. That's a total of $42 off. This is one of the best streaming deals around right now. It will be available until July 31, which is a few weeks after the Prime Day event ends (it could probably be called Prime Week this year since it's running for four days). If you don't cancel your Audible membership before the promotional period ends, it will automatically renew for $15 per month. You can get three audiobooks to keep forever for a dollar each, plus access to thousands of audiobooks, Audible Originals and podcasts while your subscription remains active. $3 at Amazon Through the Audible Premium Plus plan, you'll receive one credit each month. You can use this to claim any audiobook you like on the platform, whether it's a bestseller, new release or something else you've been meaning to get to. You'll retain access to audiobooks you claim with credits even after your subscription expires. So, you're effectively getting three audiobooks for your permanent collection for three bucks. Audible members will be able to take advantage of exclusive discounts and sales too. They also get access to thousands of audiobooks, Audible Originals and podcasts as long as their subscription remains active. Follow @EngadgetDeals on X for the latest tech deals and buying advice .

Early Prime Day deals include $100 off the GoPro Hero 13 Black

It's that time of year again. Amazon Prime Day will rain deals upon the world on July 8 , but some companies have already begun slashing prices. For instance, the iconic GoPro Hero 13 Black action camera is currently on sale for $329 , which is a discount of over $100 . That's not a record-low price, but it's close. This model topped our list of the best action cameras , and for good reason. It's a near-perfect device with plenty of bells and whistles . This is the most versatile Hero camera the company has ever made, thanks to a new family of modular lenses. It can shoot up to 5.3K, with 2X optical zoom and a photo resolution of 27MP. It also features a larger battery than previous iterations, which allows for around 90 minutes of continuous shooting in 4K and 30FPS. It's waterproof up to 10 millimeters and can be operated via voice control. The full-color front screen makes it easy to review footage without having to upload anything to the computer. There's no internal storage, which is something of a bummer, but the camera can accommodate microSD cards. We did say it offers the "best image quality in its class" but that doesn't apply to low-light conditions. If you shoot primarily in low light, consider the DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro instead .
