UAE: Kerala fisherman wins Dh150,000 cash prize in Big Ticket draw
Three Indian expats received the winning call from Big Ticket as they each took home Dh150,000 in the latest draw this month.
Among them was 39-year-old Sulfeeker Pakkarkante Purakkal Basheer Pakkarkante, a fisherman belonging to the Indian state of Kerala, who has been calling Abu Dhabi his home since the past 10 years.
The other two winners are 45-year-old Selva Johnson and 29-year-old Eldho Thombrayil.
Sulfeeker spent the past three years trying his luck alongside a group of 12 friends, with whom he finally struck his luck this week. He plans to equally split the prize money among his friends.
He said he would continue purchasing Big Ticket every month and was "very happy" to hear the news.
Meanwhile, another Abu Dhabi resident, Selva Johnson has called the Capital his home for the past 24 years, and is celebrating his win after eight years of purchasing tickets every month.
Selva, who discovered Big Ticket through its website, said he has always played as part of a group of 10 friends.
With his winnings, Selva's first priority is to save for the future. 'It was excellent news when I got the winning call,' Selva shared.
For Eldho Thombrayil, life has taken a major turn after the win, as he moved to Dubai two years ago to build his career. He has been buying tickets every month since then.
Playing as part of a group of 17 friends, Eldho said he was "so happy" to receive the news and plans on sharing the prize.
This month's prizes
Participants this month can look forward to the Dh25 million grand prize, three Dh150,000 weekly e-draws and the return of The Big Win Contest.
Meanwhile on July 3, a Dh25 million grand prize will be awarded during the live draw. On the same day, three winners will walk away with Dh75,000 each in consolation prizes.
