Enchanted Forest announces 2025 show theme

The immersive experience will take visitors on a journey through the forest brought to life by light, music, and storytelling. Luminara is billed as "a timely reminder that nature and innovation can thrive in unison when we reconnect with the world around us, especially by stepping outside and immersing ourselves in places that inspire and restore". READ MORE: The creative team for the sound and light show, which draws over 85,000 visitors each year, have spent several months developing what they say will be a "significant technological showstopper". For the first time in the event's history, the whole audience will become part of a unifying immersive experience that will connect them, no matter where they are on the light trail. Commenting on the technological plan, Creative Director Karen Falconer said: 'This is by far the most technologically complex and wide-ranging immersive experience we have ever tried to create. It will bring together all installations throughout the site, fused together with sound and light, to create a moment in time that is shared by all. "In the natural setting of a forest the size of Faskally Wood, this is no small feat, but we're up for the challenge of showing how nature and technology can combine to create wonder and amazement. Our sound and lighting teams are extremely excited about bringing this moment to life in what will be a first for any show of this kind in Scotland.' Enchanted Forest (Image: Faskally Woods) Nela Popovic, CEO of The Enchanted Forest Community Trust, said: 'We're incredibly excited to launch this year's show and our creative team have been working extremely hard to create a show that is both unique and ground-breaking. Luminara is already promising to be a visually stunning and thought-provoking experience that visitors of all ages will be able to connect with. 'We are, once again, pushing the boundaries of technological capability in a way that will celebrate the beauty of Faskally Wood. We are shining a light on the powerful idea that nature and technology can exist side by side through a living network that connects trees, plants and energy in the same way that data flows through the internet. "Luminara reminds us that technology does not replace nature; no matter how far we stride into the future, nature is never left behind. We look forward to welcoming visitors to another unforgettable autumn.' Tickets for the 2025 show will go on sale at 10am on Friday, June 20, the eve of the Summer Solstice. To book, visit:

Enchanted Forest: All we know about Perthshire light show as 2025 theme revealed

The Enchanted Forest is one of Perthshire's most popular events – and returns once again this autumn. The event near Pitlochry attracts thousands of people every year. As details of this year's theme and ticket plans are revealed, we look at all we know so far about the 2025 event. The Enchanted Forest runs daily from October 2 to November 2. The Enchanted Forest is held at Faskally Wood, near Pitlochry. This year's theme is Luminara, which organisers describe as a 'celebration of the unseen connections between nature and technology'. Visitors are promised an immersive experience on their journey through the forest, with light, music and storytelling. Creative director Karen Falconer said: 'This is by far the most technologically complex and wide-ranging immersive experience we have ever tried to create. 'It will bring together all installations throughout the site, fused together with sound and light, to create a moment in time that is shared by all. 'Our sound and lighting teams are extremely excited about bringing this moment to life in what will be a first for any show of this kind in Scotland.' Tickets for this year's Enchanted Forest go on sale from 10am on Friday June 20 via the event's website. No parking is available on site at Faskally Wood, so shuttle travel is included in the ticket price. Those travelling to Pitlochry by car are advised to leave extra time to find parking in town. There are many signposted public car parks in Pitlochry, and parking on the street is free in the evening. Due to limited space, disabled parking on site is reserved for wheelchair users only. Shuttle buses run from Fisher's Hotel on Atholl Road, not far from the railway station. Several bus firms, including Stagecoach, Megabus, Citylink and Flixbus, run services to Pitlochry. A range of stalls will be on offer at the event. However, details of this year's food and drink offering are yet to be revealed.

The new whimsical afternoon tea inspired by one of Shakespeare's best-known plays

A new afternoon tea has arrived in London inspired by Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream, with whimsical charm and themed cocktails. Created by the geniuses behind The Secret Garden Afternoon Tea, Taj 51 has created their latest literary-themed afternoon tea inspired by this over 400-year-old play, with romance, confusion and magic. Launching on April 23, the tea features five 'acts', beginning with a potion inspired by the Elixir of Enchantment love potion slipped to the sleeping lovers by Puck, then moving onto savouries and the sweets for acts two and three. (Image: Switched On Comms) The setting couldn't be more apt for this afternoon tea, with the historic courtyard of this Grade I listed building featuring a hand-carved frieze depicting many of Shakespeare's most famous plays. Afternoon tea is served in the Kona restaurant featuring whimsical décor, with toadstools, fairies and foliage to recreate the setting of the play. (Image: Switched On Comms) Savouries included fillings like spiced butternut squash hummus and caramelised onion, orange-zested ricotta and cucumber, dill cream cheese and smoked salmon, thyme roasted chicken and apricot mayo, and finally roast beef and horseradish cream served in a brioche bun. The savouries were a mix of both sandwiches and pastries with a variety of flavours, and as far as savouries go the Taj certainly didn't disappoint from when I visited last. (Image: Switched On Comms) Moving onto the sweet treats, this was where the whimsical charm really came in, with butterflies, flowers and edible silver leaf to conjure up a fairy-themed feast inspired by foraging in the forest. Sweet treats included the Heart of Love and Confusion chocolate and tropical mousse, the Enchanted Forest tarragon and cherry mousse, the Mystical Grove lemon and pistachio choux pastry, and finally finishing with the The Blood of Pyramus & Thisbe tart served with blackberries. (Image: Switched On Comms) The sweet treats created by the talented team were certainly impressive to the taste, with an experimental mix of flavours like tarragon and cherry and lemon and pistachio. The sweet treats definitely were what won me over with this afternoon tea and I would struggle to pick a favourite. The event was finished off with a round of freshly baked scones. Whether you've experienced afternoon tea at the Taj 51 or not, their latest afternoon tea is well worth a visit if you enjoy one with a theme. The Midsummer Night's Dream Afternoon Tea at Taj 51 is priced at £75 a person, with options available for vegetarians and vegans, with bookings available on Fridays to Sundays.
